Bill Clinton seemed to be really interested in someone or something that got him deeply engrossed in it, lol. Hillary was laughing at Donald Trump's inauguration alongside Michelle Obama when she noticed that her husband wasn’t watching what was happening on stage. She turned around and gave Clinton a long disapproving stare, he barely turned to acknowledge her and kept staring at whatever it was he was staring at. A lot of people on Twitter say he was staring at Ivanka Trump but who knows what he was really looking at.

As the news about the alleged crash of the 17-month-old marriage of Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, to philanthropist, Oladunni Churchill, continues to spread like wildfire, a lady, Rosaline Meurer, who was accused of being the ‘side chick’ has spoken out. Reports have claimed that the lady allegedly responsible for Tonto Dikes marital problems is her husband, Churchill’s PA. Meurer, a budding actress has, however, denied the claim, saying critics should get their facts right. In a chat with Hip TV, she said, “It’s irritating to the ears; it’s just like saying ‘are you sleeping with your brother.’ “Like I’ve said before and I say again, he’s like a mentor to me. He’s someone I look up to, I like his person, he has a good heart, there’s no one that wouldn’t want to be identified with someone that has a good heart, someone that gives a helping hand. “I am very certain that being managed and being under Big Church Foundation, I am sure of a bright future. “I really have nothing to say about this because it is very irrelevant to me. They are in peace, they are happy, I don’t know about what you people are saying but you guys should get your facts straight before bringing thighs out. “It is really not relevant to me. I’m not saying much about it until… “It’s what it is, I remain and will continue to be under Big Church Foundation and he remains family to me. We’ve hung out together before. I don’t see a big deal so people should stop saying what they don’t know. “The CEO of Big Church Foundation, Mr. Oladunni Churchill is like part of my family. I have known him for years. He is like a brother to my mother and like an uncle to me and my siblings apart from me being an ambassador to his Foundation. This news is really funny to me. “This is someone with a big heart. His kindness is beyond me because so long as you are around him, you must benefit.” Speaking on the break up allegation between the couple, she said, “Well, they are all false. I don’t see it’s not false. Does anyone have proof of anything that things are not right in their marriage? “If you don’t have proof, keep shut. People are living their lives, they are happy in their homes and other people will just come up with stories. It doesn’t make sense. “I feel everyone should just mind their business since they didn’t come out to say they have issues. “Let people leave a happy family to be happy.” Recall that widely circulated reports had revealed that Tonto’s marriage was allegedly heading for the rocks and that there was another woman in the picture.

After more than two decades in power, Gambian President Yahya Jammeh faced the prospect of a military intervention by regional forces, as the man who once pledged to rule the West African nation for a billion years clung to power. A few minutes after a midnight deadline set by the West African regional bloc to step down, there was no word from Jammeh. Earlier, a military commander with the regional bloc known as Ecowas announced that troops were positioning along Gambia's borders. "The mandate of the president is finished at midnight," declared Seydou Maiga Moro, speaking on Senegalese radio station RFM. "All the troops are already in place," he added, saying they were merely waiting to see whether Jammeh would acquiesce to international pressure to cede power to President-elect Adama Barrow. As midnight approached, Jammeh met with Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz on the crisis. The Mauritanian plane left Gambia shortly before midnight.

[quote author=owoicho13 post=52883884]Gambia’s president, Yahya Jammeh, has until midnight of Wednesday, January 18 to leave office for the swearing-in of his successor, Adama Barrow. This is the final verdict of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), according to a report by Thisday which further said the organisation has perfected plans to ensure Barrow becomes the new president of the country on Thursday, January 19. This new challenge for Jammeh came same day the country’s Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Emmanuel Fagbenle, refused to hear an application by his party, the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC), to halt the swearing-in of Barrow. Jammeh’s plot to remain in office beyond his legally mandated period was also punctured on Monday, January 16 with the resignation of the country’s foreign minister, Neneh MacDouall-Gaye. The minister is to be followed by her counterparts, the minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Addou kolley; the minister of Trade, Industry and Employment, Abdou Jobe; and the minister of Environment, Ousman Jarju. Last week, Sheriff Bolang, the country’s information minister resigned and fled over the refusal of Jammeh to step down after his defeat in the December, 2016 poll. A source reported that Mrs MacDouall-Gaye said her resignation was because of the prevailing circumstances, adding in her letter: “This letter serves as a formal notice of my resignation as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of The Gambia. “After due deliberation, I am of the conviction that under the prevailing circumstances I cannot effectively serve as foreign minister.” Thanking Jammeh for the opportunity given her to serve, MacDouall-Gaye, who had been one of Jammeh’s most trusted allies, prayed that the political tension in the state is calmed and the issue between him and Barrow resolved. According to a reports, there are indications the minister fled Gambia after resigning as it is believed Jammeh is increasingly being dumped. Jammeh had initially congratulated Barrow after the latter was declared winner of the election but suddenly back-tracked and rejected the result of the poll. The African Union and the ECOWAS have made efforts to prevail on him to step down from office with fears that it could result in civil war. On Monday, there were unverified photographs of Gambian citizens leaving the country amid tension. Thisday also quoted a staff of the country’s foreign ministry as saying: “From what I gathered, they are extending the olive branch till midnight of January 18th. If he does not (handover power) by 19th, the troops will take-over.” The source said he had no idea of the troops but that they would come from ECOWAS. When contacted, the report quoted the director of Army public relations, Brig-Gen Sani Usman, as saying that he was not aware of any plans to bring the military into the country as the issue falls into the purview of the foreign affairs ministry. “We are not at the forefront of solving the political problem in The Gambia; we are soldiers,” he said. |

Many of those who commented on social media platform Facebook about an audio recording purportedly uploaded to YouTube on the day of the bombing (Monday) said Shekau was a coward to attack a school when tougher targets with adequate resistance are there. Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel announced on Friday he is leaving English Premier League leaders Chelsea to join Chinese side Tianjin TEDA. He is the latest star to head to the Chinese Super League, after the high-profile signings of Chelsea team-mate Oscar by Shanghai SIPG and Carlos Tevez by Shanghai Shenhua in recent weeks. Midfielder Mikel has not featured at all for Chelsea under manager Antonio Conte, who took over in July. "After 10 years, 374 appearances and 11 trophies, it is time for me to say goodbye," Mikel said in a letter posted on his Twitter account. "I haven't featured as much this season as I would have liked, and at 29 I still have many years in the game ahead of me. With this in mind, I feel now is the time to seek a new challenge. "I'm delighted to be joining Tianjin TEDA FC in China, at a time that the Chinese Super League is really taking off. "I look forward to helping Tianjin TEDA FC continue to grow both on and off the pitch in the next few years." In his farewell letter, Mikel reflected on his career at the Blues. "I joined Chelsea as a 19-year-old kid from the Norwegian Premier League, making my debut in the Community Shield," he said. "I say goodbye as a champion of England, a champion of Europe and proud captain of my national team." Mikel gave no details about the contract he has signed. He joined Chelsea from Norwegian side Lyon in 2006 following a legal wrangle with Manchester United, who had previously announced his signature. The elegant holding midfielder picked up 11 pieces of silverware during his time at Stamford Bridge, including two Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the 2012 Champions League. But he has not played a single minute of first-team football since the arrival of Conte, with N'Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas all ahead of him in the midfield pecking order. Mikel has been capped 78 times by Nigeria, scoring five goals, and was a member of the team that triumphed at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. Brazilian midfielder Oscar, 25, landed in Shanghai on Monday for a reported Asian transfer record 60 million euros ($63 million) deal. China ordered a clampdown on Thursday on the mega sums being shelled out on foreign football stars after the high-profile signings of Oscar and Tevez, reportedly now the highest paid player in the world commanding 38 million euros a season. There has to be action against "irrational investment" and the government will "regulate and restrain high-priced signings and make reasonable restrictions on players' high incomes", a state General Administration of Sport spokesman warned. Insolvent clubs could be kicked out of China's Super League, which has been spending more than the English Premier League in recent transfer windows to draw top names.
