A 90-year-old woman in Akwa-Ibom State, Agnes Akpan, has revealed that she never had sex with any man in her life.

The woman, who devoted her life to nursing children right from a young age at Ikot Udobia community, Etinan Local government area, Akwa Ibom State, was honoured at Saint Pius Catholic Church, Ikot Udobia, by the people for her devotion to humanity.

Speaking on her life time, she said: “I have never known anything like man in my entire life, not to talk of a husband. I have never been married, no relationship with any man, no boyfriend even when I was young. I have never slept with any man as far as my memory can carry me, not even in my dream state.

“I was born partially blind, no man saw anything good in me, so I grew up without the feeling of a man. When I was much younger, reverend sisters staying at the Convent School at Ikot Udo Ntuen made me to embrace Christianity.

“Every Sunday, they came to our house to pick me and brought me back in the evening. Those were the kind of friends that I had. No immoral discussion, it was all about Holy Mary and the child of God, Jesus”.

Yesterday, Monday, May 29, 2017, MMM held a Democracy Day green party show in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the party, which held at the Millennium Park, was opened to members of the group and non-members alike.

Mr Seyi Bello, the President of Abuja Guiders Forum of the MMM-Nigeria said the gesture was part of solidarity by the group for Nigeria’s 18-years of uninterrupted democracy.
“This party is put together to celebrate our Democracy Day and since Nigeria’s flag is green-white-green, we decided to call it ‘green party’ as a mark of solidarity."
Seyi Bello also explained that over three million Nigerians were members of the group.

He explained that contrary to some people’s opinion about the scheme, it was a community of people providing financial help to each other on the principle of reciprocity and benevolence.

Despite MMM freezing operations in November 2016, Nigerians are still patronising the Ponzi scheme. Unlike before when people were open about their participation, Nigerians have decided to keep quiet about their involvement with the scheme.

Manchester United star Paul Pogba has been sighted in Mecca, Islam's holiest city, on a pilgrimage as he marks the start of Ramadan. It was reported earlier, that the Frenchman was on his way to the holy city. On arriving the City, Pogba shared a picture of himself captioning it the "most beautiful thing I've seen in my life".

The Real Madrid forward, Christiano Ronaldo surpassed Jimmy Greaves' tally of 366 goals in Europe's top five leagues, netting his 367th and 368th in a 4-1 win over Celta Vigo in La Liga on Wednesday night.

Three male suicide bombers Thursday night struck at University of Maiduguri, but their mission was largely a flop. It was the fourth attack on the school since January.

The bombers at about 23.50 attempted to enter the female hostel, but were stopped by eagle-eyed security men.

One of them hurriedly detonated the Improvised Explosive Device (IED), strapped on his body.

He killed himself and injured three security men.

The other two scampered off and detonated their bombs near a construction site, close to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Victor Isuku, the spokesperson of the Borno police command said:

“On 18/5/2017 at about 2350hrs, three male suicide bombers with IEDs strapped to their bodies, gained entry into the premises of university of Maiduguri.

Abolore Akande, popularly known as 9ice has said he is leaving politics to return to his music career.

9ice, speaking in an interview with Funmi Iyanda on her YouTube series ‘Ask Funmi’, admitted he was keen on politics, but stated that Nigerians are not ready for real change.
“I want to do politics but the country is not ready, the environment is not ready, even the people are not ready. I am not Jesus Christ. Why do I want to fight for people that are not ready? Let me just focus on myself and my family,” he said.
9ice also revealed that he funded his 2015 campaign to represent his constituency at the House of Rpresentatives, despite having godfathers.

On Thursday, the European Union’s powerful antitrust chief fined the social network 110 million euros, or about $122 million, for giving misleading statements during the company’s $19 billion acquisition of the internet messaging service WhatsApp in 2014.

The fine one of the largest regulatory penalties against Facebook comes days after Dutch and French privacy watchdogs ruled that the company had broken strict data protection rules. Other European countries, notably Germany, are clamping down on social media companies, including issuing potentially hefty penalties for failing to sufficiently police hate speech and misinformation.

The European Union’s antitrust chief, Margrethe Vestager, said that Facebook had told the European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union, that the social network would not combine the company’s data with that of WhatsApp, which has more than one billion users.

Yet last August, Facebook announced that it would begin sharing WhatsApp data with the rest of the company. That could allow it to gain an unfair advantage over rivals, by giving it access to greater amounts of data to help support its online advertising business.

Chelsea have launched a £55 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, according to reports.
The Sun claims that Antonio Conte views the 24-year-old as the creative spark he requires to push Chelsea forward next season.
Verratti has already played under Conte with Italy’s national side and the Chelsea manager believes the midfielder is the signing who can offer the team more tactical flexibility.

Big Brother Naija winner Efe has been given a chieftaincy title in Delta state.
Efe Ejeba is now the Prince of Okpe kingdom, in Delta. The honour was bestowed on him on Thursday, May 4, 2017, by Major Gen. Felix Mujakperuo who is the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.

According to report, Efe came in a convoy from Benin. He was welcomed by the Orodje and six other traditional rulers. One of the rulers was Ovie of Ughelli.
