CzarChris: I wanted to have a meaningful conversation with you, but clearly you want to take this conversation to the gutters. Well, good luck with that, I'm out of the trenches and you can't bring me down to your level.
Infact all public Universities should be closed down and money to be used to pay the staffs should be channeled to something else. People like me are already out, so continue.
You're the one not making meaningful conversation.
Any professors that believe he's earning less than he deserves should move to another job or university that can pay him. Isn't that what is applicable in the private sector?
Why will employees want to dictate to the employers?
And for your information, many of these "professors" finished with 2.2 in their undergraduates, and they got their masters and phd through paddy paddy. Even their professorships is based on paddy paddy.
I am sure she has 100% support for our man. I mean the one you vote when you vote wisely.
Expect some people to attack and mention me for the last statement. They know that voting their candidate is not a wise vote
Yeah, when you vote based on antecedents, capacity and character to do the best for the people. Not lying and sounding like a "Newspaper-stand analyst.".
RichestMinds: I saw a post on a trend saying tinubu is the owner of Lagos Oriental Hotel.
I was a worker at WEMPCO Group which happens to be the owner of Lagos Oriental Hotel. I worked in the purchasing department and I was among the team that supply everything the Hotel needed ranging from food, electrical, even toothpick.
It came as a shock to me when they say tinubu owns it. Tinubu can't be the owner of everything in Lagos.
Lagos Oriental Hotel is own by the Tung Family
Lalasticlala mynd44
To them, every wealthy people stole money "meant for them."
felixnkubi: if it's fiction then no it wouldn't be somehow, because that movie would be a fictional movie not a historical movie! again this is fiction, and you can manipulate fiction however you like, as an author, writer, producer whatever! seeing black people as slaves in GOT is nice but if you saw a fictional nollywood fantasy movie with white slaves that will be somehow to you abi?! cos blacks are only meant to be depicted as slaves in fantasy movie, we were born to be slaves ... una no well I swear
Lol. Fiction is different from folklore.
Imagine White slaves to a black man appearing in the same movie, within the same place we have Oduduwa.
felixnkubi: Tbh, there's a thin line between folklore and fantasy, many folklore movie na fantasy movie! dragon is a folklore character from europe/wales, put it in a movie, it will be termed within the fantasy genre, the Norse gods, the Greek gods are under fantasy! clash of the Titans is a fantasy movie, there's nothing like folklore movie.... dream or not, it is a movie about China folklore and can be used as an example in this argument
There is no thin line. Oduduwa, Obatala, etc, is part of Yoruba folklore. If you put a white character to be slave in a folklore movie consisting of Oduduwa, and Obatala, will that not look somehow?
Dragons are part of European folklore. Seeing black aristocrats characters in such settings is somehow.
And black people should stop justifying it solely based on racial issues.
felixnkubi: have you not watched forbidden kingdom, the movie with Jackie chan and jet li, they even made the white dude the chosen one! show had by far China most respected folklore character in it! am talking of monkey king
Forbidden Kingdom is not folklore but fantasy.
The plot centered around a South Boston teenager Jason Tripitikas, who is a fan of martial arts films.
It was through his dreams of a battle between Sun Wukong and celestial soldiers in the clouds, that he later visits a pawn shop in Chinatown to buy wuxia DVDs and discovers a golden staff...
Chinatown, Boston, and DVDs can't be regarded as part of folklore.
The Great Wall movie setting was after the construction of Great Wall.
Hence, the Great Wall of China period is not a folklore period. Because it has a historical date and event clearly documented, which is around1368-1644. During this period, Europeans have been trading with the Asians. Even Marco Polo one of the foremost European adventurer to Asia traveled there around 1271– 1295.
Folklore period are usually termed "Pre-historical" period.
But are blacks been mixing with Europeans during the period/settings used for HoTD or TRoP?
GRIMMJOE: If I want to put a white man in my tribal folklore I can do it.
It's folklore, not history I can see your brain dead, avoid me, don't quote me.
Lol. You're suffering from low esteem. What role will a white man play in your folklore? A slaver or a slave? Or a white man will play a king character in your hometown? Be realistic bro.
Frostyzone: Your posts reeks of arrogant ignorance atypical with house negroes.
Dark skinned characters have been a part of European folklores since the dawn of time. European folklores have species ranging from Humans, leprechauns to dragons and minataurs. These species come in all kinds of skin coloration ranging from white, green to brown and black. Greeks folklores have Ethiopians in them. The Dutch have a black figure in their folklore called black Pete. The Scandinavians have black elves, dwarves. Etc.
The construct that TRoP is white folklore and hence shouldn't have blacks in it is a construct borne out of ignorance and hatred. It's a racist construct that has no place in the 21st century.
You're the ignorant here. Which blacks in white folklore, to the extent of being a high class? Face reality. It's white folklore, there is nothing concerning black race in it.
It's like a Yoruba folklore having "okonkwo" inside. Or Igbo folklore having "Akanbi omo olodo ide" Does that make sense? Does that make those folklore writers a tribalist?
You're the one thinking your race not being in white folklore makes your race less human.
rollywise: Coz you'll never do anything in this life for anyone when there's nothing in it for you. That's the life you are use to. But that woman, and I, and many other visionary Nigerians are changing the status quo
Frostyzone: You lot are basically regurgitating the racist rhetorics of white conservatives. Like dude, look at your skin ffs. You're a black man, you're basically agreeing with white supremacist that you're subhuman.
I find it funny when these self loathing black folks appropriate racist ideologies that were designed to denigrate people of color and parrot these ideologies just to "own the libs". Like dude, you ain't white. By denigrating inclusiveness and political progression, you're basically admitting that you're inferior to your white masters. If inclusiveness = wokeness/political correctness, then I'm woke asf.
Wise up y'all ffs.
Be calming down bro. African folklore doesn't include white, why will white folklore include blacks? Most especially black aristocrats with white hair. Face reality, this is not an issue of racism. Except you have low self-esteem of your race.
Dotng: Your perception is as a result of conditioning.
There can never be too much blacks in a movie. This is the age of color. Not the black and white age. Anyone with sense will include as many people of color as possible.
It was even better than House of Dragon which used a "very black" man with white hair. I mean, though it may be possible like blacks in the Solomon Islands, that's not a usual thing among blacks. Plus a black noble in a prehistory period married a white princess? Nah.
TINUBU UNVEILED! There will be a 30 minutes documentary on @officialABAT at 7: 30pm on TVC tonight. Monday, 05 Sept 2022 on Channels for 6:30 pm and AIT on Wednesday, Sept 07, 2022. 6:30 pm. Watch out.
Tunjibalogun: I find it very hard to believe the ignorance that any storey building that collapses in Nigeria were built by quacks. That's not true. I made little findings that 80% of buildings that collapse in lagos are actually managed by civil engineers and architects. Human error is human error. We need to actually set up a standard instead of blaming non existent quacks
They are actually quacks either by moral standards or by professional standards.
TBH, many professionals (even outside the construction industry) don't know jack.
Or are they not the same most students that struggled to finished with Pass, third class and 2.51 CGPA of 2.2 class?
Aside from the fact that many of these engineers struggled to pass "Structural Mechanics" courses in school with Es and Ds grades, they also lack moral ethics.
Many of them will use blocks of 1:10 mix or concrete of 1:5:10 mix for work with a standard of 1:4 mix of blocks or 1:2:4 of reinforced concrete respectively.
They will use an 8mm iron rod for work they are supposed to use 12/16mm.
They will dig a trench of 450mm deep for work they're supposed to dig 1m deep.
See ehen, professionals in Naija are something else. All they care about is money.
They'll spend 70% of the project cost themselves, and will now be managing the 30% to complete the job.
If the job can't be completed they will spend "contingency" and if that one can't finish the job, they'll ask for variation. If the client couldn't pay additional money, they'll abandon the project.
Agboriotejoye: Masiyiwa the owner never said that. Tinubu is not in a position to know which state was first to invest because he does not work for Econet so he can't know who or what they were working with. Besides, you can't be first to invest and be a secondary shareholder. It is because you're ignorant that you believe Tinubu was first to invest yet Oba Otudeko was first board chairman. The chairman of a corporate outfit is usually the majority shareholder from one of those who hold primary shares. If Lagos had 10% primary shares, Lagos state will automatically have the right to appoint the board chairman. But we all know Oba Otudeko and not Lagos state was the board chairman. You're a daft, ignorant punk
