For many parents, the birth of a child is a moment of joy and hope. But for the family of Ode Lawson Ogamenyi, that joy soon turned into fear and uncertainty when they discovered that their son could not hear. Today, years later, the same child who was once seen as having an uncertain future has become a university graduate, completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and emerged as a respected disability rights advocate, writer and founder of the Ode Ogamenyi Foundation. His story is one of resilience, faith and determination. Sharing his story with IDOMA VOICE, Ogamenyi said his mother became seriously ill while pregnant with him. Fearing for her health, she bought medication from a pharmacy without first consulting a doctor. Although no medical evidence has established the cause of his hearing loss, she has often wondered whether the illness or the medication contributed to his deafness. The family discovered he was deaf while he was still a baby. "My mother discovered that I could not hear while she was bathing me at my late grandparents' house," he recalled. The discovery devastated the family. His mother wept endlessly and travelled from one hospital to another, including medical facilities in Enugu, hoping doctors could restore his hearing. Every effort, however, ended in disappointment. His late grandmother, Jumaima, was equally heartbroken, worrying about what the future held for the young boy. Amid the despair, one voice offered hope. His aunt, Pamela, encouraged his mother not to give up. "Do not lose hope. This child will go to school and become a great and educated person," she assured her. Those words, Ogamenyi says, became the foundation upon which his future was built. Despite growing up with a hearing disability, Ogamenyi refused to allow his condition to define him. He persevered through discrimination, rejection and misunderstanding, determined to pursue an education. His determination paid off. He successfully completed his primary and secondary education, earned a university degree and fulfilled the mandatory National Youth Service Corps scheme. Looking back on his journey, he describes his achievements as proof that disability does not determine destiny. "The devil tried, but he could not stop the plan God had for my life," he said. Rather than allowing his experiences to discourage him, Ogamenyi chose to become a voice for others living with disabilities. Today, he is a disability rights advocate, writer and founder of the Ode Ogamenyi Foundation, where he campaigns for inclusion and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. He hopes his story will encourage parents never to abandon children born with disabilities. "My disability is not my limitation. My faith is stronger than my challenges," he said. He also urged persons living with disabilities not to lose hope. "Your condition does not determine your destiny. Keep believing, keep learning and keep moving forward." Ogamenyi said one of his greatest joys is seeing younger deaf relatives, including Samuel Adama and Oche Ode, grow up knowing that their disability does not define their future. "They can see that being deaf is not the end of life. It is possible to dream, learn, succeed and make a difference," he said. He expressed gratitude to his mother, siblings, extended family and friends for standing by him throughout his journey, adding that he believes his late parents and grandmother would be proud of what he has become. As he reflects on his life, Ogamenyi remains convinced that faith, family support and determination can overcome even the greatest obstacles. His message is simple but powerful: "The devil may try to delay your journey, but he can never stop the destiny that God has prepared for you." For many in the Idoma community and beyond, Ode Lawson Ogamenyi's story is more than a personal testimony—it is a reminder that disability is not inability, and that with opportunity, support and perseverance, extraordinary dreams can become reality. source:: https://idomavoice.com/born-deaf-now-a-graduate-how-an-idoma-son-ogamenyi-defied-the-odds-to-earn-university-degree-complete-nysc/

By Ameh Godwin & Abah Rapheal and Agbenue James SOURCE: https://idomavoice.com/one-year-after-yelwata-massacre-the-wounds-refuse-to-heal/ One year ago today, Yelwata stood still. What was once a bustling farming community on the Makurdi-Abuja highway became the scene of one of the deadliest massacres in Benue State's history. IDOMA VOICE recalls that in a single night of horror, hundreds of men, women and children were slaughtered, burnt alive in market stores, churches and shelters where they had sought refuge from an attack many residents had feared was coming. Twelve months later, the smoke has disappeared from the ruins, but the pain remains. The scars of June 13 and 14, 2025, are still visible across the community. Burnt buildings remain standing as grim reminders of the carnage. Roofless homes and blackened walls continue to line parts of the town. Families who lost loved ones still struggle to rebuild their lives, while many survivors remain displaced, traumatized and uncertain about the future. For Yelwata, time has moved forward. Healing has not. Residents remember the night with painful clarity. Gunfire shattered the silence as suspected armed herdsmen descended on the community. Homes, market stores and shelters housing displaced persons were set ablaze. Those who fled were hunted down. Others were trapped in burning buildings. By morning, entire families had been wiped out. Among the victims was Pharmacist Matthew Iormba, a brilliant young graduate who had returned home after completing his housemanship. There was also young Lucy Tsegba, who lost her mother and five siblings in the inferno. Countless other victims never made the headlines. Many died anonymously in the flames that engulfed market stores where villagers had gathered to sleep for safety. Some bodies were burnt beyond recognition. Others were never properly identified. The exact death toll remains disputed. While official figures released by the Benue State Government placed the number of deaths at 59, survivors, community leaders and independent observers insist that well over 300 people were killed. For residents of Yelwata, the argument over numbers has become another source of pain. To them, the tragedy cannot be measured by statistics. It is measured by empty compounds, abandoned farms, orphaned children and families whose bloodlines were erased in a single night. Before the attack, Yelwata was known for its vibrant agricultural economy. The community served as a major commercial hub where farmers sold yam, maize, rice, soybeans and other produce. Traders moved freely between Benue, Nasarawa and Abuja. Markets bustled with activity. Today, much of that energy is gone. Many families who fled have never returned. Businesses that once sustained households remain shut. Several buildings destroyed during the attack have not been rebuilt. Walking through parts of the community today is a painful reminder of what happened. Charred walls still stand. Collapsed structures remain untouched. The ruins have become monuments of grief. Residents say fear continues to shape everyday life. Many still avoid sleeping in isolated locations. Others remain haunted by memories of that night. The attack did not simply destroy buildings. It shattered a way of life. In the months following the massacre, efforts were made by individuals and humanitarian groups to help survivors rebuild. One of the most notable interventions came from Christian missionary Alex Bardir, who mobilized resources to reconstruct some of the destroyed homes and assist affected families. For many survivors, his intervention represented one of the few tangible signs of hope. However, community members say broader reconstruction efforts never gained the momentum required to restore the town. Residents have repeatedly complained that bureaucratic obstacles and official frustrations slowed private rebuilding initiatives that could have accelerated recovery. As a result, many victims remain without adequate housing one year later. Several families continue to rely on temporary arrangements while awaiting meaningful support. The handling of the Yelewata tragedy continues to generate debate. Critics point to the delayed response following the massacre, the controversy surrounding casualty figures and the absence of comprehensive reconstruction efforts. Many residents argue that beyond condolences and official visits, little has changed on the ground. The most visible government intervention remains the monument erected in memory of the victims. While many acknowledge the symbolic importance of honouring those who died, survivors insist that remembrance alone cannot address the realities confronting affected families. A monument cannot rebuild a home. A monument cannot replace a father, mother or child. A monument cannot restore livelihoods lost in a single night. For many in Yelewata, justice, security and reconstruction remain the true tests of government commitment. One year later, several questions continue to haunt survivors. Who planned the attack? Who carried it out? Why were warnings allegedly ignored? Why have so few answers emerged despite the scale of the tragedy? For many families, accountability remains elusive. The demand for justice has not faded with time. Neither has the grief. Anniversaries often invite reflection. For Yelwata, this anniversary is not merely a date on the calendar. It is a reminder of lives interrupted, dreams destroyed and a community still searching for closure. The names of those who died continue to echo across the town. Their absence is felt in homes, churches, schools and farms. Children who lost parents are growing up without them. Parents who buried children carry wounds that no passage of time can erase. Widows and widowers continue to navigate a future they never imagined. As Benue remembers the victims of the Yelewata massacre today, the challenge extends beyond memorial ceremonies and public statements. The real tribute lies in ensuring that survivors are not forgotten. It lies in rebuilding what was destroyed. It lies in delivering justice. And it lies in guaranteeing that no community in Benue State will ever again experience a night like June 13, 2025. One year later, Yelewata still waits. The fires may have gone out. But the wounds remain open.

The Court of Appeal, Makurdi Division, on Tuesday dismissed Appeal No. CA/MKD/119/2024 filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), affirming the judgment of the Makurdi High Court which nullified the dissolution of the Augustine Agada-led Benue State Executive Committee of the party. The appellate court upheld the earlier decision of Justice T.A. Kume of the Makurdi High Court, which declared the dissolution of the Agada-led State Executive Committee by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC unlawful and invalid. In the lead judgment delivered on behalf of the Presiding Justice, the court held that all five issues raised by counsel to the appellant, S.D. Swem Esq., and adopted and argued by M.T. Alyebo Esq., counsel to Hon. Augustine Agada and eight others, were resolved against the APC and in favour of Agada. The court also affirmed the consequential order of the trial court declaring that all actions taken by the Benjamin Omale-led Caretaker Committee were “null and void and of no effect whatsoever.” Benjamin Omale, who was listed as the 10th respondent in the appeal, aligned himself with the arguments advanced by the APC but did not file any separate process before the court. Reacting to the judgment, Hon. Augustine Agada expressed confidence in the judiciary's ability to uphold justice and called on members of the party to remain calm and united. The ruling effectively reinforces the legitimacy of the Agada-led State Working Committee as the recognized leadership of the APC in Benue State.

The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche, on Sunday donated a patrol vehicle to the Federal Road Safety Corps operating along Airport Road in Lugbe, Abuja, IDOMA VOICE reports. The gesture formed part of the church’s continued commitment to supporting public safety and emergency response services within the Federal Capital Territory. Speaking during the presentation, Enenche said deliverances, miracles, signs and wonders should not be limited to spiritual healing alone but must also extend to practical interventions that improve lives physically and socially. “Deliverances, miracles, signs and wonders do not end with spiritual healing alone. They must also extend, as much as possible, to the physical things we can do to impact lives and society,” he said. The cleric disclosed that the ministry had previously donated vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force to support security operations. “I believe we also gave two vehicles to the police there — one initially and another later — to support their assignments,” he added. He further revealed that the church had installed electrical transformers in several communities to improve power supply. In addition, Enenche officially dedicated a fire service facility established by the church to respond to emergencies along the Airport Road corridor. “The fire truck and trained fire personnel are already on ground and will respond to emergency calls along Airport Road, whether it involves a vehicle fire, a house fire or any related incident,” he stated. Receiving the patrol vehicle on behalf of the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, the Federal Capital Territory Corps Commander, Felix Theman, expressed appreciation to Enenche and his wife for their continued support toward road safety operations. The Corps also conferred on Pastor Enenche and his wife the highest honour of Honorary Special Marshals of the Federal Road Safety Corps. Describing the recognition as a call to greater responsibility, Theman said: “This honour comes with significant responsibility. We are only giving you a label for more work, and we believe the Lord will strengthen you for it.” He urged members of the church and viewers across various centres to emulate the cleric by becoming advocates of road safety. “Since our Senior Pastor has become an advocate for safety, everyone here and those watching from viewing centres should also become road safety ambassadors by obeying traffic rules and avoiding overspeeding,” he said. https://idomavoice.com/pastor-enenche-donates-patrol-vehicle-to-support-frsc-operations-in-abuja/

The Idoma International Carnival further commended the initiative, stressing that it aligns with its vision of uplifting the people of Zone C through educational advancement, empowerment, and social development. “We believe such a collaboration will not only support educational advancement but also inspire hope and resilience among our youth,” the Committee added, noting that the scheme would create lasting impact during the Carnival and beyond. The Planning Committee confirmed its willingness to meet with the Audacity of Grace team to discuss modalities, with the Carnival Secretariat tasked to agree on a convenient date. The scholarship programme is expected to be highlighted during the 2025 edition of the Carnival in Otukpo, reinforcing the festival’s tradition of blending culture, celebration, and community development. The Idoma International Carnival is an annual cultural festival held in Otukpo, Benue State, that showcases the rich heritage, unity, and resilience of the Idoma people. Beyond its parades, music, and traditional displays, the Carnival has increasingly become a platform for social advocacy, empowerment, and youth development, drawing participants from across Nigeria and the diaspora.

The founder and senior pastor of Miracle Centre Cathedral, Kampala, Robert Kayanja, and Nigerian business mogul, Cosmas Maduka of Coscharis Group, were among prominent figures who attended the opening night of the Healing and Deliverance Crusade hosted by Dr Paul and Dr Becky Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Kampala, Uganda. The crusade, themed “Dominion”, is holding at Millennium Park, Lugogo Jinja Road, and has drawn thousands of worshippers from across Uganda and neighboring countries. In his introductory remarks, Pastor Robert Kayanja described Dr Paul Enenche and his wife as “messengers sent by God to this generation,” lauding their consistency in ministry and dedication to the gospel despite successful medical career. “We are privileged because God has allowed him to come to Uganda at such a time like this. He has come because of his passion to pray for the sick, to teach and to preach. But I feel in my heart he has come for you pastors,” Kayanja said. The Miracle Centre founder recalled visiting the Enenche ministry in its early years, noting that the faith and anointing upon the couple have remained unmatched. He further described Dr Enenche as a dynamic teacher, prolific writer, and a pastor whose impact transcends Nigeria to Africa and the world. “When you look at the Glory Dome in Abuja, that church can’t succeed unless the man has a gift, a calling, a wonderful partner, and a special grace,” he added, commending the Enenche family as models of faith, miracles, and Christian marriage. Also in attendance was Cosmas Maduka, President of Coscharis Group, who coincidentally met Dr Enenche and his entourage at their hotel before the crusade. Maduka, who later addressed the gathering, urged the congregation to be expectant, assuring them that God would use His servant to touch lives in Uganda. The crusade featured diverse testimonies and miracles. Among them was the healing of a 15-year-old boy who had suffered ulnar nerve paralysis from birth, as well as the instant healing of a woman who endured uterovesical prolapse for two years. The Healing and Deliverance Crusade continues this week, with multitudes expected to converge daily for worship, teaching, and encounters with the power of God.

The Coalition Against Impunity has declared that the ongoing trial of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is a litmus test for Nigeria’s democratic integrity, insisting that the law must take its full course to end the culture of falsehood in politics. Speaking ahead of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s appearance at the Federal High Court in Abuja today, the Chairman of the group, Ambassador Olufemi Ayoade, condemned what he described as a pattern of reckless allegations and political blackmail by the Kogi-born lawmaker. “Natasha Akpoti must be held accountable. It’s time to end the politics of lies in Nigeria,” Ayoade stated. “The courtroom is not just a venue for justice today — it is a battlefield for truth in our democracy.” The trial follows a petition by Senate President Godswill Akpabio over an explosive allegation made by Akpoti-Uduaghan, claiming that Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello plotted to assassinate her — a claim the Coalition says was not only baseless but dangerously inflammatory. “This is not a personal grudge. This is about protecting the dignity of our institutions from malicious falsehoods,” Ayoade continued. “Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan's actions were not just politically motivated, but also an insult to genuine victims of violence and to women in leadership who fight daily to be heard based on merit, not drama.” The Coalition emphasized that allowing such unsubstantiated claims to go unpunished would encourage a dangerous precedent where politicians exploit public sentiment for personal gain. “Too often in Nigeria, public figures make outrageous statements with no consequences. That must stop. This trial must send a clear message — politics must not be reduced to propaganda, slander, and reckless drama,” the Coalition said. As proceedings commence, all eyes are on the Federal High Court to determine not just the truth of the matter, but the willingness of the Nigerian judiciary to defend its institutions against the erosion of truth. “Let justice be done, and let this mark the beginning of a new era where integrity matters more than theatrics,” the Coalition concluded.

The Good Governance Group, a pro-democracy advocacy platform, has called on Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, to clarify his political intentions ahead of the 2027 elections in Bauchi State. The group expressed concern over what it described as the Minister’s increasing focus on state politics at the expense of his national responsibilities. In a statement issued on Wednesday , the group criticized what it described as a growing pattern of absentee leadership at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citing delays in diplomatic coordination, dwindling visibility in regional affairs, and underperformance in managing Nigeria’s foreign missions. “At a time when Nigeria’s global standing requires clear-headed leadership and focus, it is worrisome that the Minister appears more engrossed in grassroots political activity in Bauchi than in delivering on his constitutional mandate.” The group also referenced recent tensions allegedly fueled by persons close to the Minister, warning that such distractions not only affect national governance but risk destabilizing Bauchi’s political atmosphere ahead of the 2027 elections. “While Ambassador Tuggar is within his rights to seek elective office, the honorable course would be to resign and pursue his ambition without undermining the crucial role he currently occupies,” the group added. The group led by the Chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Isah said, “We will not sit idly while reckless children of failed public officials turn Bauchi into a battlefield for their ego wars. “We will not be cowed by bullies in fine suits who mistake their father’s appointment for personal achievement. The attack on Shamsudeen Mohammed was not just a baseless and needless altercation. On Tuggar’s son Adam rubbing shoulders with Shamsudeen, the group described his attitude as ”’shameful and classless ” “This isn’t politics, this is a shameful, classless, pedestrian behavior of an entitled child who has never been disciplined, never been made to earn respect, and clearly never been taught the difference between privilege and responsibility. “Therefore we make it clear that, “Shamsudeen Bala Mohammed doesn’t need a rented title or a father in a suit to make waves. He is grounded, respected, and stands tall beside a working governor who has delivered real results for Bauchi State. Can the same be said for you, Adam? “Therefore Bauchi deserves focused leadership. Nigeria’s foreign policy deserves a committed helmsman. It’s time to choose.”

The Concerned Christian Youth Forum has pledged to mediate in the case of Apostle Festus Alilu’s arrest. Apostle Alilu, the senior pastor of Word of Power Gospel Church International in Ughelli, Delta State, was taken into police custody on Thursday following allegations of defamation against Pastor Korede Komaiya of The Master’s Place International Church. His arrest followed a viral video in which he accused Pastor Komaiya of misleading church members with fabricated prosperity teachings. Reacting, the group in a statement by its convener, Adama Paul James, clarified that Pastor Komaiya did not initiate the arrest, stating that it was carried out by some of his followers. The forum condemned the verbal attack on Pastor Komaiya and emphasized the need to uphold dignity and respect for Christian leaders while urging an amicable resolution to the matter. Adama said, “The attention of the Concerned Christian Youth Forum has been drawn to the arrest of one Apostle Festus Alilu over an alleged defamatory video he made against Pastor Korede Komaiya. “We have watched the said video with due circumspection on social media and the Concerned Christian Youth Forum hereby condemn in totality the verbal attack of Apostle Festus Alilu on the person of Pastor Korede Komaiya. “We consider this attack unprovoked and unwarranted, and we consequently wish to extend our sincere apologies to Pastor Komaiya on behalf of our community. “Upon further inquiries, we discovered that the arrest of Apostle Alilu was not initiated by Pastor Komaiya himself but by some of his followers. This highlights the importance of considering and verifying facts before drawing conclusions or making accusations. “The Concerned Christian Youth Forum is stepping in with the hope of finding an amicable resolution to this matter. “We would like to use this opportunity to make it clear that attacks on the Christian Faith and its Leaders will no longer be tolerated. We are ready to take all necessary steps to vigorously defend Christianity and its leaders in Nigeria. “We encourage everyone to respect the Christian Faith and avoid making derogatory comments or attacks on any religion. Such unruly behaviour has no place in our society and must be stopped forthwith. “The Concerned Christian Youth Forum is committed to ensuring that the Christian faith and its leaders are treated with utmost dignity and respect they deserve.” https://idomavoice.com/concerned-christian-youth-forum-to-intervene-over-arrest-of-apostle-festus-alilu/

https://idomavoice.com/two-weeks-after-ncc-yet-to-shut-down-pornographic-websites-in-nigeria/ Two weeks after the House of Representatives directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to shut down access to pornographic websites nationwide, investigations by IDOMA VOICE reveal that the directive has yet to be implemented. On Tuesday, March 11, the House of Representatives mandated the NCC, Nigeria’s telecoms regulatory body, to enforce the ban, aiming to curb what lawmakers described as a growing moral and social concern. The motion, sponsored by Hon. Dalhatu Tafoki, who represents the Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa Federal Constituency, sought urgent action against online pornography, citing its negative impact on societal values. “I would like to move a motion for the need to block internet websites hosting pornographic content and sanction the internet service providers responsible for the posting. The House notes that cyber pornography is fast becoming a global problem, and no concrete steps have been taken to curb its phenomenon in Nigeria,” Tafoki stated. The directive has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians, with critics questioning its feasibility and prioritization, while others argue that internet censorship should not be a legislative focus. Despite the House’s resolution, IDOMA VOICE investigations on Thursday confirmed that major pornographic websites remain accessible across Nigeria. Efforts to obtain a response from the NCC regarding the delay in enforcement proved unsuccessful.

https://youtube.com/shorts/XeRVleNVLiQ The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has explained why he does not call for offerings during crusades. Dr. Enenche, who has been organizing large-scale crusades across various states in Nigeria, most recently in Borno State, stated that the primary objective of these gatherings is solely for soul-winning. He stated that despite the significant financial cost of hosting these crusades, running into millions of naira, he remains committed to ensuring that no offering is collected from attendees. According to Dr. Enenche, the focus of the crusades is to bring people to Christ without any financial burden or distractions, reinforcing his belief in spreading the gospel freely. “That is why there is no need, no use, and no reason to take offerings at crusade grounds. “First of all, we didn’t go there to preach and take money from sinners. We came to preach and take their souls to God. “Imagine someone coming to be saved, and you tell them to bring an offering. How does that make sense? Someone arrives drunk or high on drugs, and you pass an offering basket to them—what are they paying for? They might even ask, "Is it a stick of cigarette I’m paying for? What exactly am I getting in return for this payment?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qvXsbOAnzs Maiduguri, the heart of Borno State—once considered a no-go area due to years of insecurity—witnessed an unprecedented divine invasion. Where others feared, Dr. Paul Enenche and his team dared. Just 24 hours after concluding a powerful crusade in Anambra, he stormed the city of Maiduguri, to bring the message of healing, deliverance, and hope to thousands. IDOMA VOICE observed that the Maiduguri Healing and Deliverance Crusade was more than just a gathering; it was a divine appointment. The turnout defied all expectations—thousands from across the region, from different walks of life, flooded the RAMAT SQUARE, eager to encounter God in a way many had never experienced before. Dr. Paul Enenche’s commitment to reaching every corner of the earth aligns with the mission of Dunamis International Gospel Centre—until the earth is saturated with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea. And Maiduguri was no exception. As the night progressed, miracles unfolded. The sick received healing, captives were set free, and the atmosphere was charged with the undeniable presence of God. This was not just a crusade, it was a divine encounter. From the worship to the word, from the healings to the deliverance, the Maiduguri Healing and Deliverance Crusade will be remembered as moments when heaven touched the earth in Borno State. And so, the mission continues. From city to city, from state to state, Dr. Paul Enenche remains committed to carrying the fire of revival. Because where others see fear, faith takes a stand. Where darkness looms, light breaks through. And as long as the earth remains, the knowledge of the glory of God will continue to spread, just as the waters cover the sea. https://idomavoice.com/maiduguri-crusade-day-dr-paul-enenche-ignited-a-fire-of-revival-in-borno-state/

The Concerned Christian Youth Forum has condemned the recent disrespectful and abusive remarks made by Omoyele Sowore against Christian leaders in Nigeria. The group said Sowore’s continuous attacks on the faith and its revered leaders are not only unacceptable but also a dangerous provocation that could incite unrest. CCYF, in a statement signed by its Convener, Adama Paul James, said it is alarming that Sowore, in his desperate bid for relevance, has resorted to belittling highly accomplished and respected spiritual figures, falsely portraying them as failures or uneducated. The statement reads below: “We, the Concerned Christian Youth Forum, have recently learned of the disrespectful and abusive comments made by Omoyele Sowore against Christian leaders in general. This behavior is completely unacceptable. “To label our Fathers of Faith and Pastors as failures, uneducated, or jobless is preposterous, egregiously disrespectful, and therefore unacceptable. The time has come to put an end to Sowore's incessant attacks on the Christian Faith and her reputable leaders. “It is a shame that he, Sowore, has chosen to denigrate the accomplishments and contributions of some of the most revered Fathers of our Faith and Pastors in our country, each of whom has achieved remarkable success in their respective fields. “Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Pastor D.K. Olukoya, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Apostle Johnson Suleman, Pastor Poju Oyemade, Apostle Joshua Selman, Pastor Jerry Eze, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, Pastor Godman Akinlabi, Pastor Emmanuel Iren, Pastor Korede Komaiya, and many others—too numerous to mention—possess impressive academic achievements, not to mention their years of service and devotion to their faith. “Sowore should reflect on the fact that these individuals are not only spiritual leaders but also intellectual heavyweights who have earned the respect and admiration of millions of believers around the world. Academically, Sowore is a dwarf where most of these men are standing. How can a sane man refer to a First-Class graduate of Mathematics or a Professor of Mathematics as uneducated? “It is apparent that Sowore's insults are not grounded in reality but rather in ignorance and hate. His insults further confirm that he is an uncouth, uncultured, and unlearned man who is desperately seeking attention and relevance. “We urge him to rethink his approach and refrain from further attacks against Christianity and her leaders. The Concerned Christian Youth Forum will not stand idly by and watch our Faith and leaders disrespected and maligned by Sowore. “This is to serve as a strong note of warning to Omoyele Sowore and his ilk that any further attacks on Christianity or Christian leaders will be met with a stronger response. Sowore should be mindful that his misguided words and actions have far-reaching consequences, even capable of causing a breakdown of law and order. He should be held accountable for his reckless, rascally, and ignoble role in inciting social and religious disturbance in a volatile society such as ours. “We, the Concerned Christian Youth Forum, stand in solidarity with our Christian Leaders and our Faith. We will not tolerate any further attacks against them, and we will continue to defend their honor and integrity. We wish to draw the attention of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the potential danger of Sowore's rascality, especially as it borders on religious sensitivity and its implications for national peace and security.”
