Crime / NDLEA Arrest Wanted Drug Dealer Inside Popular Church In Lagos (VIDEO) by owukpa(m): 1:47pm On Aug 22, 2021

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNZjYL_Z3mI

A major drug dealer wanted for attempting to export 69.65kilograms of cocaine, heroin and cannabis to the United Kingdom through the NAHCO export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, has been arrested at a church in Ojodu, Ikeja area of Lagos state.
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, had traced the wanted drug dealer, Stephen Afam Ikeanyionwu, on Sunday 15th August, 2021, to a popular pentecostal church at Mike Ajari street, Ojodu Berger, where they arrested him soon after he stepped out of the church service.

His arrest followed the interception of a consignment of illicit drugs weighing 69.65kg going to the UK through the Lagos airport on Thursday, 12th August, 2021. The illegal baggage had been sent to the airport for export through a freight forwarding company, which in turn gave a driver to deliver at the NAHCO export shed. Following the arrest of the driver, follow up operations and investigations later revealed the true identity of the actual owner of the consignment, Stephen Afam Ikeanyionwu, who was arrested three days later in a sting operation.

Also at the Lagos airport, NDLEA operatives arrested an Italy-bound passenger, Abibu Miminu, during the outward clearance of passengers on Ethiopian Airways flight to Italy via Addis-Ababa for ingesting illicit drugs. While under observation at the Agency’s facility between Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th August, 2021, the trafficker excreted 68 wraps of heroin in three excretions, all weighing 800grams.
In the same vein, narcotic officers of the Directorate of Operation and General Investigation have intercepted at two courier companies in Lagos 840 grams of Methamphetamine going to Australia and concealed in bolts; 340 grams of Meth hidden in locally made footwears and also going to Australia; 1kilogram of cocaine coming from Ghana with UK as destination and concealed in four local guitars. Also seized from one of the courier firms is another 480grams of Meth concealed in footwears and going to Australia.

Meanwhile, a South Africa returnee, Obi Chigozie Samuel, was also last Sunday arrested at the Lagos airport during the inward clearance of Ethiopian Airlines from Addis-Abbaba, for importing 58grams of skunk into Nigeria. During preliminary interview, he admitted ownership and claimed to be a cannabis smoker.

In strings of operations in Edo, Ondo, Kaduna, Kano and Kogi states, at least 2,504.8 kilograms of diverse illicit drugs were seized from multiple suspects in the past week. In Kogi, 60-year-old Mrs Comfort Uzor was arrested with 62.1kg cannabis on Tuesday, 17th August, 2021 in Lokoja, where one Dayyabu Usman was also caught with 8kg of same substance. While Uzor sourced hers from Bolorunduro in Ondo state and was heading to Abuja, Usman got his from Lagos and was taking it to Kano for sale.

In Kaduna state, operatives of the Birnin Gwari Area Command of the Agency raided the home of one Mr Joseph Sunday at Ungwa Pama, Kaduna where they recovered 48.3kg of cannabis from his room following credible intelligence.

In Edo state, NDLEA officers on Tuesday 17th August stormed the Ugbuwe forest in Ovia North East LGA, where they seized146 bags of cannabis sativa weighing 2,044 kilograms, while in Kano state, one Ikechukwu Aleke was arrested with 30,000 tablets of Tramadol 225mg and 99 bottles of Codeine syrup, in addition to the arrest of one Muktar Muhammad, with 370 bottles of Codeine cough syrup, weighing 60.4kg, as well as 900 tablets of Rohypnol. Also arrested in Kano was Sufiyanu Abubakar, 24, with 400 plastic bottles of Codeine cough syrup weighing 52kg as well as one Mutta Hassan Wada, who specializes in using courier firms to send drugs to a recipient in China, using cooking spices bottles for concealment.

In Ondo state, over 77.5kilograms of cannabis and monkey tail were intercepted on Saturday 21st August at Odigbo town in Odigbo LGA, where operatives arrested one Basiru Ijiniga. Also arrested on Saturday was Ibrahim Umaru in Sabo area of Akure South LGA. Recovered from him include different quantities of psychotropic substances like Diazepam, Tramadol, Swinol and Rophynol.
Reacting to the strings of arrests and seizures in the past week across some states and the MMIA, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) commended the officers and men of the various commands for their unrelenting commitment to the presidential mandate to clear Nigerian forests and communities of illicit drugs in whatever form. “We have all laid our hands on the plough, there’s no looking back, no retreat or surrender and as such I urge all our officers and men to intensify the ongoing offensive action until the last gram of illicit drug is taken away from merchants of death”, Gen. Marwa stated on Sunday.

Sports / Samuel Okwaraji Died 32 Years Ago by owukpa(m): 9:50am On Aug 12, 2021

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0f2LgNSfRE

On the 12th of August, 1989, while he was playing for Nigeria in a 2nd round World Cup Qualifier match (Group C, Italia World Cup) against Angola, Samuel Okwaraji slumped on the pitch and died immediately. It was 77 minutes into the match. Right there, in front of 20,000 Nigerians at the Main Bowl of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, the Green Eagles were thrown into disarray while the Palancas Negras of Angola forgot the competition and joined in the futile attempts to revive him.

His body was then taken to the National Stadium Clinic where he was covered up, and from there to the General Hospital. The thousands of Nigerians who came to cheer him to glory left the stadium under a dark cloud of grief. Many would never forget that ominous day. It was just about 10 minutes to the final whistle. Okwaraji was 25. Autopsy revealed he died from high blood pressure-induced congestive heart failure (which occurs when the heart is unable to provide sufficient pump action to ensure enough blood goes round the body). His heart was discovered to be enlarged -not a good sign in medicine. Okwaraji literally played his heart out for Nigeria.

He had just signed a $500,000 contract with Berchem FC of Antwerp, Belgium.

The Green Eagles on that day, apart from Okwaraji, were:

-David Ngodigha

-Augustine Eguavoen

-Stephen Keshi

-Sunday Eboigbe

-Obobaifo Osaro (now of blessed memory)

-Ademola Adesina

-Uchenna Okafor (now of blessed memory)

-Humphrey Edobor

-Samson Siasia

-Etim Esim

-Dahiru Sadi (substituted Edobor in the second half) Nigeria won the match: 1-0. But we lost the gallant Okwaraji. Forever.

That fateful day in the newly-refurbished stadium, one of the very last people that Okwaraji (he made the national squad in 1988) met and spoke with was David Ngodigha, a former goalkeeper for Nigeria and later the coach for Bayelsa United FC. They were both in the Nigerian national team and were roommates at the Seoul Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea in 1988 while both of them were playing under German coach Manfred Hoener and Clemens Westerhof of the Netherlands.

However, their friendship was forged long before they started playing for Nigeria. He was with Okwaraji before the ill-fated match and narrates: “I had known Sam way back while I was in Port Harcourt. But our paths really crossed during the Olympic qualifying games for Seoul ’88. We were roommates then and with Sam you can hardly find a dull moment because he is, sorry he was a down-to-earth person.”

Then he stated that shortly before the match, Sam, who was known for his calm and friendly character became a bit aggressive. On the morning of the match, he shouted at one of the staff in their hotel and that gave him serious concern: “Since I knew Sam, I had never seen him in that mood before and I must say I was so disturbed because this was a man that will allow nothing disturb him before, during or after any match. And suddenly Sam started telling how important the game against Angola was. And he kept talking about the game and this was quite unusual because instead we will joke and then he will call his Italian girlfriend, who I knew, on telephone and they will speak for about six hours.” Then he added that may the late Sam was being emotional because of the nature of the match: “I think Sam was also mindful that he was going to play in Lagos for the first time coupled with the publicity that was built around him before the game.” “

Sam on that day seemed to know that he was leaving. So he told me in his exact words that ‘I am perching on the scrotum of someone. That person wants to strike but he is being careful not to strike and miss.’ Back then I didn’t really understand what he was talking about. And he also warned me to be careful because he has done his best and might not be around for too long.” He was later shocked when his Sam’s cousin came to pack his belongings in the hotel where they were staying (something he said had never occurred before) that Sam had instructed him to do just that before he died. Ndodigha later said of his good friend: ”He wasn’t just a roommate or teammate but a true brother.”

According to his brother, Patrick, when Sam died, he had life insurance from a Belgian firm but ‘because of his love, he did what I will call a capital mistake, he had a clause in his insurance policy in which he stated that if he played outside Europe and America, that he would lose his insurance cover. And that is exactly what happened because he died here. There was an insurance package that was done by Guinness place for that particular match but it was just a cover for that match, not a life insurance. It was worth N10,000. That was what we got. And nothing else.‘

His mother says of that sad day:

I didn’t know that my son had died. It was a mystery to me. Because when we were watching the match, the screen suddenly went blank and I was even abusing NEPA or was it NTA for cutting short such an important match. I started to see people running around and I was wondering what was happening. It was dark, you know it was in the evening when they were playing. So I had to go in and sleep…I was even saying this Nigeria sef, this is a World Cup qualifier match and ….I slept. That night, by 7.30 pm, I woke up to see whether they had started the match again, what I heard was that (she pauses…) …….they are very sorry that……they announced his death….that he slumped and died….that was how I heard it…. It was so painful to me….he was a boy so close to my heart…he always knew what I wanted…he would come home and say Mummy, what do you want. He would ask me if I was well. He would take me to the hospital to the doctor that he just wanted the doctor to examine me, to do this and that. He did so many things to touch my heart. I lost him…and it was a terrible loss to me…because he loved me so much….and I so loved him.. The government indeed made promises to help me out with the care of my children when Sam died because he was the family’s provider but nothing was done. I was at home for a whole year and didn’t teach, receiving condolences from people all over Nigeria for the death of Sam who was multitalented, because I could remember he got a recommendation and congratulatory letter from the Korean government for one of his art works which was chosen as the best in a primary school art contest.” They brought him home to Enugu here where we lived from Lagos but before then they had told me to go to Umudioka and wait for them. My friends gathered here, markets closed, banks closed, offices closed, people lined up the streets in Enugu….he was given a lot of respect…and when they brought him, it was like a king, I had never seen such before.

Religion / God Will Kill Any Of My Pastors That Claims We Built Faith Tabernacle – Oyedepo by owukpa(m): 9:25am On Jul 11, 2021
The president of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, on Saturday, dedicated the Great Dome built by the Global Impact Church, Lagos.

Speaking at the dedication ceremony, which is part of this year’s recharge conference, with the theme, Multiply, Bishop Oyedepo warned that it is total wrong to ascribe God’s glory to oneself.

Bishop Oyedepo warned the lead pastors of the church, Yemi and Bimbo Davids and other ministers around to avoid swallowing every accolade being thrown at them.

Oyedepo recalled that after completing the Faith Tabernacle some years back, he strongly warned his pastors that anyone that goes about telling people we built it will be killed by God.

According to him, the church doesn’t have the capacity to build such edifice if God is not involved.

Also speaking speaking earlier, the founder of Eternity Network International, Pastor Joshua Selman, described the Great Dome building as a great marvellous work of God.

Religion / Re: How I Love The ‘evil’ Of Prophet T.B JOSHUA by owukpa(m): 3:35pm On Jul 10, 2021
The viral story making the rounds on social media with the headline, How I love the ‘evil’ of prophet T.B Joshua, credited to Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor, Dunamis International Gospel Centre was actually written by a totally different person.

The attribution of the story is misleading as the said statement did not emanate from the Senior Pastor.

The said story was authored by Enenche Obonyilo Peter, also known as Enenche Enenche, a comedian and it was first published on Daily Post online with his name boldly written below the article.

To set the record straight, Enenche Enenche is an entertainer while Dr. Paul Paul Enenche is a pastor and both are separate individuals.

Those sharing the story should be aware of who the real author is, as any attribution of the article to Dr Paul Enenche is false and misleading.

Religion / Pastor Enenche Commissions Road Project Constructed By Dunamis Church In Abuja by owukpa(m): 6:29am On Jul 10, 2021
The Senior Pastor of Dunamis Int’l Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche on Friday, commissioned a road project constructed by the church in Karu/Jikwoyi community, Abuja.

The road project which covers 550 meters and dilapidated over the years, was funded by Dunamis Church.

IDOMA VOICE reports that the Karu/Jikwoyi branch of the church under the leadership of Pastor Usman Yakubu, flagged off the project on March 31, 2021.

Commissioning the road project, Pastor Enenche, accompanied by his wife, Dr Becky Enenche, said the major assignment of leadership is to cater for the welfare of the people.

Some dignitaries, such as royal fathers, political and religious leaders, who graced the occasion, hailed the Dr. Paul Enenche-led Dunamis Church for always setting the pace and breaking new grounds.

In February and March 2020, Dr. Paul Enenche commissioned road projects financed by the church in Mararaba (Nasarawa) and Kubwa (Abuja).

Some residents of the area also expressed their gratitude to the Dunamis church for the road project.

Religion / Dunamis Statement On Arrest, Detention Of Buhari Must Go Protesters In Abuja by owukpa(m): 8:25am On Jul 07, 2021
Our attention has been drawn to a misleading caption in the media space about the arrest and detention of some youths in our church on Sunday, r July, 2021.

The narrative being peddled is that some youths wearing T-shirts branded with the inscription "BUHARI MUST' GO" merely came to church and walked up to the altar as first timers, and were arrested by the church and handed to the DSS.

Nothing can be further from the truth. The church holds three services every Sunday, and the Senior Pastor, Dr Paul Enenche preaches in all the services.

After the sermon in the first service that Sunday, an altar call was made, to which many people came out, including the said youths, and nothing happened to them. No one questioned the legality or otherwise of the inscription on their T-shirts. However, soon alter their departure from the altar, they swung into protest with blaring trumpets and saxophones right from the exit door of the church.

At the same time, the event was being covered anti live-streamed with the background shots of the church building anti those of the thronging crowd, both exiting and entering the sanctuary for the next service.

The live streaming had the caption: "BUHARI MUST GO Campaign Hits Dunamis Church in Abuja."
This appears intriguing for many reasons:

1. No one knew who they were or where they came from.

2. No one knew the organization they represented as well as their ultimate agenda until the DSS apprehended them.

3. No standard rule of engagement was followed as they merely sneaked into the church and swung into protest on a holy clay of service.

4. Moreover, the church is not an activism ground, but a centre for tile projection of truth against all forms of evil.
The church is non-political and non-partisan and thus, not an appropriate ground for political protests. It is not the seat of government where those being protested against reside.
As intriguing as it was to a common onlooker, so was it to members of undercover security forces on the premises for routine duties.

Acting in their line of duty, the DSS officials arrested the protesters. For the records, the Senior Pastor, Dr Paul Enenche who was engaged in preaching the sermon in the second service was not privy to the unfolding development, let alone giving the order for their arrest.

We wish to state categorically that Dunamis Intl Gospel Centre has no hands in the arrest and detention of the said youths as they were arrested outside the premises of the church.

The church has no right to arrest and detain people, and has no detention custody. The right of arrest and detention resides with government security agencies.

The church of Christ, over the course of human history, has remained resolute in her advocacy for human right, justice and freedom. The Senior Pastor, Dr Paul Enenche is known for his relentless voice against oppression, injustice and evil in the country at all levels.

The church is also actively engaged in praying and fasting for good governance as well as an end to all forms of evil in the country.

The church that is praying and advocating for a free, just, orderly and peaceful society cannot but help to further the cause of justice, order and peace in the land.

Religion / Muslim Group Invites Buharimustgo To National Mosque by owukpa(m): 5:21pm On Jul 05, 2021
The United Muslims for Peace and Good Governance has described as total madness and joke taken too far by some persons who staged a protest at the Glory Dome, headquarters of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre on Sunday.

IDOMA VOICE recalls that a rebel group, Revolution Now, led by Omoyele Sowore’s had sneaked into Dunamis Church and staged #Buharimustgo protest on Sunday.

However, the protesters got more than the bargained for as officials of the Department of State Service, DSS, who were on routine duties arrested the protesters in order to maintain peace.

Reacting to the development, the Muslim group described Sowore and his followers as ‘confused in-house penguins’ who are hell bent of creating anarchy in the country.

The group in a statement by its National President, Ibn Mohammed, hailed Dr. Paul Enenche and leadership of the Church for the mature way they handled the development.

The group urged Sowore and his team to visit the National Mosque on Friday in continuation of their campaign.

“The ongoing madness being displayed by some confused in-house penguins led by a certain Omoyele Sowore to cause anarchy and chaos in the country took another dimension on Sunday as some of them stormed Dunamis church to display their madness.

“This is madness and joke taken too far and must be dealt with immediately.

“It is absolute madness and show of shame for them to take their campaign to Church.

“How can a few individuals ask a democratically elected president to go for no reason?

“Since Sowore and and his group have chosen religious centres as the best place to stage his protest, we are inviting them to come to the National Mosque on Friday.

“We want to make it empathetically clear to him that no one has monopoly of madness,” part of the statement read.

No fewer than 30 persons in various Igbo speaking communities of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State have been killed by suspected herdsmen.

The attacked occurred in the early hours of Sunday May 30th, 2021.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that the villages attacked were Ndigwe village, Ataloga village, Odokem, Ekile village, Nduobasi village, Ekpufu and Obakota villages.

It took the timely intervention of the Operation Whirlstroke Military Outfit, having been called by the Chairman to repel further attacks.

Confirming the development, James Oche, the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government of Benue State charged the people of the local government to rise up in self defense of their lives. He has said, the era of remaining arms-folded in the face of annihilation was over.

Mr. Oche stated this in a media chat with journalists yesterday in Igumale while reacting to the killing of over 30 persons in various Igbo speaking communities of Ado Local Government.

Similarly, the chairman has expressed concern over the growing number of internally displaced persons (IDPS) under his domain and has said the figure has risen from 2000 to nearly 5000 yesterday.

Meanwhile our source gathered that, this morning the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom directed the Whirlstroke team to comb the nearby forests in order to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book.
