Bishop Thomas Aremu has stated that he has no plan to open his own church following his retirement from the Living Faith Church.

IDOMA TELEVISION recalls that Bishop Aremu and David Abioye recently bowed out of office in line with the guidelines of the Mandate, the operational manual of the Living Faith Church, globally known as Winners Chapel.

Speaking during his valedictory service in Bashorun, Ibadan, on Monday, the cleric insisted that despite his retirement, he will not open his own church.

Earlier, the President and founder of the church, Bishop David Oyedepo, commended Bishop Aremu for his steadfastness and service in God’s vineyard.

A young woman identified as Blessing has gone viral in Benue State after seizing a man's mattress when he refused to pay for an all-night service.

The incident, which was captured and shared widely on social media, sparked both criticism and sympathy from the public.

IDOMA VOICE reports that Blessing, a mother of two, explained that after spending the night with the man, he claimed he couldn’t afford to pay her.

Instead, he offered her the choice of either his home theater system or his mattress as compensation.

The man, however, left with the home theater system the next morning, leaving only the mattress behind.

In an interview with activist and humanitarian worker, Ukan P Kurugh, Blessing said: “When the man took me home, after the all-night fun, he said in the morning that he couldn’t pay.

“He told me to either take his home theater or his mattress. By morning, he left with the home theater and asked me to take the mattress and sell it if I wanted. So, I picked the mattress and went outside.”

Blessing further explained that a neighbour saw her and asked what had happened. It was during that conversation that someone captured the scene and posted it online. 

When asked how she ended up in the s3x trade, Blessing revealed a heartbreaking story: “I got into the business after my mum died. She passed away while nine months pregnant. When I was growing up, my father tried to marry me off early, but I refused. After my mum died, my father remarried, and the pressure on me increased. I had to run away.”

Blessing eventually got married, but her marriage did not last.
“I had two kids, but my husband abandoned us. With no other means to support my children, I had no choice but to start this business to feed them and pay their school fees.”

The story took a positive turn when a philanthropist, Adoo Eugenia Ter, brought attention to Blessing’s situation, leading to donations of N500,000 from concerned Nigerians.

This support is intended to help Blessing start a new business and leave the streets behind, IDOMA VOICE reports.

The Oloja-Elect of Lagos, Prince Abiola Kosoko, has criticised the controversial assertion that Lagos is a “no man’s land.”

Speaking at the recently concluded King Kosoko Memorial Lecture in Lagos, Kosoko stated that the claim, often made by residents who are not originally from Lagos, is a misguided attempt to rewrite history.

“Lagos can never be a no man’s land,” Kosoko stated.

He clarified that while many individuals may reside and pay taxes in the city, true indigenes have a deeper ancestral connection to the land.

“I am an indigene of Lagos, not just a citizen. Those who claim Lagos is no man’s land are citizens or residents who can leave at any time. But for me, Lagos is my home—my ancestral home—and I will always hold onto it,” he said.

Kosoko also highlighted Lagos’s transformation into a bustling commercial hub, noting its role as a centre of business and trade.

He described Lagos as a “commodity centre” that has evolved into a “profitable hub for commercial and trade activities.”

Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, along with his wife, Dr. Becky Enenche, visited Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, on Monday to offer support to victims of the recent flood disaster.

IDOMA VOICE reports that the couple was welcomed by Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, who commended their ongoing humanitarian efforts in the region.

The visit was highlighted in a statement shared on Dr. Enenche’s social media accounts, where he expressed his solidarity with the people of Borno.

“We are here on a goodwill and solidarity visit to the good people of the land following the flood incident of the last six days,” he wrote.

During the visit, Dr. Enenche and his wife toured an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, providing relief materials and medical services to flood victims, drawing from their experience as medical doctors.

They aimed to offer not only physical support but also words of encouragement and hope to those displaced by the disaster.

Their itinerary included stops at the Borno State Government House, where they met with Governor Zulum and Deputy Governor Umar Usman Kadafur, as well as a visit to Dunamis Church in Maiduguri before heading to the IDP camp.

Governor Zulum praised their efforts and thanked them for standing by the people of Borno during this difficult time.

Their visit comes amidst ongoing relief efforts in the state, with local authorities and organizations working together to provide much-needed assistance to flood victims.

Apostle Paul Odola, the General Overseer of Dominion Power Assembly International, has countered the recent claim by Pastor Abel Damina of Power City International that he (Damina) ordained the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche and gave him direction into ministry.

Recall that Damina had always claimed that he was the one who ordained Dr Enenche into ministry and gave him direction on how to start his now global ministry, a claim many people have faulted.

Damina had also claimed that he ordained both Dr Enenche and Apostle Odola same day into ministries.

Speaking for the first time on the controversy in an interview with newsmen, Apostle Odola faulted Damina’s claim, stressing that Pastor Enenche was already an established minister before his path crossed that of Damina very briefly in 1995.

He said, “I’ve been privileged to know Dr. Abel Damina in 1988 and Dr. Paul Enenche since 1994, and that was the first time Dr. Paul Enenche came into the picture.

“At the time Dr. Paul came into the picture, he was already a man of God in his own right. I have a particular handbill where Dr Paul featured as a guest speaker in 1995.

“In that handbill, there was one pastor called Dr Friday Yanga. Dr Paul came into the picture already as a minister of the gospel, fireful and vibrant. He often attended conferences that Damina organized then.

“There was this Jos Prayer Conference that was going on then that Dr. Paul attended. When the ICMA movement became a church, Dr. Paul came in as an associate minister. Sometimes he went around preaching, so we didn’t get to see him on Sundays. If he was around, he just came in for the service.

“I had the opportunity to invite Dr Paul to minister for us in Bauchi State in 1995. He was then a man of God in his own right. He came to that meeting with Dr Becky, his wife, and their daughter, Deborah, his mother in-law. He was anointed, fireful, a man of God in his own right by all standards.

“We had the opportunity of coming around Dr. Joshua Talena and Dr. Damina, and it was very clear that Dr. Paul was different. He was different from us in so many ways. He was different in his lifestyle, his approach to ministry, and his morality. At one of the conferences we had in Uyo in 1996, Dr Paul also attended. It was obvious that Dr Paul had his own approach, his own lifestyle, and ministry. He only came around as an associate.

“We always knew he had a ministry that was going to be global because of his approach to life and ministry, which was quite different from ours.

“His very strict and high standard of living was different from ours because we were all young men then. The way he is today, I am not surprised.

“If Dr Abel Damina claims to have trained or ordained Dr Paul Enenche into ministry, it is false.

“When a man who had his own ministry and was already in ministry associates with you at one point in time, it does not mean you ordained him into ministry. It is just like saying John the Baptist ordained Jesus into ministry. Today, we can see that Dr Paul Enenche had it and was intentional about it while he was with us.

Asked how long Dr Paul’s association with Damina lasted before he founded his church, Odola said, “The interaction was quite brief because Dr Paul was already in ministry and only associated with us. He realized that the company was not befitting for him and he left.

“On our part, our youthful exuberance was very obvious, so Dr Paul, sensing and understanding that, had to completely dissociate himself from us. That interaction and association were brief. I think it was that lack of principle and youthful exuberance that he observed. When he came around, he didn’t stay too long and today, the difference is clear.”

Speaking on the claim that Damina was part of the inaugural service of Dunamis Church in Abuja, Odola said, “To the best of my memory, Dr Paul had already started the church in Abuja when Dr Damina and I came for one of his conferences. I was part of that conference. The church had already started before Dr Abel Damina was invited to come as a guest minister.

“As a matter of fact, we were all surprised at what the church had grown to be within a short period. Obviously, I don't think it was the inaugural meeting that we came for because the church had already started and Dr Abel was invited as a guest speaker and we all came together.

“Anyone with us then would know that Dr Paul Enenche knew where he was headed and what he wanted to do. People like Rev Talena could tell that Dr Paul came in with the understanding of ministry and where he was headed.

“When it was time to start his own ministry, we all knew he was going to leave.

“Dr Paul had always shown clearly that he knew where he was going and what he wanted to do in ministry.


“I want to say this with all sincerity. I invited him (Dr Paul) to preach in our church in Bauchi in 1995 because I saw that he was quite different among us. He was the first person that ever came to preach when I answered the call.

“I did it because I saw what he had and who he was. Today, I am not surprised at what the Lord has used him to do. I had the privilege of taking a tour of the Glory Dome recently, and I want to say that people only see the Dome from the outside. They have no idea of the Glory Dome except if they go and visit and experience it like I did. Dr Paul is not just a gift to our nation; he's a gift to our generation.

“What he has been able to do by the hand of God, no man can claim. No man can claim that he has inspired it. He is a generational gift and consistently remains an inspiration to our generation. I think everyone in their right senses should give this man the honor he deserves and learn from what God is using him to do.

"Dr Paul Enenche, I must say this with all sincerity is one of the greatest voices we have in the body of Christ. He is more or less like the current father of our faith because, whether we like it or not, the older generations are phasing out.

"He is one of the current fathers of faith that my generation of ministers is looking up to. Let’s talk about the lives that he has touched. In every country he has gone to, presidents and leaders of that nation attend his crusades. Such a man should be given the honor he deserves.

"So, Dr Damina’s comments regarding Dr. Paul Enenche are completely unfounded."

The Tortoise cleverly lied, saying that the king had chosen the Elephant to be the chairman of the occasion. Flattered and excited, the Elephant agreed to attend, and the Tortoise offered to accompany him.

Meanwhile, the Tortoise returned to the king and confidently declared that he would soon bring the elephant required to marry the princess.

On the day of the festival, the Tortoise intentionally delayed their departure until noon, causing the Elephant to grow impatient.

When the Tortoise finally appeared, the Elephant, now angry, demanded to know why he had been kept waiting.

The Tortoise, ever so sly, blamed his short legs for the delay and pleaded with the Elephant to allow him to ride on his back to make the journey faster.

The Elephant agreed, but when the Tortoise struggled to climb up, he asked to use a rope to help him ascend.

The Elephant consented, and soon the Tortoise was perched atop his friend’s back, holding the rope like reins.

As they approached the palace, the Tortoise began to sing triumphantly, proclaiming to the king that he had brought the elephant for the princess.

The Elephant, hearing this, asked what the Tortoise had said. The Tortoise lied again, insisting that the Elephant had misheard and urged him to keep moving.

When they finally reached the palace, the Tortoise handed the rope to the king, declaring that he had fulfilled the princess’s request.

It was then that the Elephant realized he had been deceived by his friend, who had used him to win the princess’s hand in marriage.

The moral of the story is that one should be cautious of friends who ask for favours without revealing their true intentions, as their motives may be deceitful.

Protesters on Tuesday stormed the Republic of Benin Embassy in Abuja, challenging the continued detention of Nigerian pastor Benjamin Egbaji in Benin.

Egbaji, a native of Cross River State, who oversees a church, Église De Miracle Et Action Du Saint Esprit, in Benin, has been in detention for over a year after he was accused of rape by Pede Victoire, a citizen of the Republic of Benin.

The protesters, brandishing various placards, decried the mistreatment of Nigerians in Benin with growing frustration.

Addressing journalists at the Embassy, Ayobamidele Kehinde, International Director of Dynamic Ambassadors for Social Transformation and Orientation Initiatives, stated that Pastor Egbaji has been languishing in Benin's detention for over a year without trial, even while in chains in the hospital.

Kehinde condemned the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in Benin, particularly against the Igbo community.

He explained, “The accusations against Pastor Benjamin were made by Pede Victoire, who claimed that he raped her daughter, Ahouandjinou Dona Sarah, when she was just 13 years old.

“However, this claim was never formally reported, and no evidence has been presented to substantiate these allegations.”

“Attempts to secure bail for Pastor Benjamin Egbaji have been unsuccessful due to the lack of action from the Nigerian Government.

Kehinde highlighted Egbaji’s contributions to the economy of Benin Republic over the past 30 years, noting the personal tragedies he has endured, including the deaths of his wife and adopted daughter.

He expressed frustration over the lack of support from the Nigerian government, stating, “We cannot claim to be members of ECOWAS and suffer like this. We have intel that the judge is under pressure to sentence Benjamin to ten years imprisonment. Visit their prisons and see how Nigerians are languishing there.”

Speaking with journalists after submitting a petition to the embassy, Barrister Joseph B. Ayi, lamented that a medical report indicated Egbaji, who is hypertensive, has blood pressure levels of 254/136, putting him at risk of a stroke or cardiac arrest.

“We have submitted our petition to the embassy, and they have promised to take action on the matter before the end of the day,” Ayi concluded.

A yet-to-be identified man has met his waterloo in Otukpo Benue State while trying to vandalize a transformer.

The vandal, IDOMA VOICE gathered, is said to be a resident of Otukpo-Icho.

Residents of the area woke up in the morning to see his lifeless body dangling on the pole.

It was gathered that the deceased had succeeded in cutting some wires before he met his waterloo.
They found on him a screewdriver and plyer.

It would be recalled that same transformer was vandalized last year.
