BusinessI Plan To Start A Match-making Website. What's Your Take Please. by oxax99(op): 11:35am On Mar 06, 2012
Dear N'Landers,

I am hoping to get input and most probably direction as to how best to go about this idea that I have.

I have an educational consultancy business, and over the years have assisted several students (undergraduate and post-graduates) secure admissions into schools in the UK. Over the years, I have noticed the growing rate of single men and ladies, who for one reason or the other, have some difficulty attracting or meeting people for the sake of creating a relations.

I hope to be able to cover this gap, and maybe put smiles on one, two or may hearts. Please what do you think is the success rate of such a venture in Nigeria?

Please note that this is a professional business service/venture and your input in the areas of:

*. Website design/format
*. Fee/subscription structure
*. Clients filter methods
*. ETC

Will be greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks.

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

BusinessRe: How Much Capital Will Be Needed To Start A Mini Supermarket? by oxax99(m): 11:29am On Oct 19, 2011
Well, it all depends on your location and how you plan to operate. From my understanding, a "Mini Mart" is bigger than a "Neighbourhood" shop. Rent, Furnitures, Set ups and other decors may be your highest capital expenditures. You could also start with stock of between N500k to N1million and you're ready to go.

As for the Margin, your everyday consumables attract little margins but give you turnover. However stocking up on other stuffs (cosmetics & the likes) should cover for that.

I have just set up one myself.

Good luck.

BusinessBusiness Plan For A Supermarket by oxax99(op): 1:56pm On Aug 07, 2010
Good morning all,

I will sincerely appreciate if anyone would make available to me a viable business plan for a supermarket. I am based in Lagos, somewhere around Akoka, Yaba and would like the supermarket situated around there.

Also, what would be your take on supplies: go to the market directly or get suppliers, which do you think is cheaper?

Do you have ideas of suppliers and how they operate?

Thanks. cry

Hello Owo2000%, this is a nice venture and would definitely make a kill considering the mess that we have for power generation and the expenses incurred in gas purchases. How do we meet to discuss. In this case am looking for business opportunities and wealth generation. I'll forward my email address to you and we can discuss more.

Are you based in Nigeria? I see a Chicago phone number.

TV/MoviesRe: Nigerian's Own Cartoon Network by oxax99(m):
I'm sure someone here will agree with me that there are differences between animated movies and cartoons. Whichever side of the divide you belong to, I'd definitely say that we do have materials to produce cartoons and animated movies. To the last question posted "Do we have cartoons?" I want to believe that your question should be Do we have materials for cartoons? To that I say a big YES. Several folk tales could be made to cartoons and movies. America no get plenty story, but their cartoon dey make people kolo. na story wen dem borrow, Pocahontas and the like. See what the Chinese people are doing with their own folk tales.

My brother, keep your idea alive, the only part I see a contraint is in finance. Good luck and all the best.

FamilyRe: Every Orphan Deserves Joy; Please Read The Story And Give Your Honest Replies by oxax99(m): 4:49pm On Aug 24, 2007
Phew!!!, This is a very dicey situation as one needs to tread carefully. As we are all aware, this culture thing gets a lot of hands tied. If your friend goes to the Police, I can guarantee you that nothing can be done from the perspective of the law huh(I am subject to a legal personnel's verification).

However, she could get the guy arrested for battery or something, but then afterwards, what happens, the grounds would only get hotter.

My own candid view, if your friend can get a place to stay, at least until she gets a job to support herself, let her just stay away. Some of these shameless guys can do anything to lay their hands on any form of free cash, trust me, I know what am talking about.

From this point, and the guys behaviour, you can see that he is destined to be a failure. Advice your friend to stay away, get a caring friend or other family members to stay with and plan her life from there. Is she educated? That may be another factor.

All the best, and pray.

FamilyRe: Your Husband in The Labor Room During Childbirth? by oxax99(m): 2:11pm On Aug 09, 2007
Hi all,

Indeed I must say that the experience is one that you'd hate during the period, and you'd appreciate afterwards. I was there in the labor room where it all happened and must confess that after the experience, I have a load of respect for the women folks. I have always respected pregnant women, then after my own experience the respect doubled. Let this be like a SIWES for men, and a certificate awarded.

Pardon my saying this, but you're not just a man by the dangling jonnie, experience this and reappraise yourself man. cool
BusinessRe: Help Needed On Car Wash Business by oxax99(m): 12:52pm On Jul 01, 2007
To be sincere, car wash business as it were is a very good and productive one, considering how you want to play in it. However, there are some factors that you need to put right before you can really say "I am doing well". Location, machinery (full auto or manual wash) and staff are key success factors that would make you climb or plung. For a place like Ikorodu, I would say you have population on your side, that is if a lot of people work in Ikorodu and care for their cars. However, put these in mind as a need:

1. A piece of land with good slope gradient towards a major ar very good drainage (you won't want to be an
enviroment detroyer.
2. Machinery/supplies - You'd need a pumping machine, water outlet connection. (this varies depending on the number
of wash ports you want. Supplies are the detergent, cleaning agents, stain removers, rust treatment, dryers etc.
3. Staffing - at least 2 persons to man a port. One washing, one rinsing then both to dry and do interiors.
4. A manager. This person needs to be either You, You, or someone you trust to make good returns.

I have done a business plan on this business, just giving this information freely as the market is very wide.
CareerRe: Help! Oceanic Bank Interview by oxax99(m): 12:26pm On Jul 01, 2007
Hi, sorry this may be coming in a bit late, however, incase it is not hope it helps. When you go in for the interview, the main focus should be your peronl drive and aspiration. All about the qualities that can make you achieve. Am dwelling on the assumption that you are a fresh hire. You are not expected to know everything about the bank but should know something about the industry. Do not get intimidated by all the questions you may be asked, take permission and answer them one after the other. If you do not understand a question, politely tell the interviewer to repeat it. If you do not have an answer to a question, be sincere about it and say so.

These point are just a guide, I hope they help you out. All the best.
