Unblockable:Wow, i like your honest reply. You were berating the French but calling their win against Argentina struggle, that's when i knew you didn't watch the match or you were just making jest of France and i had to call you out. I know what it feels when you know the team you know very well have what it takes to win their favorite opponent. But Belgium have to prove themselves too, they failed when many believed in them in 2014, and again at Euro 16, that's why everybody had to step back from them, and you can feel the joy in the air too as the players celebrated when they won Brazil, when they France and get to the final, everybody will start taking them seriously again. Do you know how i feel when people lambastes the English team. Some of the English players didn't participate in the qualifying games for the world cup, they were selected because of their form in their respective clubs this season. And Southgate took some young England players to a Toulon tournament, right there he knew what it means to win a tournament. You don't have to play beautifully, you need to be smart. Henry was one of the best strikers in the world, go and check all his meagre world cup goals and his highlights and see if that's how he use to play for Arsenal. Most Miroslav Klose goals in the world cup were scraps. World cup is about do all you can to win, it's a tournament and you don't get to redeem yourself in subsequent matches unlike league games. England built their strength with 3 ball playing defenders, great at set pieces and fast attackers. They deliberately became 2nd in the group, and who doesn't do that? Even Platini confessed recently they made! 1998 world cup draw in such a way that France won't meet Brazil until if both teams get to the Final. People can say what they want about England playing boring and unattractive football but they are being smart. Heck their golden generation of Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Ferdinand, Joe Cole, John Terry and co couldn't get to this stage. And people should leave their press alone, they know how to hype their players and league, why not hype your country men too? |
Unblockable:I wonder how you people make your analysis. You like a team doesn't mean you should diminish the opponent. You call France's win against Argentina 'struggling to win'? Well if you watch the match, you will know France won that game without breaking a sweat, they went 2-1 behind after scoring first, then 4-2 before Aguero scored what is called a Consolation goal to make it 4-3, maybe you saw the scores later and thought the game was tight France was lucky to win. Even when Aguero scored Dominique noted that 'that's why it's good to have a high margin when winning'. I like both teams and any of them that qualified is okay. |

Dear Hardlife, this thread have gotten to page 15 and i know you must have gotten a lot of advises, i just want to chip in because of my own life experience too. I graduated from public Sec school in '09 with a very good Waec result, passed jamb the following year and gained admission into UI. I think my problem started when i questioned many things wrong with Nigeria and being that i was a science student i thought studying abroad will improve me. So i was obsessed about going abroad after my sec school, but couldn't find a way. 1st year in school i had 2.2/7.0 gpa, despite being a brilliant student in sec school and i lost because i don't think i will ever make first class. 2nd year in school, my older cousins started talking about how easy it is going abroad, so luckily i found US thread on nairaland, where i got a list of things i needed. Despite my cousins warning me that even though i am processing traveling i shouldn't neglect my school here for now. They didn't know my gpa, they thought my cgpa is very good because i didn't tell them. In my mind i have zeroed UI, the US rejected me twice, and i had to remain in UI with a very low cgpa. I pushed it till 500L till i gave up. Mom taught i will be serving that year 2015. When i told her about extra year and so many carry overs i had, she burst into tears. My father had died earlier that year. When it was time to go for extra year, i told her i couldn't do it. But she was adamant that i get a degree, so i took jamb last year after wasting 8 YEARS. Now i am in another federal university in southwest, and i am trying my best to do well this time around. A female classmate of mine in sec school saw me in school the other day and ask what i am doing in her school, that am i here for my Masters or Ph.D? When i got home i couldn't cry, see the level this girl rated me not knowing i just started 100 level. Sometimes i feel depressed and have suicide thoughts but the pains i will cause my mom after loosing a first son and husband keeps me in check, and also hope that i would one day have children that i will train and achieve what i couldn't (because i know i can't really make a difference in life again). Also my dad founded a church before he died, and along the line i started teaching these kids in children class, and they love my teachings and look up to me. I love these kids and they are also part of what keeps me going in this life. Growing up i never thought i could find myself in this mess, seems like a dream but it's real and torturing. I sometimes do the betting too, because i was a football addict. But i didn't get addicted. Why i wrote this summary about my life is that hardlife, you can still start your life again, yours is 5, me i am starting again after 8 years. Peace |
Cloneberg:Of course you will need fertilizer if you want to become a successful farmer, the whites that invented it are not inconsiderate people, with all there money why didn't they go for organic?? Infact fertilizer can be said to be organic, because it's gotten from hydrocarbons. |
Viking007:There was pressure on her from her sisters, they think the guy has defrauded her, and because they were ladies, insecurities followed. The lady's narrative seems over the top. But the guy is to be blamed too for not trying to get a good job. I keep saying it, if Tyler Perry didn't give the movie a happy ending for the guy, the divorce would have paid off for the lady. And if not that there were because of family interference, she would have stick with the guy. |
Viking007:Imagine if the toy didn't become a goldmine? Who will be at fault, cos the lady spent her fortune on it. |
Explorers:It's the journalists/wrier on ground that will do that, pile it up in a book and producers pays for rights to the book. Just the movies, Everest, The 33 e.t.c |
KoiceReloaded:I haven't finished watching, but the training aspects got me intrigued and i think Annihilation should have inculcated that in training the ladies. All 5 ladies going into that shimmer was ludicrous, i don't think a big big country like the US would have allowed that. Women who don't know how to shoot a gun, were given a gun, laughable. |
A Hollywood movie is loading, be aware that this story and rescue operation will grace the theater one day. A writer is already documenting. |
iLegendd:Tiwa was the one feeding Tbliz but 2Face was the one feeding Annie, it's the other way round. Rich girls can throw you out any time, if she didn't her family will do it for her. |
Still watching The Titan. And it's far far better than Annihilation, it is everything Annihilation wanted to be. Annihilated tried to be seem intelligent but threw out logic and basics. Will rate it when i finish. |
KoiceReloaded:I thought you know your way around it. The way you use to drop series links. |
Viking007:lol |
KoiceReloaded:I still haven't seen Inglorious Basterds, got any link?? |
iLegendd, i thought Tbliz is a bad guy, f**king different kinds of women despite being married to Tiwa. And that's why Tiwa dumped him because not only was he f**king around, she was the one feeding him. |
tiredoflife:Maybe if you move to your village you will see more of it, leave south west and go to your village. |
tiredoflife:You people are stupid with statistics and stereotyping. This kind of scenario also happen in the ibo villages, in fact all over the world. Go figure. |
Global influence is often measured by military, political or economic might, but for some countries, it’s the strength of the culture – its food, fashion or entertainment – that most strongly impacts the wider world. ITALY Famous for designer brands like Valentino, Armani, Versace and Gucci, Italy scored a perfect 10 in being both ‘fashionable’ and ‘trendy’, which hardly surprises residents like Lucio Buffalmano, founder of the ThePowerMoves blog, who comes from Abruzzo, east of Rome. “It's a cliché, but Italians do care about what looks nice, and Italians do take more care than most in looking fashionable,” he said. FRANCE ‘Modern’, ‘prestigious’ and ‘fashionable’ were all areas where France scored high, and the French ‘ je ne sais quoi’ is something that people across the world try to imitate. Lifelong Paris resident Roobens Fils didn’t even realise how influential his culture was until he travelled throughout the Middle East and Asia. The United States Scoring highly for being ‘modern’ and ‘influential in entertainment’, the US’ films, music and TV programmes are enjoyed globally. Even when another country does something first, like the reality TV genre that started in the UK, the US is known for making it bigger and more popular worldwide. The country’s tech industry, home to Facebook, Twitter, Google and Amazon, has also left its mark, with billions of people interacting daily with these popular services and social networks. SPAIN Once one of the world’s largest conquerors and empires, Spain has left a lasting mark across geographies from South America to the East Indies. After Chinese, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the world when measured by native speakers, and the strength of its Spanish-speaking movies, TV and music helped push the country to the top. The United Kingdom Ranking high for the ‘prestigious’ label, UK residents take pride in their ability to combine a strong work ethic, creativity and an openness to change to produce new innovation. “We have some of the finest universities in the world, and an entrepreneurial flair,” said London resident and author Ian Hawkins. “Don’t forget, machine code, the computer and www were all invented by Brits.” www.bbc.com/travel/story/20180701-the-five-countries-that-set-world-culture |
Amy Schumer is a f**king clown, lol. What a talkative. I think she totally killed this com-rom. The title is I Feel Pretty. 7/10. |
thegentleman:When you see people rating a movie highly on the thread, and you decided to go watch it. You won't watch it with a clear mind, but you will be viewing with an extra critical mind to fish out mistakes from the movie, though there are exceptional movies that everybody unanimously agrees that they are great. The beauty of The Death of Stalin lies in the conversions of the casts but viking007 says the talk were boring, so how do you want to understand what is going on in the movie ![]() Well, as for Stalin and the little i have read about him and how he was portrayed in this movie, he is a tyrant, ruthless and killer. But hey enemy of my enemy is my friend. The British and Americans united with him to defeat Hitler, which makes Stalin a Hero. tueh. |
Viking007:I agree with this |
Beorn:What brought up this discussion was red sparrow. An American girl portraying a Russian girl, by speaking Russian language and you are telling me you will know if she's speaking it right? No matter how a linguist learn an accent say, Scouse. You can never speak the English like a scouse never. |
Beorn:Nobody is saying you won't know the language but i am talking about specific accents and dialect. Like Koice said If one doesn't know Rooney or Gerrard, you will know they are speaking English, but would you know the accent is scouse? |
Swagahyk:How much is the mifi ![]() |
TechCapon:Imagine your own comment self. |
Goal line technology is accurate, VAR is not good. |
H2Ossss:This is what i am trying to pinpoint. Why are you humble and nice towards your main chick?? This is what nice guys try to do, to love only a lady wholeheartedly, but these girls aren't loyal. Though it also depends on kind of ladies nice guys throw their love to, so nice guys should be watchful and not be mumu like paying school fees of their lady e.t.c. |
Ishilove:So talking about lesbians and vagina means i am obsessed with it? You don't know me and you are already stereotyping me through my comments which were written in the ruckus of discussion. i smh 4 u. |
joshmee4real:Thank you jare, actually it's even the referee that will decide if it's a penalty or not, not even the VAR referee. Though we like excuses, the Rojo handball was a penalty but was not given, but that is not why we lost. |
Ishilove:You can deny it all of like, but i see you other threads. And recently i saw your comment about a fake picture of Falcao and the Guy's bulge. Should i fish it out for you?? |
