SupremeCourt: NAF has settled for 2019 budget procurement of new advanced trainer jet l-39 ng next generation. The new jet has guiding laser bomb and air to air missiles unlike old l-39 ordinary non-guiding weapons. NAF will mix total conversions and fully brand new, the body will be new mixed with old engine for conversion, while new ones will be fully new to be delivered 2020-2022. Senegal saw NAF alpha jet actions in Gambia and decided to compete, Senegal is building new powerful air force with same l-39 ng and will join NAF in West Africa flying this new jet. For NAF this may kill yak-130 trainer option, since l-39 ng next generation is very advanced for lead in 4th gen and 5th gen trainer/light attack jet. As soon as 2019 budget NAF allocation is paid out, NAF is paying for this jet confirmed.
http://www.l-39ng.cz/ - - https://archivengr.com/czech-republic-seeks-partnership-with-naf-on-aircraft-acquisition/ been waiting for this for a long time, the L-39ZA we fly is a very tough machine. Getting the next gen only makes it better

jakeporeshenko: This is a very sad way to start the year, i seriously hope the pilots are rescued if they survived the crash.
The role of the Nigerian Air Force In this war cannot be overlooked! these angels in the sky providing CAS for troops on the ground are the only element of this war Boko boys fear, I have resisted temptation in the past but I have to admit it, NAF is the only reason Boko boys no longer contest territory with NA, Boko boys even time response from NAF, that is why all their attack look like hit and run! What do you think they are running from ? It’s the overwhelming fire power from above! Even when they capture a town they don’t stay for more than 12hrs because of heavy casualties inflicted by NAF and eventually NA sends reinforcements.
What happens if these terrorist eventually get their hands on MANPADS ? From Libya, chad, Sudan or Yemen ? What then ?!
Anyways I’m just ranting what do I know. they didn't make it bro i know one of the pilots personally, it's heart breaking |

Odunayaw: If this close air support is tied down to "helping them win in their own base!", how many aircrafts will be left for other duties like supply, recon and for those that should actually be fighting forward I just tire for Nigeria finally |

Odunayaw: While ON THE OFFENSIVE!
Or don't you know, BH probe, flee when the Air calvary arrives and returns to fight as soon as they are gone? that's why the army needs an air arm that is dedicated to providing close air support. |

Imagine the cost in fuel and spares "Supporting" everyone everywhere.

Henry240: There's a fundamental problem with always asking for air support during every BHT attack. It gives an impression that we have a very capable Air Force.
Let us look at why constantly looking out for Air Support in a Nigerian context is not the right route to take.
Although the Nigerian Air Force has been supplemented with nearly 70 aircrafts in the last 6 years, we have to realise that this number is still very small and relative.
We cannot fight like the Americans who always have air support, in fact the doctrine of air superiority is primarily the method with which American ground troops conduct operations. They can do this because the US Army is built from the ground up that way, if troops can't get air support they do not advance to any objective.
In Nigeria's case, it's not the same, we are limited by resources. Even those resources are stretched to the limit. The Air Force is in the Northeast, Zamfara, Kaduna state, Jos and the Niger-Delta.
These aircrafts have down time and cannot be available all year round.
That's why strategy, planning, leadership and discipline for ground troops have to be top notch. what ever happened to Nigerian army aviation? Its high time the army stopped depending solely on the air force for pits sack!! I thought they training about ten pilots..any idea about nigerian army aviation?? |

daveP: Oga what is your point now? There was safe ejection and the chute worked. We both know that these f7s looks good to the eyes but are a big reflection of our aerial weakness in any kind of aerial threat to this country. There is no plane or craft that isn't vulnerable to crashing. o so you know, are you aware that some time early this year an f-16 flow by the U.S thunderbirds "display" team crashed killing the pilot who didn't eject,so what do you have to say about that. |
Politics › Re: Photos From The Burial Of Bello Baba-ari, NAF Pilot Who Died In Jet Crash by oyinpr(m): 12:16pm On Sep 29, 2018 |
daveP: You might be his friend but F7 is now child play craft. something that should be used to train newbies is what you're hyping. so. much for our military prowess. Trump. was all smiles and sarcastic when bubu said he needs crafts. Old craft looking like better thing only to naija.
F16 is the deal and even during war, F35 is used instead. see the distance of versions.
Why didn't the trackroom give the report?
The ejection happened but I'm very sure the chute didn't come out. so.... I hope you're aware an F-35 crashed yesterday too? |
