Senate President, Bukola Saraki, today Wednesday March 20th, signed the Senate’s version of the National Minimum Wage Bill, 2019 (SB 722).

The singer, 25, and model, 22, who legally married in a New York courthouse in September, are said to have put their plans on 'indefinite hold to focus on Justin'.

A new study found that marijuana use prior to sex improves the overall experience and women who smoked reported increased sex drive and more orgasm satisfaction.

The new study analyzed reports from hundreds of women, both pot smokers and non-smokers and found that marijuana use prior to sex doubles the chances of having a more satisfying orgasm.

‘It has been postulated that it leads to improvement in sexual function simply by lowering stress and anxiety,’ researchers explain in the new paper, published to the journal Sexual Medicine.

‘It may slow the temporal perception of time and prolong the feelings of pleasurable sensations. It may lower sexual inhibitions and increase confidence and a willingness to experiment. Marijuana is also known to heighten sensations such as touch, smell, sight, taste, and hearing.’

The study led by a team at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine reviewed self-reported survey responses from 373 women. About 47 percent of the participants indicated that they were marijuana smokers, and of this group, 34 percent noted that they used it before sex.

To find out how pot use factors into sexual satisfaction, the researchers developed a Sexual Health Survey addressing a broad variety of topics, including sex drive, lubrication, and the presence of sex-related pain.

Most women reported increases in sex drive, improvement in orgasm, decrease in pain, but no change in lubrication,’ the researchers wrote. These differences translate to 2.13 higher odds of reporting ‘satisfactory orgasms’ for women who smoke pot.

‘Marijuana appears to improve satisfaction with orgasm. Women who used marijuana before sex and those who used more frequently were more than twice as likely to report satisfactory orgasms as those who did not use marijuana before sex or used infrequently.

Our study is consistent with past studies of the effects of marijuana on sexual behaviour in women' the team concluded.

Nigerian popstar, Davido who campaigned for PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar has just reacted to the results of the presidential elections so far.

According to Davido, ‘we all tried, hopefully one day, real change will come’.

President Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has won the presidential election in Kaduna state with a total of 993,445 votes in 14 Local Government Areas.

The candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, scored 649,612 votes in 9 Local Governments Areas.

The collation of the results which held at the state INEC headquarters in Kaduna, was presided over by the state collation officer, Prof. B.B Shehu.

The result shows that former National Caretaker Chairman of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi representing Kaduna North senatorial zone and the PDP governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru, could not deliver their local governments to the PDP.
Makarfi is from Makarfi Local Government Area while Hunkuyi and Ashiru are from Kudan Local Government Area.

Also, Governor Nasir el-Rufai’s running mate, Hadiza Balarabe could not deliver her Sanga Local Government to the APC.

If you recollect in the year 2018, the Independent National Electoral Commision, INEC had reported that some underage voters were registered in some parts of the country because the commission feared for the lives of their registration officers, which was allegedly been threatened by some members of the community.

The Candidate of the PDP in the Bayelsa East Senatorial district of the State, Chief Ipigansi Izagara has raised alarm over alleged hijack of election materials in Nembe Basambiri and Okoroba areas of the state.

According to him, the shooting and hijack of materials were sponsored by the opposition party supporters and alleged that one person has been killed and five others injured.

He said the armed attack against PDP members started around 10pm on Friday with chasing out of PDP members in the area, “they have hijacked materials from our area with the assistance of soldiers ”

Also speaking, a chieftain of the PDP from Okoroba community in Nembe council, Benjamin, also alleged that in ward 11,12 and 13 of the area, the materials have been diverted with the aide of security agents.

“We have been waiting and did not see materials and ad-hoc staff from INEC. We learnt that they have been hijacked. Am at my unit 13 and no hope of voting,” he said.

English Premier League club Chelsea have been banned by FIFA from signing new players in the next two transfer windows.

The ban was imposed as punishment for breaking rules on registering under-age players, FIFA said on Friday.

It means the club will be unable to make signings until the end of January next year.

“The Disciplinary Committee sanctioned Chelsea with a ban on registering new players at both national and international level for the next two complete and consecutive registration periods,” FIFA said in a statement.

In addition, Chelsea were fined 600,000 Swiss francs ($600,000, 530,000 euros) and given a period of 90 days to regularise the situation of the minor players concerned.

The ban does not prevent players being released by the club and it does not apply to Chelsea’s women’s and futsal teams.

Chelsea have been given three days to appeal against FIFA’s decision.

The move follows a FIFA probe into Chelsea’s signing of foreign under-18 players, including the club’s former forward Bertrand Traore, a Burkina Faso international who now plays for French Ligue 1 club Lyon.

Traore signed professional forms for Chelsea in 2013 at the age of 18 but was not registered until January the following year.

French website Mediapart, quoting documents from Football Leaks, reported that FIFA had scrutinised 19 Chelsea signings.

Mediapart reported that FIFA found evidence that Chelsea had supplied misleading information about Traore’s signing and that he had made more than 20 appearances for the club at different age levels despite not being registered by the Football Association.

FIFA said Friday it was also fining the Football Association 510,000 Swiss francs for breaking the rules on signing minors.

The world governing body gave the FA a period of six months to update its processes concerning international transfers and the registration of minors.

Nigeria's main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has reacted to the arrest of one of its Senators, Rafiu Ibrahim on allegations of murder by the Nigerian police.

Below is a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbodiyan;

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) demands the immediate and unconditional release of our Kwara South Senatorial candidate, Senator Rufai Ibrahim and other members of the party framed-up, arrested and detained by the Police in Kwara state.

The PDP holds that the continued detention of Senator Ibrahim on the eve of a crucial election, in which he is a lead contender, is completely provocative.

The party also cautions the police to stop harassing, arresting and detaining its members on flimsy charges, as such will directly pitch security agents against the people in a manner that might spark off violent resistance with regrettable consequences.

This resort to police brutality by the APC is a script by a losing team which seeks to introduce violence and use the police to execute their rigging plots.

Nigerians will recall our vehement protest against the deployment of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s lackey, CP Kayode Egbetokun, as Kwara state Commissioner of Police, wherein we alerted of plots by the APC to use him to incite the people, cause pandemonium and pave the way for outright rigging in favour of President Buhari and all other candidates on the platform of APC.

However, PDP, in clear terms cautions the APC and their compromised security agents that nobody has the monopoly of show of strength. Our members in Kwara or any other state, for that matter, are law-abiding but will never allow themselves to be subjugated by anybody, particularly in this critical electoral process.

In this regard, our members should immediately activate their individual and collective defence mechanisms by using every legitimate means available, to resist the aggression of the APC and their compromised security agents as well as dismantle their rigging machineries.

We know that the plan of the APC is to stop our members from accessing their polling centres. Our members should deploy all legitimate means, including lawful self-preservation strategies and tactical manoeuvres to beat the aggressions, arrive at their respective polling centres and exercise their voting rights accordingly.

The PDP, therefore, calls on the Inspector General of Police to immediately call CP Kayode Egbetokun to order. We also call on lovers of democracy all over the world to rise in condemnation of this wicked harassment and arrest of our members ahead of a crucial election.”

A Peoples Democratic Party lawmaker, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim has been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Police Force over the killings of 4 people.

Ibrahim represents Kwara South Constituency in the Senate. His arrest is coming a day before the 2019 General elections. Hon. Muideen Abdulrahman, Chairman, PDP Kwara South Youth Forum, raised the alarm in a statement Thursday night.

The Statement read:

“The reason behind Senator Ibrahim’s arrest is currently unknown and reminiscent of last year’s arrest of Kwara PDP leaders in Kwara South constituency during the bye-election.

As at the time of this statement, Lola Ashiru, the candidate of the APC for the Kwara South Senatorial District, was holding a late-night rally, where he celebrated the arrest of Senator Ibrahim stating that the party had the “full support of the Government at the center.

We, the youths of Kwara South Constituency, hereby call on the international community, specifically, observers who have come to witness the February 23rd election, to take note of the partisan and irresponsible antics of the Nigeria Police Force. We also call on all well-meaning Nigerians to join us to call for the release of Distinguished Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, who is known as a peace-loving and highly-performing legislator who always puts the needs of his constituents first and foremost.

The founder and general overseer of the Omega Fire Ministry International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has warned his congregants against casting their votes for someone “who will cut their neck”.

In a video making the rounds on social media, Suleman said God told him that it was better to vote for someone who will steal the money than for someone who will cut their necks.

Although the cleric did not mention names, the battle of who rules Nigeria in the next fours years is between President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Apostle Suleman, who was addressing members of his church, pointed out that there may not better options for Nigerians to choose from, but, according to him, a thief was better than a killer.

Listen, we may not have a better option; We may not have a better whatever.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has promised automatic employment to members of the National Youth Sevice Corps, NYSC, who are outstanding during the general elections, starting from Saturday.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu gave the assurance during a briefing on Wednesday in Abuja.

Answering questions on the welfare of corps members seen sleeping on the floor the night before the postpones elections, Yakubu said assured that the welfare NYSC Corps members would be adequately taken care of during the conduct of the elections.


He said:

The youth corps members are among the most educated, most reliable, most patriotic, and most readily available ad-hoc staff we have… so we don’t joke with the wellbeing of corps members.

“Arising from my interaction with DG NYSC yesterday, they are looking at how they can mobilise mattresses, used by the youth corps members in camp to places where the youth corps members are going to stay the night so that the layover before we open the polling units on Saturday can be more comfortable for them.

I am waiting for the DG NYSC to submit the details to the commission, but I want to assure you that anything that the commission can do to make the corps members comfortable, and all other staff, including their welfare and security, we will do.

“Those who do exceptionally well during elections are accorded automatic employment by the commission.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says “only an act of God” can stop the conduct of the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly election slated for Saturday.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu stated this in Abuja while addressing a cross-section of the diplomatic community and international election monitoring groups in Nigeria, for the 2019 General Election.

The briefing, which was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in conjunction with INEC, is aimed at engaging with friends and partners of Nigeria on the rescheduled election.

Yakubu, who was represented by an INEC National Commissioner, Dr Mustapha Lecky, said that the commission had put in place everything possible to ensure the elections hold on Saturday.

The INEC boss said that the commission had no reason to feel that anything would stop the conduct of the election on Feb 23.

He said the commission has developed a six-point agenda of what needed to be done to ensure success of the election

He also said that the commission has completed the deployment of materials.

“We believe that as a prayerful nation the act of God has been assuaged and that things will go right, we have no reason to feel that anything will go wrong.

“We have received all the materials, they have been checked, audited people have been informed, party agents have gone there to check,” he said.

The official said that INEC had already taken responsibility for the postponement and that the body was committed to surpass achievement of previous elections in the country.

Italian football giant Juventus are planning to sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool, but would love to seek the advice of Ronaldo before making a bid.

Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has taken full responsibility for the postponement of the elections.

In a new statement released yesterday evening, he cited bad weather and other logistics issues, as well as cases of lawsuits filed against the commission. He, however, restated the commitment of the commission to ensuring free, fair and credible elections.

l. About thirteen hours ago, I conveyed to Nigerians the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reschedule the 2019 general elections by one week. Presidential and National Assembly elections earlier scheduled for 16th February 2019 will now hold on Saturday 23rd February 2019, while Governorship, State Assembly and FCT Area Council elections scheduled for 2nd March 20l9 will now hold on Saturday 9th March 2019. The one-week adjustment was a painful one for INEC, but necessary in the overall interest of our democracy.

2. Nigerians will recall that when this Commission was appointed in November 2015, we promised Nigerians two cardinal things. First, we shall work hard to consolidate the improvements made in the management of elections. Secondly, we shall always be open, transparent and responsive. We have strived diligently to keep these promises in very trying circumstances.

3. In keeping with our promise to consolidate the gains of the last two electoral cycles, the Commission has conducted 195 rerun and off-season elections across the country since the last general elections. Most of these elections have been generally adjudged to show progressive improvements in planning, execution and outcomes.

4. This commitment to continue to improve on election administration has informed our preparations for the 20l9 general elections. Our goal is to plan carefully, execute meticulously and bring stability into election management in Nigeria. Consequently, we announced fixed dates for elections in Nigeria to the effect that Presidential and National Assembly elections will always hold on the third Saturday in February of an election year. While the Governorship and State Assembly elections follow two weeks later. Having settled this, we began the planning quite early, with a Strategic Plan (SP), 3 Strategic Programme of Action (SPA) and an Election Project Plan (EPP). In fact, the plan for the 2019 general elections was ready in November 2017 and we subsequently issued the timetable and schedule of activities for the elections over one year ago on 9th January 2018. We carefully followed the timetable and implemented 13 of the 14 activities as scheduled. We kept to the timeframe and have not missed the date fixed for any single activity.

Counsellor Lutterodt has stated that men who are not sexually strong should stay away from Nurses, Teachers and female worship leaders.

In an interview with GHOne TV, the controversial Ghanaian relationship expert stated that such women are very strong and extremely good in bed and can only be satisfied by strong men.

The list for top 10 highest-paid footballers in the world has been revealed.

In L’Equipe’s annual salary report, the French news outlet revealed who the 10 best-paid footballers in Europe are going by monthly wage before tax, with Barcelona striker Lionel Messi on top of the list with £7.3million beating long-term rival Cristiano Ronaldo in second who earns a staggering £4.1m a month before tax.

EFCC has Obinna Udoji, a graduate of the Department of Building Technology, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, for a $9,654 fraud.

He was arrested by operatives of the EFCC on January 7, 2019 following intelligence report that he fraudulently obtained money from one Alina Ruso, which he claimed was to be invested in a company, Zenith Margin, which turned out to be false. He was subsequently arraigned before Justice A.O. Onovo of an Enugu State High Court, for the offence of obtaining money by false pretence, to which he pleaded “guilty”.

The trial judge, however, asked the prosecution led by Innocent Mbachie, to present its witness, “in order for the court to hear the facts of the case”. Thereafter, a prosecution witness was called, who narrated how an intelligence report was received by the EFCC, which led to the investigation and arrest of Udoji.

Tendered as evidence, were the intelligence report, statements, bank statements, scanned emails from Udoji’s computer and emails from the EFCC to the victim to establish the case, including Udoji’s application for plea bargain.

Mbachie, further told the court that Udoji had returned the money to his victim, and urged the court to “convict him in accordance to Section 367 subsection 8, 9 and 10 of the Administration of criminal Justice Act”.

Defence counsel, T.U. Nweke, pleaded with the judge to “temper justice with mercy” as his client was a first-time offender and an orphan. Justice Onovo, on February 7, 2019 sentenced him to one year in prison, noting that, “I took cognizance of his plea and his restituting of the total sum to the victim”.

The Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere has challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to publicly declare his assets.

Leader of Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti made the call while reminding Buhari of the promises he made in 2014 that he would declare his assets.

In a letter he personally signed entitled “I pledge to Nigeria”, Fasoranti said the president had vowed before the electorate that all his political appointees would only earn salaries and allowances as prescribed by the Revenue and Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission (RMFAC).

He said: “I pledge to publicly declare my assets and liabilities, encourage all my appointees to publicity declare their assets and liabilities as a pre-condition for appointment.

“It is now four months to the end of the four-year tenure of Mr. President and this pledge has not been fulfilled. Instead of doing what he pledged, presidential aides have been giving all manners of untenable excuses in the last three and a half years.

“This is a moral burden as it is said that he who comes to equity must come with clean hands and that examples are better than precepts.”

The Afenifere leader stated that a leader must not set for others, standards that are very difficult for him to meet in the order of “do as I say and not as I do”.

He said: “The jeopardy of President Buhari anti-corruption war has really been one set of rules for the goose and another set for the gander.

“Afenifere therefore asks the president to immediately make his assets declaration form public so Nigerians can hold him as a man of his words.

“Such a power of example sets greater tone for good conduct in society than a thousand arbitrariness in the name of fighting corruption. The true meaning of leadership is being able to lead by higher standards.”

A civil rights organization, Legislative Probity and Accountability (LPA), has linked the planned impeachment of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State to the desperate accusation by his adversaries that he had been funding the campaign of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje.

The LPA made this claim in a statement signed by its Chairman, Olu Fajana, in Abuja on Tuesday.

Tue CSO also issued the Lagos House of Assembly five days deadline to account for the N28.8 billion running cost collected under the leadership of Mudashiru Obasa.

It said if the House of Assembly failed, it would mobilise Nigerians and other progressive forces and use all legal instruments to compel them to account.

Fajana said,

“As a legislative Probity and Accountability non-governmental organization, we are demanding that the Lagos House of Assembly should within the next five days account for how the N28.8 billion so far collected as running cost by the Obasa-led House has been expended. If they fail, we shall mobilise Nigerians of likeminds and legally compel the Assembly to do the needful.”

According to him, the adversaries had also failed to find any evidence that Ambode sponsored thugs that disrupted the All Progressives Congress governorship campaign flag-off in Ikeja a few weeks ago.
