A lecturer in the Accounting Department of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Dr O.O Aduwo, was yesterday disgraced after he was allegedly caught pants down while attempting to have sex with one of his female students simply identified as Nike who he had invited to his home.

According to reports by the students of the Institution, Dr Aduwo is allegedly well known for pestering his female students for sex.

Yesterday, Nike alongside her boyfriend and some of her other friends, planned that she should go and see the randy lecturer as he demanded. While in his home, Nike's boyfriend and her friends who were laying siege outside the house, barged into the room and caught him on tape stark naked.

In a video made available to LIB, the lecturer who was visibly shaken after he was apprehended, could be heard appealing for a private meeting with those who caught him.

According to students of the Institution, Nike allegedly shared the video on her Whatsapp stories.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has come under attack for criticizing June 12 Democracy Day celebration.

A statement from President Muhammadu Buhari Media Organisation signed by the chairman, Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke, accused Obasanjo of not seeing anything good in another leader, as he had rated late President Umar Yar’Adua and former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administrations low.

Also, his eight-year administration (1999-2007) came under questioning for allegedly doing nothing on the assassination of the late Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Bola Ige.

BMO said that Obasanjo was just being petty and mischievous with his latest tirade against President Muhammadu Buhari on the occasion of the maiden celebration of June 12 as Democracy Day in the country.



The statement claimed that he (Obasanjo) was bitter that President Buhari took measured steps to immortalise the late Moshood Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12 1993 election.

Obasanjo had claimed on the eve of June 12, 2019 that disaster was looming in Nigeria over President Buhari’s inefficiencies in power and backed his claims by shunning the Democracy Day event in Abuja.

Reacting to Obasanjo’s scathing remarks against Buhari’s government, BMO said: “First, it was his infantile Islamization agenda claim, now Chief Obasanjo who, many Nigerians agree, was the biggest beneficiary of the democracy that Abiola paid the supreme sacrifice for, has opted for a disjointed attack on Buhari mainly to divert attention from the celebration of the man he probably hated more than the President.

“How else can anyone describe a situation where a former President who literally rode to the Presidency on the back of millions of Nigerians, who were relentless in demanding a return to civil rule, but could not as much as acknowledge President Buhari’s efforts to atone for the damage done to the polity with the annulment of that election?

“But even as Obasanjo chose the day to launch another puerile and incoherent attack on the President, Nigerians, from all indications, are united in praising Buhari for going beyond the investiture of Abiola, his then running mate, Baba Gana Kingibe and the foremost human rights crusader Gani Fawehinmi, with national honours few months ago, to renaming the Abuja National Stadium as Moshood Abiola Stadium.

“This incidentally is one act that the former President bluntly refused to do in office even after the Senate, in 2003, unanimously passed a resolution for the just constructed stadium to be named after the national icon.

“It is on record that he once stunned the nation by declaring that the late Abiola was not the messiah that Nigeria needed. This more than anything spoke volumes about why Obasanjo failed to grant official recognition to June 12 or honour the memory of the man who personified the day that has since 1993 been described as a watershed in Nigeria’s democracy.

“So it cannot be a surprise that he attempted to water down the celebration of a man he hated, by another one that he equally hates, for not allowing him to have his way.”

The management of the University of Ibadan (UI) has insisted that their cut-off mark remains 200.

This comes a day after the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) and stakeholders of higher institutions agreed on 160.

UI, on its part, said it will have nothing to do with the national minimum cut-off mark.

In a statement by the office of its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, the institution said: “For the avoidance of doubts in the minds of our prospective admission seekers, their parents and guardians, our alumni and alumnae and the general public, the minimum mark for any course at the University of Ibadan, and all its Affiliated Institutions, remains 200 out of the maximum of 400.

“This has been the position of the Senate of the University since the matriculation examinations into Nigerian Universities commenced in 1978.”

The State Security Service on Wednesday announced a nationwide crackdown on individuals allegedly caught posting inciting materials on the Internet, in a move that could provoke fresh debates about the potency of Nigerian Constitution’s free speech safeguards.

The SSS said it had recently observed that some social media users were skewing Nigeria’s history to promote ethnic violence and tip the nation into crisis, a development it said must be urgently reversed through state interference.

The secret police’s spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, said in a statement to PREMIUM TIMES that some “unpatriotic” Nigerians have been using social media platforms to make “unguarded public statements and/or use the social media platforms to instil fear in the minds of citizens”.

Former Governor Rocha Okorocha was denied access into the National Assembly after it emerged today that a high court sitting in Imo state directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to issue him a certificate of return.

Recall that Rochas Okorocha was elected as senator-elect for Imo west senatorial district in a controversial manner.

Ngozi Ukoha, a judge, restrained INEC from “departing from its decision not to issue a certificate of return in respect of Imo west senatorial district election.”

A copy of the judgement dated Tuesday, June 11, was seen by TheCable.

The judge gave the order while ruling on an application filed by Osita Izunaso of the All Progressives Grand Alliances (APGA), pending the determination of the motion on notice challenging the victory of Okorocha who is of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The commission had refused to issue the certificate to Okorocha who was declared winner of the poll after the returning officer reported that he declared the former governor winner under duress.

But INEC said it would meet to consider the the order of the federal high court, Abuja, which asked it to issue the certificate to Okorocha.

The latest court order is the third on the issue, coming after that of the federal high court and a May 23 order from the high court of Imo directing INEC not to issue a certificate of return to any of the candidates in the election.

INEC is expected to announce its decision on the matter later on Tuesday.

Okorocha had earlier been denied accreditation when he arrived the National Assembly Complex for the ongoing inauguration.

The Special Adviser to former Senate President Bukola Saraki on New Media, Bamikole Omishore, has congratulated the newly sworn-in President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, while calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to end the blame game and get to work, according to a report by Punch.

Nigerian lawyer and member of the All Progressives Congress, Ovie Omo-Agege has emerged as the Deputy Senate of the 9th Senate.

The faith realm is the glory realm. Everyone who occupies the realm of faith must also occupy the realm of glory. Beloved, I want you to understand that faith moves people to the realm of God, and the realm that God occupies is the realm of possibilities.

MESSAGE:

A qualification is an official requirement that makes a person eligible for an entitlement or position. It can take the form of a condition that must be fulfilled before a person is considered suitable for a privileged position, or a quality or accomplishment that makes a person acceptable for a particular job or activity. Basically, a qualification is a show of skill, intelligence, knowledge, experience, competence, talent and special abilities.

These are obviously required in the appointment of anyone who will take up professional duties and assignments in the fields of medicine, banking and finance, security, law, science and technology, etc. Well, I can confidently tell you that a high level of competence is also required for spiritual appointments, because (1 Timothy 3:6) says a man of God should not be a novice. (2 Timothy 2:15) says further that ministers of God must study to show themselves approved unto God as confident workers in His vineyard, having the ability to correctly dissect the word of truth.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday abolished age discrimination against job seekers in Federal Government Ministries, Agencies and Departments (MDAs).

This followed the passage, by the lawmakers, of a “Bill for an Act to Eradicate the Age Discrimination against Job seekers in Federal Government Agencies,” sponsored by Sergius Ogun (APC, Edo) and Babajimi Benson (APC, Lagos).

The bill, which was read for the second time in 2018, subsequently passed third reading after unanimous adoption by the lawmakers and Speaker Yakubu Dogara.

Ogun, moving a motion for a third reading of the bill, said the new law seeks to ensure that no Nigerian job seeker is disqualified from government employment on the basis of age.

He noted that the bill, when enacted, would first take effect in Federal Government MDAs with the hope that private employers of labour would follow suit later.

“It is a key responsibility of we parliamentarians, as representatives of the people, to ensure that no Nigerian job seeker is discriminated against with regard to age in employment opportunities in Federal Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs),” Ogun submitted.

The lawmaker added that the bill would also ensure that the fundamental human rights of job seekers are safeguarded while significantly reducing the spiralling number of unemployed graduates and school leavers on the streets.

He lamented that the incessant strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has made it almost impossible for Nigerian university students to graduate within stipulated time, hence the necessity of the bill.

Meanwhile, Benson, a co-sponsor of the bill, pointed out that apart from age, sex, religion and ethnicity, were other variables in which discrimination is rampant in government employment.

He therefore called for the abolition of such barriers that “deprives qualified, energetic, and patriotic Nigerians the opportunity to fulfil their goals and contribute to societal development.”

In his contribution, Deputy Speaker, Yusuf Lasun (APC, Osun) argued that the major aim of the bill has been taken care of by relevant provisions of the 1999 Constitution as amended, which if enforced, could be taken advantage of by anyone affected by discrimination in government employment.

For House spokesman, Abdulrazak Namdas (APC, Adamawa), age ceiling for job seekers could only apply to societies with stable education calendar, not in Nigeria with recurring strikes, especially in public universities.

When put to voice vote by Speaker Yakubu Dogara, the bill was unanimously adopted and passed for third reading.

President Buhari has expressed sadness at the level of poverty in Nigeria.

Speaking when he hosted Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Ministers, Service Chiefs, Heads of Security Agencies and Chief Executives of Federal Government Agencies and Institutions to a breaking of fast at the Presidential Villa, Abuja last night, President Buhari said what upsets him when he drives around the country is the level of poverty he sees.

“When I drive around the country what upset me very much is the status of our poor people in this country. You see young people, the so-called Almajiris with tore dresses, with plastic bowl. They are looking basically for what to eat. The question of education (to them) is a luxury. I think Nigerian elite we are all failing because I think we should have a programme that will at least guarantee some basic education for our people no matter how poor they are.

“So, I welcome the Vice-President for initiating the School feeding programme. If you check in your localities the enrolment into schools improved because a lot of children can get at least one good meal a day. This is the position of this country. But, culturally some of us are quiet merciless, we don’t care about what happen to others we just keep on moving forward.

“This `market money’ I warned the Vice-President I don’t like him to be mobbed, especially the way I see hefty women coming and confronting him, he should be very careful. These are very good initiatives. US singer and song writer, Queen Naija has revealed some of the things people never get told when they go for cosmetic surgery to enhance their beauty.

In a post she shared, she opened up about having tummy tuck because of some health issues.

“I got a tummy tuck. I got my hernia repaired ’cause around my navel it would puff out at the top, and that was because my loose skin, plus my hernia, plus my fibrosis. I had really really bad fibrosis from the previous smart lipo I had, like, two years ago.”

Queen Naija also spoke about the pain she felt after the surgery:


“The whole first week was rough for me. Not even because of the pain. The pain wasn’t that excruciating. It wasn’t unbearable. It was the medication they put me on. You know what? I’m just gonna say the percocet, because the antibiotic was fine and everything else. But the percocet they put me on actually caused me to have really really really bad anxiety at night, and like sleep paralysis.”

Porn star, Kirsty Collins was rushed to the hospital and feared she might die after a lip job left her with abnormally swollen lips.

Kirsty Collins, 33 – who is known as Bambi Black to fans – paid £300 to have her lips injected with hyaluronidase to remove her existing filler so she could start all over again. But she developed an allergic reaction to the injection, causing her lips to swell to at least 4 times its natural size.

She was rushed to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, where doctors gave her steroids and antihistamines, to combat her extreme reaction, before putting her “on watch” for seven hours.

Narrating the ordeal, she said: “Within minutes of having the injection I didn’t feel right at all, I started to panic and my heart was beating right out of my chest.”

She continued: “I knew from the get-go something wasn’t right, as within seconds of the beautician injecting my upper lip, I felt this burning sensation begin to spread across my face. The next thing I knew, my upper lip was growing before my very eyes. I could see and feel it getting bigger and bigger. Luckily my manager was with me and insisted on calling an ambulance, so within half-an-hour I was in the emergency room.”

Kirsty is no stranger to surgery and she explained she goes under the knife often because of the demands of the industry she works in.
