The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB in its announcement of plans to sanitize the examination sub-sector in Nigeria, alleged that most corrupt Nigerian leaders started off with exam fraud.

According to the exam body, it is a fallacy to think that these leaders will outgrow that phase of experimenting with examination malpractices. The disclosure made in JAMB's weekly bulletin, reads in full;

“Corruption is not a peculiar African or Nigerian problem. Regrettably, most of the measures deployed to fight corruption, more often than not, fail to yield desired results. If the malaise of corruption is not holistically addressed at the stage of examination malpractice, which is most times sponsored by parents, it will grow to become a monster.

“Many corrupt leaders today might have started off on this path through experimenting with examination malpractices. It is a fallacy to think that such individuals would outgrow such acts. This set of individuals mature to something more destructive and demeaning in the long run. The polluting effects of corruption warrant the adoption of a holistic approach in fighting corruption right from the school level.

“JAMB is leading the onslaught against perpetrators of examination infractions. It is the responsibility of citizens and other government agencies to sign up for this critical national assignment. Unfortunately, national challenges are sometimes perceived by Nigerians as the exclusive headache of the agency.”

Filmmaker and organiser of the Abuja International Film Festival, Fidelis Duker, is not happy that popular cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, is being featured in Nigerian films. He stated that much on his social media page during the week.

Clarifying his position in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Duker said, “We should not glamourise such things. We have children who are growing. As a father, these are not the kinds of things I want my children to learn. It is alien to our culture. I don’t see any reason why a man would dress like a woman. Some people defend him and say he is only ‘acting’, but as for me, it’s not appropriate.


“For those who have featured him (Bobrisky) in their movies, they are only exploiting his popularity, especially on social media. They are not using him because he is a fantastic actor. It’s not good enough that we celebrate mediocrity. There are a lot of cases of rape and other vices now, and it is because of things like this. We need to understand that our moral values are very important to us. I expect that the movie industry should be a platform where morals, values and ethics should be the focal points. Unfortunately, what you find in most of the films is that they celebrate immorality.”

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and PDP’s presidential aspirant in 2019 Presidential election has condemned the alleged killing of Pa Reuben Fasoranti’s daughter by herdsmen.

Atiku, who reacted via his Twitter handle, called on the security operatives to initiate a speedy and thorough investigation to bring her killers to book, and stem the epidemic of insecurity in the land.

He wrote:

A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to the killing of daughter to Afenifere leader, Ruben Fasoranti, Mrs Funke Olakunrin.

Mrs Funke Olakunrin, was killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Thursday.

The report quoted an eyewitness as saying that the 58-year-old died of gunshot wounds.

According to the eyewitness, Olakunrin was suspectedly shot by Fulani herdsmen at Ore junction in Ondo State earlier on Friday.

Reacting Fani-Kayode on his Twitter Page, described the killing as ‘the final straw.’

He tweeted, “I have just spoken to my brother Yinka Odumakin and he has confirmed to me that the daughter of our very own Baba Fasoranti, the leader of Afenifere, was slaughtered by Fulani herdsmen in Ore today.

“This is the final straw. The Yoruba MUST act NOW. We must defend our people!”

Actress Dolly Nwaduba has revealed in a new interview what she had intended to do to her ex-boyfriend on his wedding day for breaking her heart.

Nwaduba, who is a writer and producer, while speaking with Inside Nollywood narrated her unforgettable heartbreak experience.

A 21-year-old primary school teacher at Ogijo, Ogun State, Moshood Abdul has been arrested after allegedly sexually molesting three female pupils.

The suspect allegedly lured the pupils to one of the classrooms penultimate Monday at Labori Oloja area of Ogijo with N100 each.

Passers-by who heard the cries of the pupils stormed the classroom and caught Moshood in the act, sources said.

He was immediately arrested and handed over to the police at So Safe Corps in the community.

One source said:”The three pupils are not more than 10 years old and they are all primary school pupils.

“The suspect later confessed that he had been molesting pupils in the school for some time and he has been handed over to the police in the community.’’

Police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi could not confirm the incident at press time.

· He is related to Afrobeat Legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti

Soyinka is the cousin of the late revolutionary African musician Fela Kuti. Wole’s mother, Grace, was a member of the Ransome-Kuti family known for its contributions to Nigerian art, religion, education, medicine and politics. Aside from Fela, his other cousins include activists Beko Ransome-Kuti and Yemisi Ransome-Kuti and former Health Minister Late Olikoye Ransome-Kuti.

· He has been married three times and divorced twice

His first marriage was in 1958 to the late British writer, Barbara Dixon, whom he met at the University of Leeds in the 1950s. Barbara was the mother of his first son, Olaokun.

His second marriage was in 1963 to Nigerian librarian Olaide Idowu with whom he had three daughters: Moremi, Iyetade (deceased), Peyibomi and a second son, Ilemakin.

He has been married to his third and current wife, Adefolake Soyinka since 1989 and has three children with her. Adefolake is a former student of Soyinka.

· He lost the Oxford Professor of Poetry

Soyinka lost the race to be Oxford’s Professor of poetry to English poet, playwright and novelist, Simon Armitage after he was betrayed by Melvyn Bragg. What the Nobel Laureate missed out on is the second most prestigious poetry position in the UK.

· He fled Nigeria on a motorcycle hounded by Abacha

During the military reign of General Sani Abacha, Wole Soyinka who spoke out against the junta had to flee via the ‘NADECO’ route. Wole Soyinka fled on a motorcycle to preserve his life. General Abacha pronounced a death sentence on him “in absentia”. With civilian rule restored to Nigeria in 1999, Soyinka returned to the nation.

The National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) was formed on May 15, 1994 by a broad coalition of Nigerian democrats, who called on the military government of Sani Abacha to step down in favour of the winner of the June 12, 1993 election, M. K. O. Abiola. The members mostly came from the southwest of the country. They quickly became the symbol of mass resistance against military rule.

· He wrote poems on tissue paper while in prison

While behind bars despite being denied access to pens and paper, he improvised. Soyinka wrote poetry on tissue paper, which was published in a collection titled Poems from Prison. His experiences in prison are recounted in his 1972 book The Man Died: Prison Notes of Wole Soyinka.

· He was a Professor at Obafemi Awolowo University

From 1975 to 1999, he was a Professor of Comparative Literature at the Obafemi Awolowo University then called the University of Ife. With civilian rule restored to Nigeria in 1999, he was made Professor emeritus. Soyinka has been a Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.


· He has been named Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

This is a Nigerian honor first established in 1964 people who served and benefited Nigeria. Soyinka was awarded in 1986, the same year he won the Nobel Prize for Literature. The medal was awarded in 1986 by General Ibrahim Babangida, a former military ruler.

On Sunday, July 24, 1994, he threw away his ‘national merit’ medal in Tafawa Balewa Square. He got angry that police halted the march he led for the restoration of democracy, end to military rule and release of Chief MKO Abiola.

· He does not allow trespassing cars in his forest

The literary icon is intent on preserving the purity of his surroundings. There are clear signposts with this order in his forest in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

· He helped found the first confraternity in Nigeria

While pursuing a degree in English literature, Greek and Western history at University College in Ibadan, Soyinka helped founded the Pyrates Confraternity with six others. It was built as an anti-corruption and justice-seeking student organization, themes that would play into much of his later work.

· He is not religious although his father was an Anglican minister

His father, Samuel Ayodele Soyinka (whom he called S.A. or “Essay”) was an Anglican minister and headmaster of St. Peters School in Abẹokuta. The embattled Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Elisha Ishaqu Abbo, who was caught on camera assaulting a nursing mother [sub][/sub]at a intimacy gadget shop in Abuja, has been released on bail by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command.

He was released Friday morning.

Senator Abbo, who had earlier tendered an apology to Nigerians and his victim, Bibra, over the incident, had presented himself to the Police for investigation on Thursday.

PRNigeria reports that the first-time Senator was not just granted bail after answering questions asked by Police, but was asked to go due to the fact that the lady he physically assaulted was not around to testify and give her own side of the story.

A police source said the victim travelled out of Abuja to attend a burial ceremony of a close family relation.

The Police are expected to resume their probe once the lady returns.

In 2009, Ese Walter found herself in the spotlight after she came forward to accuse Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the senior pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) of trying to manipulate her into having a sexual affair with him.

In wake of the recent rape allegation against Fatoyinbo by Busola Dakolo, the wife of Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, Walter has found herself being talked about once again.

Walter who had earlier stated that she does not want to be dragged into the current scandal in her post had said she is done playing the victim role because she has since moved on from that aspect of her life.

In a post on her Facebook page, Walter has now clarified rumours making the rounds about her.

According to her, she has never been raped in her entire life and people need to stop spreading false news.

Some media outlets, as well as individuals, have been alleging that Walter was raped by Fatoyinbo back in 2009. Clearing the air on the misconception, she wrote,

“Ok, it begs to be said. I have never been raped in my life. Don’t spread false news for trend. Please.”

It would be recalled that since Dakolo came forward with her rape allegation, there has been a clamour for Fatoyinbo to step down as a pastor in COZA as well as calls for his arrest and prosecution.

In his reaction to the allegations, Fatoyinbo maintained his innocence although he decided to take a leave of absence from the pulpit in a move that was referenced as being in the best interest of the body of Christ.

Leadership is not the only problem in Nigeria. Followership is the worse of all Nigeria's Social, Political, psychological and economic problems.

I have tremendous respect and regards to youths in countries like Algeria, Venezuela, Brazil, Kenya, South Africa, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra Lone and presumably, the youths of the Congo and the Gambia among others.

I have watched governance activities in Nigeria since 2003, the leadership maybe bad as postulated, but followers are distracted and don't really know what they should demand from the powerful in the Society.

Nigeria is the only country I have noticed that its government is stronger than the people. In other climes, the masses are stronger than the government.

Again, in Nigeria, whatsoever the government does, some groups will support and other groups will remain opposed while the others will be neutral.

There is no collective unity in Nigeria. Everything the leadership choose to do must get approval from a certain facet of the citizenry.

It is troublesome and worrisome indeed to see Nigerians especially the youths misbehaving despite their certificates and degrees acquisition.

WHAT MAKES OTHER YOUTHS TO PROTEST IN OTHER COUNTRIES:

1. Bad or unfavorable governance
2. Lack of core basic amenities like roads, water, health insurance or healthcare, and education.
3. Threat to their lives like an alien invasion.
4. Insecurities, insurgencies and insurrections.
5. High level of inequality, unemployment and poverty.
6. Unclear governmental policies and programs
7. Unfulfilled promises of government to the people.
8. Dictatorial and anarchical cum fascist and militaristic government.
9. Lack of constitutional due process and absence of constitutionalism.
10. Threat to national symbols and image.
11. Judicial, legislature and executive disregard to the people and national common goals etc.

I wasn't interested in knowing what happened between the pastor of COZA and the lady in question. Certainly, another lady has written on how she was allegedly raped by a popular pastor at Ikotun axis of Lagos. And I am not defending the accused or the accuser.

Another lady identified as Franca E. has come out with rape allegation against the Senior Pastor of COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo.

The lady said that she has all the evidence intact, in case the pastor dares to deny it.

It was reported that Busola, wife of music star, Timi Dakolo, revealed how the cleric raped her.

The Pastor has since denied the rape allegation, saying that he has not raped anyone even as an unbeliever.

However, the new lady revealed that Biodun, who is the founder and General Overseer of COZA went all out to talk down on his wife just to sleep with her.

She wrote on Instagram, “I was introduced to the church in Abuja by my childhood friend, who moved to Abuja from Calabar two years before I did. When I joined, she was also a PCU worker.

“I really felt welcome in the church up until my friend started having problems with other women. She told me it was because Pastor Biodun trusted her with so many official things even above workers that were there before her.

“I believed her until the day she had an misunderstanding with another worker who called her ‘Ashewo Mary Magdalene’ in the church. After that, her enthusiasm for church started waning while mine was getting stronger till the day she told me she was leaving the church and shortly after she left.

“By that time, Pastor Biodun had developed an interest in counseling me and then started telling me to take my friends place as a PCU worker. I was reluctant because I didnt feel like coming to church early and leaving late but Pastor Zbiodun assured me that his personal driver will pick me and drop me off and so I agreed.

“I started work as arranged but after a while, I noticed that the pastor did not respect personal space when talking to me when we were alone.



“He would stand soooooo close and rub my upper arms or my back which made me very uncomfortable. The final straw was when he said I should go with him to Lagos to take notes and transfer same online immediately for some Pentecostal thing he was attending and he knew I was very computer literate.

“I was excited till we reached Lagos and I realized that only one room was booked at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi. Of course I complaint and the Pastor called the front desk ( or pretended to) to demand for another room.

“He said they would call back when the room was ready. He then told me to help massage his back becos he has back ache from sitting on the flight. I said I was tired since it was already after 8. He then insisted I lay down on the bed to rest while waiting.

The Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA) has asked the police to invite Biodun Fatoyimbo, pastor of CommonWealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), over the allegation of rape levelled against him.

In a statement on Friday, Pelumi Olajengbesi, COPA convener, said the police ought to probe the allegation, given that rape is a criminal offence.“By a community reading or Sections 4 & 24 of the Police Act, the Nigeria Police Force must urgently invite Pastor Biodun Fatoyimbo to appear before it to out to rest all sundry matters related thereto this matter. This is a demand,” the statement read.

Regardless, the force must begin a thorough independent investigation of the allegations against Pastor Fatoyimbo given that rape is a criminal matter squarely within their purview and mandate as the law enforcement arm of the people.

The Nigeria Police Force are to whereupon make its findings public and proceed to prosecute the culprit, without delay, where it’s investigations turn up sufficient material for a case of rape.

A Nigerian woman, Ene with the twitter handle Airneh_ has given Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo 24 hours to apologize to Busola Dakolo, wife of musician, Timi Dakolo for raping the young woman.

The woman in a tweet said failure will force a protest at the COZA headquaters in Abuja come Sunday.

She wrote: ‘I’m giving Pastor Biodun 24 hours to reply, apologise and also face the law or else I might just Bleep around on Sunday and go to COZA with placards saying RAPIST’.

Several people have supported her and are already hinting at the possibility of a Nationwide protest at every COZA branch in the country.

Twenty-year-old Patience Oklu, wife of 27-year-old farmer, Collins Ainoo on Friday, June 7, 2019 gave birth to a two-headed baby at Mensakrom Hospital in the Agona East District of the Central region of Ghana.

According to the couple, who live at Peterkwa, also in the Agona East Municipality, the two weeks old baby is now at home with no medical attention because they have not been able to raise money for a scan and the necessary surgery.


In an interview with Adomonline, father of the baby, Mr Ainoo said they were yet to get any help for the child.“This is our second child and it is strange to us he came out this way.

We were transferred to Korle-Bu on Tuesday from Swedru Hospital and we were told treatment can be administered after the scan which requires GH¢ 600.00, so we are praying to God to bring us helpers,” they narrated.

They are, thus, appealing to well-meaning Ghanaians and the government to assist them in raising GH¢ 600.00 for a scan to enable doctors determine the cause of the two head formation and the necessary medical attention needed.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that the problem of extreme poverty in Nigeria keeps him up at night.


The Vice President disclosed this at a dinner and Interactive Session with Faculty Members, Harvard Business School (HBS) in Lagos on Tuesday June 18th.

“I think what keeps me up at night has to do with extreme poverty. The issue is that the largest number of those who vote for us are the very poor.

The promises that government makes to them is that their lives will be better and obviously they are looking at their lives being better in the shortest possible time.

I will like to see Nigeria being an industrialised nation in the next 10 years; a very strong middle class and most people living above poverty line.” he said

Embattled Nigerian rapper, Naira Marley has finally been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The rapper was arrested on the 10th of May over internet fraud allegations and forgery by the anti-graft agency alongside fellow rapper, Zlatan Ibile and he was arraigned in court on the 13th of May.

His bailing hearing was scheduled for the 30th of and he was granted bail of N2m by the court and the case continues in October.

Naira Marley regained freedom on Friday after being cleared by the anti-graft agency and the rapper waswasted no time in thanking his fans.
