i don't think you understand the post, marriage list is different from the general celebration expenses, it is what the family wants before they will release their daughter, the general ceremony is usually more expensive than the marriage list, if the man is already spending N1. 2m on just marriage list, just imagine how much the total marriage will cost , some families are just tio greedy.

The local farmers being the sole producers of rice for our huge population, could not meet up with the market demand, so rice became scare thus making sellers inflate the price.

When foreign rice was in the market, there was surplus, anyone could easily import rice provided you had the financial resources to do so. This made the price very competitive. But with the banning of foreign rice, and local farmers not being able to meet up with the huge demand, the price would definitely keep rising.

The only solution to this is to open the borders and lift the ban on rice importation. Only then would we experience a significant drop in the price.

Local production of rice and restricting importation of foreign rice were policies that were supposed to promote and build the Nigerian economy. Unfortunately, excessive greed among local farmers and failure of govt have made this impossible. Nigerians cannot continue to die in silence because of greedy farmers and bad govt policies. The govt should completely remove any form of restriction on rice importation so that Nigerian farmers will have strong competition, this is what will bring down the price of rice, it happened before, rice was cheaper when foreign import removed arrogant attitude from Nigerian farmers

The govt has done nothing to rescue the naira and the banks want to create a form of cryptocurrency denominated in naira . These people want to kill people's savings. Govt should first create policies to strengthen the naira to make it less risky when people invest in naira-denominated investments.

things are expensive not because of too much money in circulation but because govt has never done anything to reduce the cost of production and logistics in the supply chain. Many companies still produce their products using diesel because power is still very poor in Nigeria, our naira keeps dying everyday which makes getting raw materials for production more expensive since most raw materials are denominated in dollars. Transporting finished products and other logistics issues are also a very expensive venture. The govt is doing little or nothing to curtail these issues
