I have been trying to upload some of my pictures but I guess the size of my pictures is a challenge. I snapped them with my iPhone and I think the least size is not less than 5mb. Any suggestion on what to do?

Amakohia as you descend Orlu road

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wN-r8x_WNYU
Amakohia is another part of Owerri with massive real estate development. Coming in from Ellen sirleaf Road. You will think you are in an estate construction site in lekki and you begin to wonder “who are those building these houses, where are they making these monies from? Is it not this same buhari’s Nigeria where everybody is shouting recession?” grin

Where's the useless old man called abagworo? So all of a sudden afam4eva and asha80 are no longer chino? Simply because they are not busting you yet.

See how you are now chatting with happiness with them but when they turn around to say the bitter truth, they become Chino . cheesy

These are their posts few weeks back. cheesy
bro, there is no need for all these. Just sheath your sword. Peace.

although i agree with you on the dualization up to attah but i disagree that the dualization is the major issue of the traffic you encountered..it is mostly the heavy influx of people in to imo for the yuletide(owerri umuahia federal highway also experienced such with the peak being the ahiara junction logjam) and most importantly not enough detour roads off that axis of owerri okigwe highway
You right about the influx of people. But from what I gathered, on a normal day, that road usually jamparked. Especially at Nwkorji where u have the orji market that rochas destroyed with the aim of rebuilding it but abandoned it. If only they can expand that road it will be good. Orji is becoming crowded with people moving in because of low rent and new development going on in the inter land.

Afam4eva:
You mean Rochas Foundation College of Africa (ROFOCA)?
No, not that. ROFOCA has the roundabout opposite it. The massive school is by the left, going further, when heading towards Orji flyover. It’s a 2 or 3 story building, can’t remember. But the school is massive and lengthy

Abagworo:
Started from Spibat road via Orji flyover then Okigwe road and Mbari street. All the roads were built by Okorocha especially Spibat the road I display below which wasn't in existence as a tarred road in 2011.
This road is another road I enjoyed and would be another highbrow in future with the massive hotels and multi stores building along that road. Ther is also a massive school being built along the road. You can’t find any 2storey there. It all starts from 3storey with wide roads, straight down to orji flyover.

asha80:
i appreciate the widening of orji/okigwe and mbari roads..what has mbari center being turned to?last i remember it became a joint..however the medians on those roads are poor quality as usual
I wished they extended the road widening down to akabo, Amawozuzu, Amalim and attah. The kind of tracffic on that road due to its narrow finalization done by ohakim, this Xmas was hell. Especially starting from orji. It was terrible. Going from orji to Amawozuzu on a free road won’t take more than 10 to 15mins but this Xmas on some days were over 6hrs. It was worse on new year day. I almost cried. I took off from the mall around 6 but I got home at iho few minutes to 12.

I have a video of driving around Owerri and also pictures and a video of Eastern Palm University.
same with me, but don’t have that time to post it on YouTube. It’s over an hour video. I covered all of new Owerri, world bank, Amakoiah/ Orlu road, egbeadan road, ikenegu/Aladinma, urrata, egbu, nekede/ihiagwa wethedral, old road, new market, and the whole of new Owerri. I intentionally took my time to drive round Owerri and it was worth it. If not for some places with bad roads

I counted over 20 new magnificent hotels under construction and smaller ones springing up in Owerri. Like it’s so crazy mehn. All Owerri needs now is good road and tourist attractions.

But what is Abia doing on that list.
Very dirty hmmm
lagos is more dirty than Accra or even Abuja, what is lagos doing in the list too.

Some of you untravelled afonja just sit under your brown roof and assume Nigeria start and ends in Lagos vis a vis southwest.

I can categorically tell you that south east and south south states are ahead and far developed and fast developing than the southwest.

https://www.nairaland.com/4899754/south-east-south-south-fastest

Back to the list, akwaibom should be thrown out of the list and replaced with Delta or Edo. Imo state is even far more developed than akwaibom

PoliticsRe: See Breakdown Of Registered Voters For Each State, Lagos Polls Highest by Ozibe: 2:16pm On Jan 08, 2019
From INEC number of registered voters, Lagos has the highest number of registered voters with 6.6million voters, followed by Kano with 5.5million voters.

NorthWest 20.2million

SouthWest 16.3million

NorthCentral 13.4million

SouthSouth 12.9million

NorthEast 11.3million

SouthEast Over 10million.

Going by the figures, if you subtract Lagos from the southwest, (16.3million - 6.6million)= 9.7million voters, which is far less than the over 10million of the southeast which is much more homogenous than the Southwest. The southwest has more non indigenes in Lagos and other southwestern states than any other region in Nigeria

If Atiku can secure the NE, SS,SE and NC with a 40% SW and 40%NW, Buhari is a goner.

Finally, the so called southwest vote is over rated, irrelevant and doesn’t count when taken into in-depth analysis. It only counts if we assume that the 16.6million voters from the southwest are all yorubas from the southwest and will all vote APC but in this case they are over 30- 40% non indigenes, and within the yorubas are also Anti APC voters.

Illiteracy is a menace in this country. When did Edo become an ethnic group. To the best of my knowledge Edo is a state in Nigeria and Edo state is a multiethnic state.

ChimaAgbalajob:
It doesn't! We should STOP applauding mediocre leadership in Igboland and Nigeria! Building roads just as every other governor does is not exactly sort of stuff i'd be clapping for. It is shocking that except Enugu, any typical Igbo city resembles Agadez or Sirte in Libya where there are no trees or vegetation cover along their roads. Yet, Igboland is in a rain-forest belt and not a desert! WHY??

Every other African city in the same belt takes advantage of the rain-forest belt to ensure the city has adequate vegetation cover and ambiance. If Rochas planted trees and completely changed the ambiance of the city, then his effort would undoubtedly be commendable.

Until we have folks who believe in transforming Nigeria from perpetually looking like a 3rd world dungeon into the standard seen in those foreign countries where they visit, i'm not impressed with mere tarring of streets.
No fault in ur opinion. My point was just to atleast appreciate the expansions. Up coming governors can take off from where he stopped. The expanded roads are like the structure of the house. They can be renovated and brought to modernity at anytime but the structure remains the same and can either be added to it or brought down completely to be rebuilt. You get my gist?
PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by Ozibe: 11:01pm On Dec 29, 2018
ChimaAgbalajob:
No wonder Abagworo didn't say anything about the trees because he knew they were fake plastics and not a real tree.

It often shocks me why we buy trees meant for desert cities where it would be impossible for plants to grow, instead planting the real things since we live in a rainforest environment.

These are some of the reason people think Rochas development projects are artificial, fake and low quality. Why import fake trees when grasses and trees can grow wildly even in the Bush in our environment?

What does it cost to plant a real tree?
Well it doesn’t take away the fact that the road has been expanded and it is worth commendation

I must commend Rochas for finally planting trees along the streets of Owerri.
Using standard street light and No longer all sorts of silly structures to illuminate the street.

Very nice!
Those trees are artificial. I passed that road and ellen sirleaf road today, and I must say I am impressed with the pace of development in Owerri especially real estate, supported by road expansion even though they are of low quality.

Owerri makes me feel like I am in lekki.
