I'm no English scholar, and I'm not a doctor but as a formal patient I believe we have better understanding and explanation of this diseases based on our experiences which I'd like to share.

I discovered I had Asthma when I was around 7 years old, I remember that first night it felt like having this funny itchy sensation in my chest, it later developed into tightness and congestion in my lungs, my airways was gradually closing up, such terrible experience; was rushed to the hospital I got introduced to sabutamol, theophylline, ephedrine etc. This very three combinations kept me alive for 25 years except for some emergency situation where injection (aminophylline) or Nebulizers spray (sabutamol sol. etc) was used to relax the muscles in my lungs, such a life saving therapy.

FIRST SUGGESTION
Avoid Ventolin Inhaler at early stages as much as you can.
I didn't use Ventolin inhalers for many years because of one fact and that is because i saw ppl dying besides this very inhalers and it gives me notions that such inhalers are probably the last option for a dying asthmatic patient so I avoided it little did I know I was doing my self a favour. I only used a mild inhaler called Foster spray because I couldn't get my combination in the country I later relocated to.
What I discovered about quick relief approach to Asthmatic attacks is that anything that act fast kills fast. The other medications I use don't act fast but they gradually perfect the healing process and I become perfectly ok in hours. I'm always patient for them to work and I'm always alert to make use of these drugs at the early stages of attack, because they actually don't work on extreme cases when the lungs is already at critical condition or nearly closing up in full and that's when Ventolin inhaler comes in mind but I rather use injection (aminophylline) or Nebules spray (sabultallmol). The advice is to always use alternative drugs at any early signs of symptoms, it's better than to constantly irritate your lungs with multiple quick action Ventolin spray substance all the time, doing that is very risky because a time will come when those pray will no longer work and when that happens what will you do? Sometimes your lungs even closes fast on any slight trigger because of dependance on those sprays. No doctor will tell you these.


SECOND SUGGESTION
Don't cough or cough only when necessary.
Most Asthmatic patient usually cough thinking it will get rid of the mucus in their lungs but it doesn't because your lungs are inflamed similar to what happens in your blocked nostrils when you try to force air through thinking it's a physical obstruction whereas it's just a swelling of the membranes walls that closes up airways to prevent further infection into the inner part of the nostrils, that's why when you use a spray like Otrivin it kills the bacteria almost instantly and the nostrils opens, but these fast approach always have side effects when used frequently and can cause growth (polyps) a permanent blockage in the nostrils that sometimes require operation to cut them off.

Now back to topic; Coughing exerts more pressure on your lungs that can cause damage with time, excessive coughing can irritate the lungs even more and cause more inflammation that can lead to full contraction of the lungs, instead decongest your lungs by forcing air through breathing out forcefully it will help extract any loosed mucus from inside; this will help you keep healthy lungs to fight the disease for long time, so pls don't cough until you start coughing out blood, you are doing more damage to your lungs. I remember how I intensely avoid coughing that tears sometimes come out of my eyes but it saved me.😂


THIRD SUGGESTION
Seek spiritual help, seek healing. I got healed from this disease 7 years ago I will post the story if anyone is interested.
