Abeg I no fit laugh grin

Read: "African Ladies Insist Men Must Pay For Meals On A Date"

"Unlike women in the UK, many young African women reject the idea of being an ‘independent woman’, but will accept the title only if the man will, as a duty, always pay the bill for a date whether or not there is an intent for a relationship.

Speaking to some Nigerian and Ghanian ladies at four UK universities in London and Essex, some ladies rejected the idea of splitting the bill or a lady paying for her own meal on a date with a guy, while other ladies feel its not culturally appropriate for a woman to pay for her meal on a date.

Joy Akubo, a Nigerian Student at Essex University, thinks it is cultural for a Nigerian man to pay a woman’s expense on a date, stating that “paying for the lady’s meal is a way of paying for her time”.

Gentlemen at some of these universities had some response. They argue “that black-British women, particularly Nigerians, like to cherry-pick the kind of equality they want, and will choose equality only when it suits them. They want equal pay, equal rights but don’t want to pay for their own food…”

It is not clear whether Nigerian ladies living in Nigeria also share similar views."

Oh boy I no fit laugh. Abeg read

"Norbes analysis takes a look at church businesses in Nigeria. The Church businesses we examined are Church ownership and investments in Universities, Auditoriums, Private Jets, Hotels, Real estates, Secondary Schools and Petroleum.

We obtained estimates from people familiar with the matter, and our analyses show that all Church businesses in Nigeria will loose about N235 billion if all tithe payers in the country stop paying tithes to help fund all church businesses and pastor’s welfare in the country.

Summary of results:

The total number of private jets owned by Nigerian pastors in the country is currently 16 at the time of this report and an estimated 50 million (total) is needed to maintain these private carriers annually to make them operational for ministry service.

Nigeria has about 5,595 churches (excluding churches in the villages unaccounted for)

There are 12 to 17 Nigerian Christian Universities, and these Universities collectively could lose an estimated N100bn in funding if these institutions do not receive funding from their founding church including tithes. Two Universities refused to be called a “christian university” though they were founded by a Christian leader, stating that they are a secular university.
Christian ministries own about 127 colleges in the South, East and West alone excluding the North and Abuja; and costs about 1.2billion to keep these colleges operational annually.

Hotels and real estates are part of the assets/investments owned by bigger churches and they derive income from these investments. The combined investments are worth a total of N5.4billion (after-tax)

Petroleum oil fields are owned by few individuals within the church establishment, not necessarily pastors.
It is not clear whether the N235billion are from tithes alone or partly from generous donations by the super-rich in the country but the report confirm that an 85% drop in tithing can bankrupt multiple church businesses within weeks especially Universities.

Also, the analysis show that the money received from church offerings were only sufficient to maintain the auditorium used for worship and to provide lighting to power church gadgets and equipment, and were insufficient to fund a pastor’s welfare or the church business.
