The Movement for Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Madu, has commended the Yoruba Libration Command (YOLICOM) in the South-West geopolitical zone of the country for the step it took on July 27, 2017, by declaring and displaying the Oduduwa Republic flag. National Director of Information of MASSOB, Mr. Edeson Samuel, in a statement, expressed full support of the group for YOLICOM’s aspiration. He said: “The YOLICOM declaration is in line with the quest by MASSOB for restoration of Biafra through non violence approach. This declaration is a welcome development. It is a sign that Nigeria can never stand again. Those agitating for restructuring can now see that no amount of restructuring will save Nigeria from disintegrating. “MASSOB will give every necessary support to YOLICOM and, also, promise to work with the group as a genuine freedom fighting organisation. The call by YOLICOM on United Nations for the dissolution of 1914 amalgamation is in order, because this political entity called Nigeria is owned and controlled by northerners, mostly the Hausa/Fulani.” MASSOB further called on the Middle Belt to “rise and defend its God given land and resources.” Source: BiafraSay Forum http://biafrasay.com/p/328957/massob-declare-support-for-yoruba-liberation-command |

Northern governors on Thursday cautioned those agitating for restructuring of the country and the protagonists of the Republic of Biafra against endangering the unity of Nigeria, saying that the nation might not survive under such divisive tendencies. According to Guardian Newspaper, the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum’s and Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima listed three current issues threatening the unity of the nation as the agitation for restructuring, creation of a Biafran State and the Fulani herdsmen’s attacks on communities. Shettima, who was represented by the Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari at the two-day meeting said organisations such as IPOB and MASSOB must be unconditionally condemned as they are inimical to national unity, stability, peaceful coexistence and national security. “These elements must be encouraged to pursue their agitations within processes enshrined in our constitution and with the full and willing participation of all parts of our nation.” The governor urged southern leaders to condemn the agitation the way northern leaders condemned the ultimatum given by some northern youths to Igbo residing in the north to leave by October 1. The governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, in an address, said: “We commend the resilience of our communities in the North-East which has begun the process of recovery from the ravages of insurgency. Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church worldwide has warned that any attempt by any group to Islamise the country or any drive of Islamic supremacy will lead to unending crises. The Bishop said this in his address titled The True Value of Education at the 12th convocation ceremony of the Covenant University owned by the Church in Otta, Ogun State. According to him, for Nigeria to have peace there must be justice while maintaining that for Fulani herdsmen to abandon their cattle and engage in gun shooting training, possess enough funds to purchase ammunitions, then something is wrong somewhere. “”I can’t imagine how herdsmen would abandon their cattle and go for training on how to use guns and other ammunitions they use to perpetuate their heinous crimes. The forces behind this wanton destruction shall be exposed, Nigeria will not know war again and the land will stop drinking blood”, he said. The Chancellor of the Covenant University stressed that the true value of education is in creating solution adding that no value in any education that does not add value to humanity and leave the world a better place. “We are cumbered with economic challenges, poor educational infrastructure, unemployment, the only way to tackle these is to possess the contributors’ mentality and add value to humanity”, he said. The keynote address speaker, Ms Cecilia Akintomide, former Vice President and Secretary General, African Development Bank spoke on Leadership by Products: The Role of Universities. She charged universities to produce graduates, generate knowledge through research and disseminate knowledge all for the ultimate objective of improving lives. The keynote speaker charged the graduating students to impact their society, see challenges confronting the country as huge opportunities and never to accept mediocrity. “I urge Nigerian universities to engage in research for the purpose of speeding up the pace of development by exploring collaborations and partnerships with institutions and private sector because research is another product that defines a university’s leadership status”, she said. A group, Prisoners Against Injustice in Nigeria (PAIN) has claimed responsibility for the fire that gutted Kuje Medium Security Prison hospital on Friday. According to sources, the group made this known through a handwritten statement posted on the prison notice board before it was hurriedly removed by the prison authorities. PAIN said the attack was meant to draw the attention of the world to the pathetic state of prisons and corruption within prison services. “Corrupt politicians who have looted the treasury only spend a few days in prison and are given special treatment while the poor man who stole a mobile phone is awaiting trial for years without bail. “While corrupt judges have never stepped their foot into the cells as inmates, their trials are speedy and they have not been made to face the same fate they have subjected so many others too,” the group had stated. Lagos-based prophet and General Overseer of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has revealed through prophecy that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will not actualize Biafra. The prophet, who also said God revealed to him Biafra may be achieved in the nearest future, added that Nnamdi Kanu’s life was at risk because of the way he talks. According to the Cleric who spoke with Sun, the IPOB leader had already taken some steps that will fail him. According to him, “Nnamdi Kanu’s life is at risk especially because of the way he talks, his misuse of words. “Forget about all he is doing, let him continue to pray to the dead souls. “Kanu will not lead Biafra. Biafra vision may be actualized in the nearest future, he will not lead the Igbo to actualize the vision. “He is taking some wrong steps that will fail him to actualize his dream as a leader of Biafra. “Then the Igbo should not expect the Presidency in 2019. Their time has not come. “I am talking as a prophet not as a politician. Kanu is still going to face a lot of challenges and if he is not careful enough, he may miss it. “He must be careful so that he doesn’t lose his life in the cause of this struggle. He needs to be extremely careful and watchful.” Source: BiafraSay Forum http://biafrasay.com/p/327834/nnamdi-kanu-may-die-in-struggle-he-ll-not-actualize-biafra-p

Nnewi – The Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra.MASSOB, has described the call by Northern youths for the United National to list Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB as a terrorist group as one made by confused and directionless people who are bereft of the meaning of terrorist and what constitutes terrorism. MASSOB in a statement by its National Director of Information, Comrade Edeson Samuel said the Norther youths are limited by their lack of education and therefore should not be blamed for not knowing the difference between terrorist, terrorism and self determination. MASSOB under the leadership of Mazi Uchenna Madu has condemned the utterances from Arewa youths against IPOB.These Northern youths who want United National to list IPOB as a terrorist group are confused and directionless group who do not know the meaning of terrorist and what constitutes terrorism. “MASSOB will not blame them because they are limited by lack of education as most of them are illiterates, uneducated and charlatans who did not know the difference between terrorism and self determination. “The Northern elites are using them to cause trouble because they are desperate to control Nigeria by all means by using Northern youths to intimidate Nigerians when they feel their hold on to power is threatened, and these Northern group forgot that they have ruled Nigeria for 20years from 1979 to 1999, there was no complain from the Southern part of Nigeria.” According to MASSOB, “the Northerners are to be blame for crisis Nigeria, their believe in “born to rule has failed them, that is why they are shouting and complaining creating confusion in the society.” The Northern youth should have first of tell United Nations to declare Fulani herdsmen who went about killing and raping women and destroying people farm land as terrorists, these Northern youths are so blind that they cannot see the havoc the brothers are doing communities in the name of herdsmen. The Arewa youths who ordered Ndigbo to vacate their land with threat should have been declared as terrorist before asking for IPOB to be declared as terrorist group, they are the one that killed Ndigbo and Biafrans from 1953 till date and have not been listed as terrorist. “They want United Nation to label IPOB a terrorist organization because they are seeking like other Biafra agitating groups for self determination, when they use Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen to kill and maim people and yet they have not been declared terrorists region. United Nations is made up of enlightened and educated people, they cannot respond to such laughable and unrealistic call because they know the meaning of what IPOB, MASSOB and other Biafra agitating groups are doing. The United Nations are made up of professional leaned, educated gentle men that cannot be pushed by sentiments of these ignorant Northern youths and politicians backing them, who are desperate to hold unto power. “MASSOB is therefore warning Arewa elders and their youths to mind their utterances because Ndigbo and Biafrans cannot be intimidated by their antics of the people who have continued the set Nigeria back and yet they want to hold on to power by all means.” Source: BiafraSay Forum http://biafrasay.com/p/327727/northern-youths-confused-directionless-massob |

More than one month after issuing a quit notice to Igbo, to leave the North by October 1, 2017, Arewa youths, under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Groups, have, again, called on the United Nations (UN) to initiate processes for peaceful referendum. The groups said that is the only option to finally settle the Biafran issue. In a July 12, 2017, letter addressed to the UN, the groups said since the end of the Civil War, Igbo youths have intermittently continued to demand an independent country. They claimed that Igbo are reopening old wounds, and said the Kaduna Declaration was not a call to violence, but, a precaution. Speaking on behalf of the coalition, its coordinator, Shettima Yerima, said: “Not withstanding efforts by Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo and responsible regional leaders, Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), remains undaunted. “Their continued action is a clear signal that they are committed to breaking away from the Nigerian Federation which buttresses our earlier concerns. “Since it is becoming all the more obvious by the way IPOB and Kanu enjoy massive support from the Igbo back home, that the issue of the drive for Biafra nation is still a boiling one, we urge the UN to intervene by initiating processes for a peaceful referendum as the only option to finally settle the Biafran issue.” Arewa youths, had in June, issued an ultimatum to Igbo to vacate the North within three months. The call has generated mixed reactions from Nigerians. Kaduna State Governor, Malla Nasir El-Rufai,after the declaration, asked security agents to arrest faces behind the declaration. Security agents are yet to arrest the youths, as directed by El-Rufai. Osinbajo has also held series of meetings with regional leaders, as part of moves to douse ethnic tensions. Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has in a recent interview at his residence in Umuahia, capital of Abia State insisted that there is no going back on his order on boycott of Anambra gubernatorial election and subsequent elections in Nigeria if the federal government fails to concede to the demand for a date for referendum. Kanu, when asked if IPOB receives any kind of support from politicians, said “We have IPOB families scattered in over one hundred countries of the world, they are the ones that fund the struggle”. Responding to the question of Who Nnamdi Kanu is, the IPOB leader described himself as simple, unassuming and humble personality, but did not also fail to note that he can also turn into a raging inferno when anyone tries to come against Biafra. “You never told anybody how old you are”, the journalist says to Kanu as he expected to receive a definite answer. “It’s for my memory”, Kanu smartly said in a swift response. Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon has said that he created states many years ago to douse the fears of the country’s breakup and fears by the minority ethnic groups in the country who feared that the majority ones would dominate them. General Gowon who was accompanied by his wife, Victoria, stated this in Yenagoa while commissioning the newly built Bayelsa State Government House, saying it is an iconic edifice. Gowon who was given a traditional chieftaincy title, (Se Ebi Daubi) or ‘The Benevolent Father of the Nation’ by the Traditional Rulers’ Council of Bayelsa state was equally given a rousing welcome by Bayelsans who thronged the Government House for the colourful ceremony. The ex-Head of state who lauded the Bayelsa state Governor, Seriake Dickson, on his developmental strides in the state also tasked other governors to ensure that projects left uncompleted by their predecessors are taken to completion. He expressed immense delight at the developments which Governor Dickson has brought to Bayelsa saying, “from what I have heard, you did not abandon anything that your predecessors had done. But you built and improved on them and this is really to your credit. I am sure that there will be no abandoned project. He said, “ I was not expecting the kind of welcome I received here today. I have never been welcomed like this in all the traditional communities I have been to.” After thanking the people of Bayelsa state led by Governor Dickson and the Traditional Rulers Council, General Gowon said, “I was delighted to create those states…years ago. At that time, the political situation was very difficult.” “ There was fears of the country breaking up, fears of domination of the minority…and the question was, what were we going to do in order to remove this fear causing problems in Nigeria…?” “Fears of being dominated by majority ethnic groups? The creation of states was to solve these fears…” Gowon said he received massive supports from all the traditional leaders of the country and other big guns to create the states. Also, while commissioning the government house, Gowon said, “My joy knows no bounds. I am very much at home whenever I visit this state.” Urging all state governments to support the Federal government to make it succeed, Gowon also enjoined Governor Dickson saying, “Your Excellency, you have done exceptionally well. I have always known you for your love and commitment to Nigeria. I want to see you continue your love and commitment to Nigeria.” On those calling for breakup General Gowon, while harping on the country’s unity said urged especially the youths agitating for the country’s breakup to jettison the idea. He said while the youths have to listen to their elders, the leaders too have the responsibility of providing the educational enablement as well as give them a listening ears and carry the youths along towards national development. He said if the energy and exuberance of the youths are harnessed and combined with the wisdom of the elders, Nigeria will be better off. Earlier, the former head of state had earlier commissioned the secretariat of the Bayelsa Traditional Rulers Council and was received by the Chairman of the council, King of Twon Brass, King Alfred Diette-Spiff, who incidentally was the first military administrator of old Rivers State which was carved out of the then Eastern Region by his administration in 1967. In his remarks at the commissioning of the new Governor’s Office, Ijaw National Leader, Chief Edwin Clark, said Nigeria’ns had always wanted true federalism where every Nigerian is equal whether from the minority or the majority groups. He said the country opted for federalism after the independence but tha the military interrupted it. “We all agreed that we wanted a federation. And that is what we have today but unfortunately, coups after coups changed the whole concept we back into having a unitary form of government in a uniform of federation. “So what do we do? It is never too late. Let us restructure this country so that everybody will have a belonging. Whether you are a majority or minority, we are all equal Nigeria. “So when people talk of good rulers in this country, the humble son of Nigeria in the person of General Yakubu Gowon had again contributed more than any one else. He can go from place to place, he is not arrogant. “He is a humble man with good family background. Okay am happy today that my son, the executive governor of Bayelsa State has thought it wise to bring my former boss”. Lauding Governor Dickson, Chief Clarke said, “I know that this building will generate good governance. I know this building will bring peace and stability in the country. There is no second class citizen in this country. There is no first class citizen in this country. We are all equal”, he said. Also speaking, King Diette-Spiff described Gowon as the benevolent father of the nation adding that the former head of state was the architect of state creation. He said the people of the state would mark the inauguration of the project and the presence of the Gowon as the part of the achievements of the state governor. Earlier, Governor Dickson had highlighted the qualities of the former head of state describing him as the father of the nation. “I would like on behalf of the government and people of the state to welcome our leader and father, General Yakubu Gowon and when he landed, and we saw him, we all thought of our primary school days when all of us used to line up waving the green, white green and singing so many songs. “But in the end, we also remember the saying, “to keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done” and the other one said “go on with one Nigeria”. He is the father of Nigeria who led a team of very dedicated leaders. “We thank you for what you and your colleagues did to give us one Nigeria. Nigeria is not perfect. No nation is perfect. Nation-building is a work in progress”. On the office complex, he said: “I want to enjoin all of you to pray that this office should be a place where governor’s after me and others will work in peace to lead our stage aright with the fear of God and always in service of our people. “When we took over, you are all aware that we have been working for the last five years to lay a solid foundation, building on what we saw in ground and introducing more and more things to ensure that our state gets to its desired destination. Today, we are here to commission a befitting office that will serve our state for a long time to come”. Governor Dickson also said that, for the past five years, his development had been a more quiet evolution, not making noise. He therefore declared that, “This is the unveiling of the new Bayelsa to the world…We will make Bayelsa state a centre of investment, agriculture and other developments.” Some of the developmental strides of Governor Dickson in the state are the on-going construction of the Bayelsa International Airport with an already completed 3.4km runway, the longest in the country; the Restoration Flyover at Berger Junction to connect Azikoro Village, making them enjoy the dividends of democracy; and the building of a one-stop mega shop, the Transparency Building, to boost economic activities and create massive employment in the state. Others are the over 3000 seater Oxbow Lake with an aquatic view that gives one that natural touch and feel of recreation, the Bayelsa Diagnostic Centre with state of the art medical facilities to give professional care to especially mother and child, the aged and indeed, every Bayelsan at a government’s subsidised rates. The Diagnostic centre is equipped with Latest X-Ray, mamography machines which are, perhaps, the only ones in the country for carrying out scans and body parts’ examinations even in a very microscopic nature. The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed never to associate with “yoruba people”, or any the corrupt leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. He also vowed never to associate with past or present Governors of Nigeria, urging his followers to kill him, if he breaks this oath. In his words, he said: “There is a question in the minds of many people as well. How are we going to be sure that Nnamdi Kanu and the Editorial Board of Radio Biafra, the Executive Council of the Indigenous People of Biafra, will not derail in this struggle.” “The reason why we will not derail, is because you will not let us derail.” “I have said this before and I will keep saying it every blessed day; any day I come back and tell you that you can go and hug Yoruba People and love them; any day I come back and say to you, that you can befriend Rochas Okorocha, Orji Uzor Kalu, any of these Governors, or any member of the corrupt leadership of Ohaneze, that same day, I please urge you to kill me, because I am no longer worthy to exist.” Source: BiafraSay Forum http://biafrasay.com/p/327500/i-would-rather-hang-myself-to-death-than-trust-a-foolish-yor

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said the coming together of South East and South South governors will lead to the defeat of the alleged Hausa/ Fulani intimidation and political terrorism. IPOB made the remark while commending the governors for over their meeting which held in Enugu. The group noted that the meeting of the governors of the “old Eastern Region is vindication of the stance of togetherness of all ethnic nationalities that make up Biafra.” In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group said the need for both South-East and South-South leaders to respond to intimidation from the North is what its leader, Nnamdi Kanu has being clamouring for. The statement reads, “We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it’s leadership worldwide under the command and leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to congratulate the governors of South East and South South for summoning the courage to sit together as one family for the first time in nearly 50 years. “The choice of Enugu as the venue for this inaugural meeting is not only historically significant but also commendable because all governors of the Hausa Fulani controlled Arewa geo-political zones meet in Kaduna to strategise on a regular basis, being that Kaduna remains to this day, the capital of the old Northern Region. “This South East and South South Governors Meeting, is a clear demonstration that political office holders are beginning to respond appropriately to the age long divide and conquer strategies of the North, which is responsible for the absence of strategic regional planning across states in the old Eastern region. “For making this bold move, which we gather was vehemently opposed by the born to rule Hausa Fulani core North, they have individually and collectively earned the respect of IPOB in this specific regard. We pray and hope they continue this process of strengthening and deepening the ancient brotherhood and relationships which sustained us as independent nations bound together by common culture and value systems for over 5000 years before the divisive tendencies of British colonialism destroyed it. “Thanks be to the Most High Creator for granting these governors the wisdom to begin the process of uprooting the seeds of discord planted in the minds of the people of the former Eastern Region; to recognise their common enemy and work diligently towards harmonising the needs and concerns of the people of Biafra with the view to finding a lasting solution to the misery and hopelessness of the masses. “We also thank the Most High who bestowed the spirit of bringing our people together on our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB family worldwide. This governors meeting of the old Eastern Region is vindication of the stance of togetherness of all ethnic nationalities that make up Biafra. ONURU UBE NWANNE AGBALA OSO which means don’t run when you hear the cry of your brother is now fully at work and we wholeheartedly welcome it. Together as one block, South East and South South can stand up and defeat the Hausa Fulani intimidation and political terrorism. “This is what our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been preaching since the inception of this ordained and noble quest for the restoration of Biafra. For the first time since 50 years of the former Eastern Region governors and politicians including Mid Western governors and her politicians come together to discuss the economic well being and cooperation within the regions. Only an evil person will be against this gathering. “This effort by the governors proves that IPOB is a divine movement and eye opener to every ethnic group in this amorphous expression named Nigeria by British in 1914. If the governors and politicians in South South and South East including Mid Western governors and their politicians could come together to discuss about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Biafra restoration in Enugu where the former president of Biafra Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Chief Philip Effiong, Chief Frank Opigo, Elders and other members of Eastern Conservative Assembly stayed and deliberated together during the horrific period of our history to declare Biafra, then who is Arewa to divide us again.” Source: BiafraSay Forum http://biafrasay.com/p/327463/biafra-we-will-defeat-hausa-fulani-intimidation-political-te
