What is selective about this thread? Is nepotism not the order of the day in Nigeria? Look at Abuja for example, how many southerners were appointed substansive ministers of Abuja? None. Yet we have northerners heading NPA, Customs, NNPC. Is there a law in the constitution baning an Obi or Afolabi from heading the ministry of the federal capital territory?

Your claim about Igbo dominance in the national team is null and void because admittance into the national team is base on merit, not quota system. Sporting activities are strictly based on talent and merit, thus not on the same padestral with politics and govt administration.
The question you should be asking is; is Federal character same with quota system? Federal character is the equitable distribution of govt appointments and positions among ethnic groups in a country to prevent unfair domination. This system is good for multi ethnic countries to prevent one tribe dominating govt positions at the expense of others. Quota system on the other hand is the mass distribution of govt slots and positions to particular set of people whether they are qualified for it or not. Now if govt distributes certain positions to a particular region, it is up to the govt to make sure that those to be appointed are qualified, otherwise it will be just another case of quota system. A situation we have seen too many times in this country.

Even NPA and Customs is headed by a northerners. When was the last time you saw a southerner heading customs for example? Same situation exist in EFCC. Who is the bigger fool here? Is this charade an illustration of ONE NIGERIA?

Go to federal civil serveice, you will be shocked at what you will find there, not to mention one-sided recruitments and domination by a particular region in the country in agencies like the DSS and military.

Those are part of the issues the current clamour for restructuring hope to correct.

With injustice and nepotism the order of the day, do you thing northerners will allow any form of restructuring knowing fully well that they benefit hugely from the injustice? Not to mention the imbalance in the number of states between north and south that gives them advantage in the senate and house of reps thanks to military regime? If you are waiting for restructuring then be prepared to wait for eternity.

Hypocrisy is when you scold we IPOB for wanting a country of own, but turn blind, deaf and dumb to glaring nepotism being practiced in Nigeria as illustrated above.
