The average Nigerian is as driven to excel in life as the average American, but he is unable to because unlike in America, his government doesn't provide him with the basic infrastructure he needs. He has little to no electricity, a very poor integrated public transport system, insecurity and hyper inflation, but in spite of all these hurdles, he's trying his best.

You couldn't handle any of these challenges and you ran away to clean toilets because that is the height of your intellectual ability.
