Foreign Affairs / Kusi Boafo, Once Ghana's Head Of Public Sector Reforms Wrote This About Rwanda by Pallazzo: 7:30am On Oct 29, 2023
smileyMr Kusi Boafo, once Ghana's head of Public Sector Reforms returned from a weeks visit to Rwanda and wrote thus:

"The only thing we have than Rwanda is our politicians drive luxurious cars than theirs. From what I saw, Ghana is an embarrassment of a country and a total abomination to the creator"

"If we don't stop worshipping politicians and playing foolish NPP vs NDC politics, we will suffer in future. I admit that I as a Public sector boss from Ghana, I drive a better car than their finance minister. They've more ambulances than we have. Ambulances even placed in farms"

"There's so much serenity in the country. I saw a Methodist Church in a village shut down because the building looked weak. Church was told to put it in good shape before they can get permit to reopen. They dont want to wait for it to collapse before they blame God"- Kusi Boafo

"A minister told me that in 2008, Kagame gave loans to equal number of men & women to do business. They'd account after 5yrs & the women had increased their profit in folds but most of the men didnt survive. This explains why women receive 10% higher salaries in Rwanda than men"

"We toured the country. Saw lot of big plantations like coffee, tea and others. To my amazement, there were ambulances following farmers to the plantations in case there's an injury. These small villages had hospitals with very young efficient working medics. I was in awe"

Was stunned to learn that their minister of Public Sector Reforms schooled at the Univ of Ghana Biz Sch. A lot of them actually school in Ghana. Their free Education ends at the Junior High School Level. The Sec Schools are only subsidized"

"I was there with a 7 member delegation. We stepped out to find food. In fact there was no seller on the streets and everything was in order. With the equivalence of 40cedis, I fed all the 7 people. Rent is so controlled and accommodation is easy. I realized Ghana is in crisis".

"Police were not stopping us unnecessarily on our way so I asked the driver and he told me all vehicles are equipped with chips from the Vehicle Licensing. Once your road worthy and license are valid, you just swipe them every morning. If it expires, the police are aware".

"I think Ghana really needs a national orientation and complete reformation. We have to be truthful to ourselves we have lost track and direction. We have so much advantage over Rwanda but truth be told they are doing way way better than us. We have to stop blaming witches"

then why is every company using his photos??

Many companies ate using his photos in Africa especially Nigeria because his photos resonates with our offerings. He likely understands our market and then dishes out sharp stock photos that aligns with it.

No connections. He's into stock photoshot. Most of these pictures are free on stock photo websites like pixabay, some of them may be paid (little amount) on istock but trust Nigerians, we hardly pay for these items which we can get for free.

Thanks for being of help so far. My last question.

Pls where or how can one genuinely learn it? To be a master In the art?

And which do you think is better between learning on YouTube or site and finding a mentor?

Learning from site and YouTube are both Important. Start with hubspot academy, they have free content writing course. Check learn with Google, learn their digital marketing as it covers content writing techniques too.

Find free ebooks online, you can also search for free courses on udemy and discudemy all in dot com.

The No.1 problem of most nigerians is Financial Issue. Get this into your skull.

If we are honest to ourselves, we will find out that we are the ones limiting ourselves. The OP gets money from time to time to visit the wh⁰rehouse, how about using that money to buy data, download a course on a digital skill, take time to learn it, and start making money for himself. I'm a living proof on this method.

SyrusdeHansome:

U replied him well. That's what i always ask myself each time i hear them motivational speakers hammering on the need for youths to go nd acquire skills. U don give dem money nd de no go?

Acquiring skills these days require little or no money. MTN, GLO, and other occasionally gives out free data. The money the op is using to visit wh⁰rehouse is enough to buy data to learn digital marketing, copywriting, or any other digital skill courses online. Many of these videos are there on YouTube.

Even if he don't have a laptop, he can start with his phone. I learned Web design with java phone and 60 leaves, and when I got a laptop at a giveaway price, things became easier.

You don't start preparing when you get a job, you prepare for the job ahead.

I've not been to Liberia but lived in the Gambia. Gambia is decent and relatively peaceful. Business moves there, but dangan dangan (small small). Teaching jobs pays on an average of 50k/month, but then, you can extra with house lessons up to 200k/month. It all depends on grace, hard work, and luck.

As for Liberia, I've no info about them.

With the experience you have already in that country, Like what type of business do you advice someone to go into

For importation, import from Nigeria. Bitter kola, Long women dress, Bottle Stout, all these herbal drinks like Alomo and the types. Then export back home dried fish.

For retailing, Cheap second clothes, shoes, bags, Nigerian food, car parts esp Mercedes as they use it for their taxi, motorcycle/bicycle parts.

AlphaTaikun:

Hi there!

Insights.

Are you into Travels and Tours business in the Gambia?

How is the global inflation affecting the economy of Gambia right now?

I'm sure you know that Ghana is also going through economic headwinds right now and they have many natural resources unlike Gambia.

All the best.

Yes, I'm into Travel and Tours in The Gambia.

The global economy affected almost all countries but not that bad in The Gambia like in Ghana. We had inflation but didn't hit bad. Thanks for dropping by.

Op, tell us about the women grin
grin Their women are mostly black with hourglass shape... But not as neat as Nigerian girls. They have classic girls though, but the locals are more. You have to be careful with their women by the way, especially those 22yrs and below. It can be turned as rape or child abuse, one have to spend over half a million to pull out from that or spend many years in jail.

@op, can I as a Nigerian operate a bus transport business?

Not any more. Nigerians were allowed before but later got banned. Only Gambians are now allowed. I'm sure Senegalese also operate, because both of them are almost same.

JoeLohic:
How is transportation business over there?
Like Tricycles (Keke) brand of transportation... Do you think one can easily go into it there?

Meanwhile, the 90k room, does it include toilet/bathroom and where to cook?

No. Nigerians are not allowed to go into transport in The Gambia.

The rooms will contain bathroom and toilet and kitchen.
