olaremy2k: I want to update my documents in the embassy, submitted application 2wks ago,i need advice...which is better?...should i submit in person or via courier?....which day of the week is submission in person allowed....pls,i need advice
This is like d 4th time u are asking this.. Now I wanna ask, does d embassy know u are sending some more docs? If no, buddy, forget it until u are asked to...
Moreover, this shouldn't even give u headache, since u submitted via VAC, why don't u call and ask them if u could update ur application?
Even if u wanna send to d embassy directly, u don't have ur unique serial number that starts with "S" and I wonder how they are gonna identify ur file.
Anyways, I hope someone else throw more light on here cuz I knw that its always better to let CDHC ask for more docs. Cheers

What kind of doc do i have to prove the relationship apart from pictures.
Bros. To be honest with u, I can't really say appropriate documents u could submit to prove that ur dad's cousin is willing to sponsor u.
If u are left with no other choice and if ur ties to ur home country is strong enought to convince them that u would return, I would suggest u pay ur full tuition and ur dad's cousin transfer and extra 10K dools into ur account for maintenance and then ur parents show some few funds probably for ur transportation fares.
Then ur dadk's cousin can write a letter that he is d one in charge of ur expenses and he is actually d one that paid ur tuition and d 10K in ur account.
But mind u, its has to be a PGD or a masters degree program before this scheme can work. And secondly, u need to be sure ur school has a refund policy before u can pay ur tuition.
Its alnoy a suggestion bro and its meaningful. Cheers.

moty4all: @palliative diff surname.

No docs available just that he is ready to sponsor me.

What abt the Family Tree
Fine, he is ready to sponsor u but that's not d problem, I can believe that ur dad's cousin is willing to sponsor u but CDHC would not believe that without appropriate documentation.
To cut d long story short, I did d same thing u are about to do... I used my dad's friend as ma dad's cousin and drew a family tree and a court affidavit to that effect.
All other docs I produced were very strong and genuine except for d sponsorship...
I was subsequently denied for the following reasons.
1. Insufficient proof of relationship with sponsor.
2. Relationship to sponsor is not sufficient to allow funding. Meaning that, only ur closest relations can be willing to spend millions on ur head.
So bruv, I am reapplying and my parents are sponsoring me. They do not really have to have all d 20 to 30 million as I earlier thought. Just ur tuition, extra 10K dolls and s few extra balance for ur siblings upkeep.
Just be wise bro. Its usually hard convincing them when it comes to monetary issues.
Cheers.

Congrats bro. So all the CAC cert, tax clearance stuff were unnecessary? Just d pictures covered everything.
And uhmm, was it mandated by ur school for u to pay ur tuition or u did it by ur own intuition?
Are u going for a post graduate or undergraduate studies?

caryoday: @palliative, @newacca, @ all

can someone pls educate me on this tax clearance certificate of a tin, am working on one @ zenith bank which dy said its going to take three weeks. i did the minimal which goes for 4,650 naira per annum. To my surprise, a friend told me that a guy at the tax office told him that if am to use it at the embassy, i ve to go for 57,250 naira per annum and above. pls guys, how true is this? i ll be waiting for ur reply.....
bro. He is right. D amount of tax u pay has to correspond with d amount u earn per annum.
I am working on mine too , infact, thinking of inflating it sef. Ur sponsor cannot produce a bank statement running in millions and then a tax clearance certificate worth 4K sumfin per annum..
If they unfortunately deny, they say this "discrepancies in sponsor information"

Noswaa: @bamshy,thanks for your wonderful suggestions always,i have second class lower which it seems most schools in canada prefers second class upper and above for masters,so i decide to go for undergraduate in a related field, and i strongly believed that it is not a suspect for some body to have more than one bachelor degree which i knew one of my lecturers have about 3,and am going on transfer credit not starting from year one,and about the gain my husband friend may gain, does it mean some body cannot help one another without gaining for the benefit of humanity and God,and what of if i now take this my husband friend as my employer to sponsor me so that his company will benefit from my wealth of experience relating to economic matters of his business, again he have upgraded my account to a million naira and he will send some document to stand as my co sponsor, what do you think?thank you
It would have made more sense if ur husband did the sponsoring no matter how much he got in his account. At least, his friend could help in window dressing his account to make it fat..
In a situation where that seems impossible, canadian embassy doesn't give a damn about humanity and for d sake of God when it involves their visa and money issues. Even a distance cousin cannot sponsor u according to them sef let alone a family friend.
I would suggest u tag him as ur employer but when u do that, u still need to show evidence of employment with employment letter and payslip for d past 3 months.
The summary of d matter is that, "ur relationship with ur sponsor must be sufficient enough to allow funding". This was d basis for my denial d last time. So, its either ur parents, bor or sis, spouse or direct uncle and employer can sponsor u effectively.
As regards multiple degrees, its possible although it depends if u have had a B.sc, BA or so. U can even have 2 B.sc if d school supports that.
I have a friend who got a visa for an undergraduate studies at 27 years and as a transfer student as long as ur previous degree doesn't deviate from ur anticipated degree.
Cheers

olaremy2k: ......pls someone should answe my question
When I was running things wif CDHC, they hadn't started with d VAC stuff. But surely bro, if u submitted a courier envelope in ur 1st submission, a 2nd one is absolutely unecessary.
And supporting docs ought to go thru d same VAC oooo. So u don't loose ur doc and u gottta quote ur serial number to them (if u have been given urs).
Normally, they don't advise us to bring in supporting docs after submission until they request for it but if its very important, u can try but make sure u quote ur file number.

I guess I'll continue with my former docs though I did it of recent but my e-passport is in my former name,bt if my dad's statemnt of acct is in reflecting d new name,my admissn letter bearing my new name and my certificates bearing my former surname, then there shouldnt be any problem bt am only thinking abt d passport bearn my former name if its not going affect my application, though i have my affidavits and my family is aware of the change of name...

Paddy. Ur university haven't been replying ur mails probably because of the stunt u have played in ur application at their office to send u an acceptance letter with ur new "assumed" surname.
How do u even think they would do a thing like that when ur certificates u used in seeking for and admission are all in ur former name? Do u think they might listen to ur story? Cuz obviously that's what u might have done. Ur waec is in ur surname and u applied with it asking the school to send u a letter that u have changed ur surname. Wow
I am not a VO but like I said, this sceme of urs is tarnishing ur image.. 2ndly, u changed ur surname of recent and ur dad's bank have taken to new surname immediately? When ur "assumed" dad submits his CAC and other company documents and they all bear d new surname, how do u explain that.?
Now lemme tell u d truth bros. Me I be guy man too but need to spit d truth. I knw say u be hustler, u just wanna migrate. But I knw hustlers to be smart. This ur move is lame. U didn't plan it well.
This man u wanna claim to be ur popcy, u rather use him as an uncle "mother's brother". This ur dad scam is dirty and childish. Nobody, not even me let alone d almighty canadian embassy to believe ur story.
U may not even get ur admission letter with d new surname bro. Stop messing ur record up. The school can even report u to d embassy to trail u sef and arrest u for fraud if u don't knw.
This is d last time I would write on dis ur issue. It is simply lame. Get a new scheme and in whatever u do, don't do anything that would destroy ur record in canada.
I don talk finish. Nor say I knw tell u. Bye.

"2. As par the change of name issue,I stated on my affidavit that that my former surname's my granny's and my new name is my father's n I'll like to bear my father's name". Oga, this particular text on ur affidavit is laughable, its like a comedy. Wow. So u expect CDHC of all people to buy this ur story as genuine? Have u ever seen their denial stereotype? One says * we are not convinced that you have been truthful in the information you have provided and hence diminishing the credibility of your application..
No vex ooo. Which village does someone answer his granny's name as surname? And since then, the witch u claim to be haunting u was not disturbing until now that u wanna visit canada..
My guy, those guys know us well oo, there is nothing our 9ja guys haven't done. Yes I knw u wana go run things in canada and I advise u as my man to look for another means cuz to me, thos one is dumb. Na wah for you.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by palliative: 2:42pm On Mar 27, 2012
Okay danyl...
If this is d reason, its okay but d problem should be convincing d VO. If u changed surname, ur docs would surely be in ur former documents and apparently, ur dad's surname has to change too (except u alone changed ur own without d consent of ur family) and hence, his bank statement and all other supporting documents are going to bear d former surname...
But if u alone change ur surname and ur dad didn't, my brother, CDHC doesn't like anything confusing them.. They like straightforward things. I am talking from experience.
Trust me bro. Depends on when u changed this name. Cuz if its of recent, all documents don't have to bear d new surname now.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by palliative: 1:00pm On Mar 27, 2012
@ Danyl. Please, no vex... I aint trying to discourage u but to be honest, I am 90% sure that this your change of surname stuff got something to do with visa application.
My dear, if u were a lady and she gets married and hence wanna change surname, its very normal but u are a guy man and why d surname change? What's CONFIDENTIAL about it? Infact, u are gonna pose a securoty risk to canada if I am d VO. Changing of surname is done by thieves (not saying u are one).
If u wanna sort for a sponsor, I suggest you come up with something straightforward cuz trust me, CDHC officials aint as stupid as most of us think.
Use ur uncle coupled with any amount ur real and not "assumed" dad has in his own account. Pray to Gpd to see u through my dear. It is well.

@ all. Please, I got an important question, Abeg, do banks divulge account balance of bank statements submitted by an applicant to d embassy? Do u knw it they are in such agreements to exchange such information?
And pls, what do they really verify when it comes to bank statements? What do they ask then banks when they contact them.
Thanks

Yes. I congratulated him too. Maybe I mention his name "bashtee",
Uhmm. Mr newacca et al, pls, when one is sponsored by both parents (mom and dad). Are both parents required to swear individual affidavit of support? That's if they both run different business.
Thanks

J20, your question is very nice. You would need an agent bro. Wether registerd or not. Just to put u through d rudiments on d requirments to study in canada,
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by palliative: 8:38am On Feb 23, 2012
Yea. I got u bruv. What I am saying is, the type of information u require doesn't even need emailing them. Its obtainable just from "googling". I got this

http://www.mun.ca/become/graduate/programs/employment.php.

From that link, u see that february 15th is d last date to apply for fall session while august 15th is d last date to apply for part time winter session(jan 2013),
U need not email them. Since u use an internet connected device to surf nairaland, u can as well, surf memorial university's website and get loads of information u would need as a prospective student. Thanks.

Good question, What course would u wanna lecture in memorial uni? U can email them asking them to employ u sha. About their tuition, ask google or u could still email them,
As regards applying for fall term, yes u can apply if u can afford it but if money nor deyy, just pray,
bless u
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by palliative: 9:16am On Feb 20, 2012
Bro, I used a cousin and only drew a family tree cuz there was no document to really prove that we are related. Hence, was denied cuz of insifficient ptoof of relationship to sponsor. That's why I am going to use my parents this time. So bro, if u are being sponsored by ur step dad, its a good thing but the important thing is convincing cdhc that he is actually ur step dad. Pictures are okay but not enough. As ur step dad, u guys might not have d same sur names, hence, providing his personal identity cards might also not be enough. Your best bet is to provide evidence of court marriage or pics from a marriage plus his I'd cards to really show he has married ur mom. Without that, I wonder how u could prove he is ur step dad.
D point is dat, u can't just wake up and say he is ur step dad (with different sur names).
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by palliative: 10:45pm On Feb 19, 2012
Thank u mr newacca. And to you too mt Bashtee. We shall celebrate ur victory soon because u really deserve it. Bless you bruvs.
Yes, my school's refund policy says I would be refunded only if one scans his denial letter should he be denied visa.
And they don't need tuition deposit to keep ur admission space neigher do they reject ur money if u choose to make a deposit.
Thanks once again. U just relieved me. Take care and goodluck.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada-part2 by palliative: 9:39pm On Feb 19, 2012
@ newacca et all, although stated on the CDHC's checklist. That payment of tuition fee is not required at d time of application.
But from ur own personal judgement, do u feel there is some sort of an added advantage to an applicant who pays his tuition prior to visa application.
Thanks.
