Awww! Thanks!

Nice!

Thanks!

Nice work. But do people stl use black lip liner?

If am creating a fashion look then black liner might come to play, sometimes it could be used with other colours of lipners, however we dont advice anyone to use it because of the way it looks, not so cool! As well using black, brown, purple, blue, wine for the brows are not acceptable unless for a certain creative look or something.

Nice one dear. Plz i need ur help! Someone dat has same complexion with actress Ini-Edo. Which shade/colour of "Mary Kay Foundation" is the right one for her?

Looking at Edo right now. 607 mixed with a tiny winy 708 will suffice. But i'll advice you buy from store that has professional makeup artists who can test on you. There is nothing as perfect as your foundation being tested.

I love all ur works ma,great job u'r doin...what do u tink about mac studio fix powder? And what powder do u tink is better than mac?

I am one MUA that does not like MAC products except for their lipsticks. MAC does not work well with our weather. There are lots of other brands that will put MAC to shame like blackup, ben nye, mehron, graftobian, makeup forever, bh, maybelline to name a few.

Nice works here. But I think the lips look heavy rather than supple. Also, the lip boundary liners are not straight. (eg pic 2 and last pic of the hajjia).
I can't describe it in "women term" , sorry.

Thanks for the observation. Let me start first with your observation of heavy lips, looking at the before pics did you notice some of the clients lips my not go down well with too light lips, a makeup is suppose to compliment and enhance certain features of the face in which sometimes the colours needs to come out to play as makeup is an art. Talking about the lip lines if you zoom the pics you will notice the lines are thick around the edges and faded into the lipstick, for the Hijabi the lips is perfect for the look as a subtle lips compliments the type of makeup that will fit an Hijabite. The lipliner was applied with light hands to give that look.

Thanks!

Okay for your foundation I will tell your to try blackup if you can affordable if you can't you can try either Marykay or Avon, Avon is really wonderful. Concealer Milani will do the trick am actually yet to meet a good concealer that can cover as much as milani does, heard blackup is wonderful but I have not yet tried it except for the foundation. BH palettes are wonderful for eyeshadows but don't go near their 120 colours etc they are the regular 120 palettes you see everywhere don't let anyone tell you otherwise instead go for their amazing palettes like "take me to brazil" "Eyes on the 80's" etc. Sleek is also good though most people don't like the way it gets on the skin while applying but their palletes are still wonderful though. For the brushes I don't know how much you know about makeup would have love if you use a sculpt and blend pro brush but basically it does not have the needed eyeshadow brushes. I don't do brands on brushes because most are same, the brands sometimes just slap on their names on it and make it expensive. For and highlighting and contour video I think its best you see it done live that's why you see most people walk around looking ashen! Below is a picture of me with a perfectly contoured face.

Feel free to ask me more questions.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Covering Hair Palava!!! by palma(f): 2:10am On Oct 26, 2014
sino:
Assalam alaykum,
Ibn Qayyim rh said:
A sin which leads one to submit (to Allah) is more preferable in the sight of Allah than a good deed which causes one to have pride.
alfawaid p.122
I believe everyone has one struggle or the other in the path to fulfill his/her responsibilities. As a Muslim, the most important thing is never to allow ourselves to submit to the challenges we face in the path of Islam.
The religion of Allah is easy, but the shaitan can make it look difficult with all the glamour in this world, but know that everything in this life is a test, you will fail some, and you will pass some, but never let the light of Islam die in your heart.
In order not to let that happen, we learn about the religion, and practice it to the best of our ability, Allah (SWT) knows us more than ourselves, He never intended hardship for us, thus, know your level, strive to improve, take one step at a time, and everything would fall into place by His grace.
I pray Allah assist each and everyone of us in this struggle ameen.

Amin!

Go back to school, learn comprehension then come back and read this tread from the beginning again. Maybe by then you will understand what is truly going on.
-Victim card will jot take you anywhere, you are not doing anything for us but yourself.
-"i am trying" will not take you any where unless "you do"
-YES YES and YES a muslimah should be ashamed to admit that in the manner you did, it's not stealing. It's not murder, but it is crime in the sight of Allah (swt). Stop arguing blindly and on what you thing is right and work with the verses and Qur'an. I mad a quote to support this.
-for the millionth time, nobody is judging you. Only telling the truth. Now if you whoosh to work with it fine, good for you if you choose to stick to the "I can't get a job" then that's your business. The bottom line is you have been told the truth.

Look here mister i don't give a hoot about you and when you've learnt manners quote me properly then i will listen. Look at the character a supposed muslim is exhibiting! Any wonder we've been tagged with violence! Why cant you reply in a civilised manner or must you insult before you drive your points home? Who are you? And who said anything about doing anything for you? Oga you are the one that is lacking in skills of communication. If you are making a point you don't have to sound uncouth! I did not insult you so respect my space and don't insult me!

I am a muslim Insha Allah by birth and by Marriage, i don't cover my hair at all except i want to pray and during ramadan then i cover all! Hijab is not by force and yes the teachings in the holy Quran mandates it. Its not as if i haven't tried covering in fact i try not to forget my scarf when going out and i move with hijab sisters to be encouraged, i was then told by a learned man that the reason i am finding it difficult to do is because it was not coming from my mind, he then said until i can fully accept it without feeling compelled then i should let it be. I run from forum like this because we muslims are the fastest to judge and feel all righteous because i don't cover my head does not make me a bad person or doesn't mean i don't believe in Allah and because you do doesn't make you a good person either. Wearing an hijab doesn't make you better than those that are not wearing, i might be attacked for these words but this is the truth. Anytime i step into the islam forum i close it back because the holier than thou attitude is overbearing and before i say something that will make me sin against Almighty Allah i will rather turn back. I come here to feel love and encouragement but if am being attacked by my own people how will i even reason with them? Several times i wanted to ask about Hijab but when i see the response given to people like me i hold my peace. Why should anyone be ashamed that they are not covering? Did they steal? Did they kill? Are they in prison? Encouragement is needed not chastisement even Almighty Allah will not chastise in such manner. All the words of Allah are encouraging not compelling. The question is are you better? Do you think your character is good enough for Aljanna? Are you so perfect without any sin whatsoever? Have you totally been humbled by Allah? Are you clean? Does your way reflect the teachings of the prophet (SAW)! Do you love your neighbours? Are your thoughts and acts encouraging? Can your way of life encourage others to follow Allah?

I still want to wear Hijab as i am good in tying it. Sometimes i want to come in here and tell my sisters i am a makeup artist but most of the words that are being thrown left right and centre are not encouraging at all. Weigh your words before responding it will help a lot! Jazakallahu Khair.

Family / Re: TWO Years In Marriage!!! The Feeling, The Realization And Surprise. by palma(f): 3:16pm On Oct 19, 2014
@op let me come in as a married woman with 2 kids and over 4yrs of marriage. Trust me i am not perfect and to be candid strong headed. Kudos to my hubby for ever managing me. Do you believe that there are no perfect marriages out there? Do you know what you count has issues are not even some people will consider a problem. As much as i dont support some of the characters you listed especially the not cooking aspect, i will still implore you to be patient and just a little bit understanding. She might be stressed and frustrated. Is she working? Does she have any help? Do you help? In what aspect does she compare you to her dad? Are you caring enough? Are you the type of man that just laze about expecting the wife to do everything? Do you compliment her? Do you notice her? Do you ask after her well being from time time? Do you take her out? Are you proud of her? Do you discuss with her or see her as someone who cannot be your match intelligence wise? How do you talk to her? Any endearment words for her? Do you love her? Did you cheat on her?

Your wife might be unhappy and she will lash out when she cant take it anymore. Don't even call 3rd party into your issues it will make things worse, talk to her ask her why the change. If you can sleep with her to bring forth 2kids without external intervention, then get your acts together and solve without any intervention. Sometimes take the kids off her hands to give her a break. Dint ever reply her in an abusive manner. Hold her close, if you love her tell her. She needs to know you have her back.

See a real man will look for a way to put his life together, asking for help on a social network such as this might worsen an already bad situation because most people giving you advice are not married thus might not understand your situation. Please keep your marital troubles away from people because they will add more issues. If the situation is very bad and all else has failed after several attempts, then you can involve basically your wife's family, your family must be the last to know and before you wonder why its because when everything is settled it might not be settled in their own mind and your wife might forever not find favour in their sight.

Dear anguished op thats all i can say. May God be with you and your family,

Fashion / Your Camera And You As A Makeup Artist by palma(f): 12:07pm On May 23, 2013
Like i tell my students being a makeup artist is far far more deeper than anyone can ever imagine. Apart from having professional skills in the art of making up, sometimes we've had to touch other aspects and areas of expert skills. One of this skills is photography amongst many.

When i was trained years back there are some skills i was never thought or rather maybe my instructors never knew about them. Photography in makeup artistry is not something you can ever over look, angles and lighting are very essential in makeup and photography. You'll now hardly see a professional makeup artists without a pro camera to go along, i know so many people will wonder why we are actually bothering ourselves with pro camera when we can simply buy a small digital camera or that we talk to bride's photographers to give us pics. The truth is we have tried those avenues and realized that we wont grow fast in an industry that it's main aim is perfection! Another question will be why don't you take along a photographer to help out (after all photographers wont start doing makeup), already we are accused of overcharging so if am taking a photographer along wont the charges be more? There was a day i called a photographer friend of mine to help me out as i want the best of pictures and he said to me "Lola because it's you just bring 15k" he said for such things he collects 25k-30k and that's because it's not his normal job that he does weddings for 250k-600k depending on the requirements, i was speechless! If i gave him 15k for a job i took for 40k then at the end of the day by the time i finish my calculations if i am not careful will be at loss!

So i decided to get something atleast to tide me over till am able to get a pro camera but at the end of the day i bought Nikon D3100. I totally love the effects it gives my work now, naturally i don't like Photoshopping my pictures so this camera is perfect though i still have my eyes on Canon D90(yeah i know am Oliver Twist) but having lovely pictures encourages me. I will share pictures this camera has taken within my studio!

So please if you are a makeup artist suck it up and get yourself a nice camera, Nikon and Canon are d best so far in my opinion (shebi i no be photographer).

Ciao xxxxxx

Fashion / Re: What Kind Of Makeup Will Make My Nose Look Slimmer? by palma(f): 9:28am On Mar 17, 2013
There something called H&C (Highlighting and contouring), you can do it on your whole face or simply do it on the features you want. Contouring Basically gives an illusion of an elongated face or nose by creating more shadows in the areas where light doesn't fall upon while highlighting is simply creating more brightness in the areas where light falls upon. This two combined gives a more pronounced look. Check my pictures below. The first has no H&C and the 2nd does. The 3rd picture shows what i am talking about.
Hope this helps. For more information add me on 32A000B9 or call 07032540174.

You can get Marykay 607 or Avon in dark colour. Or any oil free foundation not necessarily a popular one. For instance Nattra but its not in the Nigerian Market. Also for powder try Iman oil blotting powder in medium deep.
