I still shake my head @ some people's post. Please stop insulting the OP it is quite not fair. I am sure many of you here would have taken actions instead of asking for general advice like she did. But come to think of it what would you have said if it had been the OP's husband who posted something like this? I am quite sure most of you would say that her father isn't her biological father so they must be sleeping together. Her husband shouldn't be inconsiderate to her feelings too na, after all she also have parents and is not displaying strange affections with them. As a man no body is saying he shouldn't love his mum to pieces but when it's getting as strange as bed hugs then there's problem. Abi is he the first man on earth to be an only child? Before you talk think deeply can you accept your husband in bed with his mum? Or your wife in bed with her dad? lipsrsealed

OAM4J:

50-50? I hear you. And I hope the 50-50 includes all other family responsibilities including financial contributions.

My concern is; in a case where both do not agree, who has the final say? or should the matter be left pending/abandoned?

Hmmmmmm if you want the woman to share financial responsibilities equally then be ready to share domestic chores equally too including doing the babies pampers and backing them lipsrsealed

Yes the woman's views are important also cuz if her hubby takes the wrong step and she doesn't stop him on time they will both definitely dance to the tune. Women are not slaves, they have brains too, so to think that as a man you are the only decision maker then you must be a stupid chauvinist male who isn't fit to keep a home.

OMG!  shocked Why are some people abusing the OP? She has the right to feel insecure though there might be no cause for alarm. @ OP sincerely speaking you must av noticed these affections and thought nothing of it when you were dating, so please think nothing of it now though i dont like d idea of both of them hugging each other in bed, that's quite extreme! There's nothing wrong even if they kiss or peck one another but don't force the issue or else you will find yourself starting a fight you can never finish. Abeg sis let them be afterall she is not living with you or is she?

Family / Re: Inter-religious Relationships/marriages? by palma(f): 4:26pm On Apr 06, 2011
Following this thread i now believe most people serve religion more than they serve God. What is religion? Is it not the teachings you have been brought up with or accepted? Does this make anyone's religion better than the other? How do you know whatever religion you practise is the right one? Did God actually talk to you and tell you it's the right one? Or do you simply listen to the teachings of scholars who also got it from previous scholars? Will religion take you to heaven? Mind you if you sacrifice the whole world for your religion but still hate thy neighbours you can never make heaven. I choose to be who i am today and practise what i practise not to satisfy anyone but because i found fulfillment in what i am doing. Will you subject yourself to a life of unhappiness when your heart cries out to be somewhere else? Look we are created as equals and if you check any religious book you will see that you are no better than the next person only maybe lucky in some aspects.

Man arrested with ballot papers in Osun
| Print |
Sunday, 03 April 2011

A man was arrested by soldiers in Odo Otin Local Government area of Osun State yesterday with five booklets of ballot papers.

The man, who claimed to be an INEC official, could not disclose the unit he was assigned to.

Osun State PDP has called for a thorough investigation of the arrest of the middle-aged man.

A statement issued by the party's chairman, Otunba Sunday Ojo Williams, said the arrest of the man confirmed the PDP's position that the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state was working for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

He said it was suspected that many of such illegal allocation of ballot papers had been done across the state.

The PDP boss commended the security agencies who arrested the man and also called for the fishing out of all those involved in the scandal.

The simple qusetion is this, Why is PDP so fast to blame ACN? Something is fishy in that arrest.

efisher:

Palma, this is a return prayer for you and every other Nigerian PDP, CPC, ANPP, ACN, etc supporters included:

"May your lives be filled with blessings. May you not be judged by where you come from but by the content of your heart. May you achieve astonishing growth and success in life. May you stand among kings and be recognised. May your lives be protected from electoral violence. May the greed of desperate politicians not cause you to stumble. May you contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria. May you and your children enjoy the benefits of good governance. Amen"

Sibe007:

GO AND SLEEP MY DEAR

WE say PDP did this, PDP did that, Are PDP non-Nigerians?

We are all Nigerians, We are our Biggest Problem

The Government may owe you some things same way you owe the Country

What have you done for Nigeria other than find faults, Curse fellow nigerians, rain insults on Ppl with different views, Talk ill about us outside the Country

Did i even mentioned PDP did any wrong? And how is what i said a curse? I simply said a simple prayer, If anyone believes in PDP they should be willing to say a big amen and if they don't they are still accessible to a loud amen it's simply a 2way thing. Instead of all the arguments the prayer simplify things na.

debest1:

A few days yet before the election and the bullying has gone up another notch! This one is practically cursing people for exercising their fundamental human right to elect their preferred candidate,  na wa, real wa
i didnt know it has come to this,

Sorry this is no bully cuz am not canvassing for any party here, the argument has always been PDP this, PDP that, so nothing to it.
GenBuhari:

If they believe in PDP then PDP supporter would not consider it a curse for their life to be run in the same manner that PDP has run the government.
Abi?

Thank you jare na the thing wey i dey tell dem be dat oh!
Politics / Re: Official Thread Of The Bon Nedg Presidential Debate by palma(f): 12:00pm On Mar 31, 2011
Well me i wont say much but here is a simple prayer for GEJ supporters and non GEJ supporters.

Anybody who is willing to vote in PDP via GEJ may their lives be run the way PDP has run Nigeria for the past 12years.

N.B This is not a curse oh but simply a prayer to strengthen ur resolve in PDP since you believe in their choice.

Did i hear anyone say amen?

Fashion / The Art Of Makeup! (working With Colours) by palma(f): 2:43pm On Mar 21, 2011
The low down on Color Theory

Understanding how color works is a very important part to makeup application.

Primary Colors are the fundamental colors that cannot be obtained by any mixture. There are only three primary colors, Blue, Red, and Yellow.

Secondary Colors are made by mixing equal amounts of two primary colors. Yellow + Red= Orange. Yellow + Blue= Green. Red + Blue= Violet.

Tertiary Colors are made by mixing equal amounts of a primary color and a secondary color, but they must be right next to each other on the color wheel.

Another concept that is very important with makeup is called complementary colors. Complementary colors are directly opposite each other on the color wheel.
When mixed together these colors cancel each other out to create a neutral brown or gray color, but when you place complementary colors side by side you make both colors seem brighter, which gives a greater contrast.

You usually want to base the color of your eye shadows looks to be complementary to your eye color.

Cool and Warm Colors
In order to be a makeup artist you must know the difference between cool and warm colors.

Cool colors suggest coolness, and are dominated by blues, greens, violets, and blue-reds. But reds can be both cool and warm. If the red is blue based, it is cool. If the red is orange based, it is warm.
The same kind of thing can happen with greens. If a green contains more gold, then it is warm. If a green contains more blue, it is cool. Whenever most colors have a blue base, they will always be a cool color.

Warm colors range from yellow to gold through the oranges, red-oranges, most reds, and even some yellow-greens.

There are three main components to consider when picking colors to use. These three components are skin color, eye color, and hair color.

Skin Colors Warm Cool
Light Skin Yellow, Gold, Pale Peach Pink or slightly reddish (rosy) undertones
Medium Skin Yellow, Yellow- Orange, Red Olive (yellow-green)
Dark Skin Red, Orange-Brown, Red-Brown Dark Olive, Blue, Blue-Black, Ebony

For a person with a light skin tone, you can use light colors for a soft, natural look, but using medium to dark colors will give you a more dramatic look.

For a person with a medium skin tone, medium colors will create an understated look, but by using light or dark tones will give you more contrast and appear bolder.

For a person with a dark skin tone, dark colors will be most subtle, but medium to medium-light or bright colors will be vivid.

If you want to use a color that is lighter than your skin tone, look for translucent, shimmery colors.

Have you ever wondered why certain people look better in specific colors? Or why they continue to wear the same colors over and over again? It's because certain colors go well with that person's skin tone, eye color, and hair color. You have to think about all of these things when choosing clothing and makeup, as well as when you want to change your natural hair color.

There are so many people in this world who do not pay attention to the simple rules of color theory, and the things they put on make them look washed out, or like a hussy! So you really need to be careful with what you wear and what coloring you wear on your face as far as makeup goes!

Using complementary colors is essential in using eye shadows, because you want to use colors that will make your eyes pop. The aforementioned colors above when either trying to neutralize something (like under eye circles or redness) or bring out the color of your eyes (like if you have blue eyes, orange colors help them stand out).

I think with the above you are well on your way in becoming a wonderful Makeup Artist!

HOW TO CONCEAL YOUR SPOTS

Having pimples and spots isn't easy and even the most confident of people can become self-conscious and upset. Whether you suffer from a lot of spots or just the occasional breakout, follow our advice to help you cover up even the most noticeable of acne.

      Step 1: Prepare

Before you even contemplate techniques to cover spots it is important to prepare correctly. This means always washing your face thoroughly before going to bed.

Wash your hands before handling your face. Dirt and oils on your hands will only aggravate the blemish.

Also make sure you moisturize any blemishes as it will be easier to cover soft skin than to cover dry skin.

      Step 2: Foundation

Depending on what suits your skin, you could use either a foundation or a tinted moisturizer on your face, and for smaller blemishes and spots this can sometimes be enough. This isn't a necessity but if you normally use these products then they should be applied before any concealer is used.

      Step 3: Concealer

Put a small amount of concealer on the back of your hand, and using a small brush, your finger or cotton bud apply it directly onto the spot.

      Step 4: Blend

Finally, using a small brush, blend the concealer at the edges of the spot onto the rest of the skin to give a more even finish.

Warning: Using too much makeup to cover blemishes may make skin look blotchy. Start conservatively, and add as needed.

I think wat she tried to do was to take d effect away from the purple/rainbow colours that's y she used a gold bag. She would have looked like a dramatic clown if that bag was purple. I think problems must Nigerians have is their to-match sensibility, when they wear black and white they believe a black purse or white purse is a must, but in fashion it doesn't work like that, creativity is the order of the day. If it's a top fashion icon that's wearing that cloth i don't think we would complain. Life is too short to be dull, try things and if it doesn't work, try anoda.  wink
