Anyway the Madrid saga shouldn't be used here in my own opinion since florentina perez already had a transfer policy that at least one world class player has to be bought each Season and which they had been doing even before Mou joined which had not yielded so much result for all their efforts. Mou came and gave them all they wanted except for the Champions League which we can't really blame him for seeing he reached the Semis in all his tries, losing on penalties once, another by the skin of his tooth. The fact that madrid hasn't won a league or domestic cup title speaks volume about his addition to the team.
The Chelsea part i don't seem to get your point, Chelsea was the biggest spender in Europe hell yes without Chelsea spending that way how were we supposed to move from lower mid- table to win the Premier League out of the grasp of the two giants, or how were we supposed to attract the world class players to take us to the level we wanted seeing we had no pedigree to boast of.
