We might be next when AFRICOM, French military bases , UK military bases, etc. refuse to leave African countries. What happened in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger where western military bases were kicked out is not the end of the story, because they might come back by force , using the very same methods Israel is using in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon and Iran, Who would help us ? No-one, not the former slave masters who enriched themselves from the hellish ordeal they imposed upon us over the past six centuries. What types of defense system do we have ? , zero, none, nada. Still they will be some nairalanders here saying defense is not a priority, we need to find food and jobs for our population. In early 1959, the Sudanese Republic and Senegal formed the Federation of Mali. On March 31, 1960, France agreed to grant the Federation of Mali full independence. On June 20, 1960, the Federation of Mali became an independent nation, with Modibo Keïta as its first president.What you did say is the name Mali was chosen by Leopold Cedar Senghor , a Senegalese political figure who would later become president of Senegal when the Mali federation was disbanded. So Mali is NOT a colonial name because it was chosen by Africans eager to perpetuate the memories of the Mali empire that predates colonial times. Mali was already powerful in the 13 century long before French colonization. The same way Nkrumah chose Ghana instead of Gold Coast, to keep the memories of the Ghana empire Secondly, You did not mention a country that is renowned in West Africa for its colonial name that country is Ivory Coast ( Cote d'Ivoire ). tctrills:Intensifying continental trade is a now a threat to somebody. Does Nigeria need to import wheat and rice from outside of the continent? Do Africans need to buy shoes, ties, pants and T-shirts from UK, France, USA, Spain etc ? 1.4 billion people in Africa cannot make computers . computer chips and car engines ? If we have viable continental railroad and paved road network, enable to travel from one part of Africa to another part in less than 90 minutes and two hours, you will see how much of a change can be accomplished. Israel and Ukraine: Two potential threats to Africa. We Africans better build a continental army equipped with at least 10 million nukes, 10 million combat tanks, 10 million warplanes , 10 million combat helicos, 10 million drones and 10 million conventional intercontinental ballistic missiles. When you see what happened in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and what is going on right now in Iran, you understand all those wars are not about religion, it is about land grab , it is about an all-out expansion. After Iran, Egypt will be next, then the Democratic Republic of the Congo ( to steal wealth there ), then Nigeria, then South Africa etc. Ukraine will surely be happy to be part of that attack as the Ukranian leadership is willing to remain of the European's payroll against Africa. |

lordm:Why ? you need soldiers, engineers, doctors, farmers, researchers etc make a country strong. China has 1.4 billion people, population of India 1.4 billion people Pakistan : 247.5 million people Indonesia : 281 million people. China is exporting wheat and rice., they have one of the strongest markets ( if not the strongest) in the world.
