vanunu:
For your information, not even buhari can stop the islamists using the nigerian army alone. The earlier you nigerians know it the better.
Let's try him first, just as we tried Jonathan and he became a woeful failure!
If he doesn't measure up, we kick him out too, but I doubt that anyway, a dogged general who exterminated the maitatsine rebellion, a fearless civil war combatant, and a decorated war hero.
He is a thousand times better than the present lame duck.
Only a madman will continue to do things thesame way and expect a different result !
Renewing the tenancy of Jonathan in Aso rock is simply insanity!

Nigeria has become the laughing stock of the whole world.
No thanks to this present government.
Always looking for the easy way out, didn't they investigate the so called negotiator?
What this means is that the SSS is comatose!
Politics › Re: Photos Of Nigerians Running for Their Lives After Boko Haram Attack by Pangea: 9:39pm On Nov 02, 2014
All those exonerating Jonathan in this issue are either mad or they are just clueless about what government is all about !
This man swore to protect all Nigerians, no matter their ethnicity, religion or tribe!
But the truth is that the man is clueless , I doubt he will even be able to protect otuoke if Boko haram take their battle to the place!
He is surrounded by useless idiots who gives stupid counsels, and always rationalising every of his failure.
If he can't protect us, let him resign and allow anyone that can do the job.
What is the Senate and the house of assembly waiting for?
Let them impeach the man already! angry

Politics › Re: EXPLOSIVE: Ahmad Salkida Reveals What Boko Haram Wants by Pangea:
I have always known that the resurgence of BH is as a result of the incompetence of this GEJ government, even Yar Adua who was sickly had the common sense to wipe them out when they started their rubbish, fast forward years later, Jonathan and his band of 40 thieves allowed the monster to grow while blaming everybody else but themselves.
Any discerning Nigerian would have known what salkida is saying is bare truth, and just as he said, Nigeria has to fight or succumb, negotiation with these guys will not work!
My advice is that, by 2015, the people must kick out this lame duck and elect a man that can fight this menace and get back our country!
All those who are politicing this issue are part of the problem , Boko haram started under a Muslim government (Yar adua) and not under Jonathan.
It was the hands off, do nothing policy of the present government that emboldened them.
Imagine! Getting military hardware from the cowardly and always retreating army in Mubi to prosecute the war and kill more people for another year!
The battalion head and that chief of staff that gave the order for retreat ought to be shot publicly as a deterrence to others!

The state security should get close to this Salkida guy and get more Intel.
Politics › Re: How Boko Haram Captured Mubi by Pangea: 3:59am On Nov 01, 2014
In a saner clime,
Some battalion heads, commanders and generals would have lost their jobs by now.

Where is Mr. President?
Another town has fallen o, is he waiting for them to start knocking at the door of abuja?
If that happens, does he think he will move the capital of Nigeria to Otuoke?

Madness all around in this country!
Politics › Re: It's Official, Shekau Is Dead: Boko Haram's New Video Shows Someone Else (PIC) by Pangea:
akinsadeez:
I don't really see or know what the fixation with Abubakar Shekau is. It is very clear that Shekau is not the leader of Boko haram, he is just the face of Boko haram that is being presented to the public...a sort of spokesperson. Shekau does not issue the orders. Being the leader amd the face are two different things. The people who are really calling the shots are up there behind the camera with some of them even rumored to be n the government. Even the Nigerian Army has said that Boko haram has created the Shekau character and even if they kill ten shekaus, they will bring other people to play the character.

Therefore I don't agree at all that the death of shekau will discourage foot soldiers. Even with his rumored death boko haram still continues to fight and rout the Nigerian army. They are still setting off Bombs in the country. Until the real people behind Boko haram are apprehended, even killing twenty shekaus will not make a jot of difference.
And may I had this, it is on record that the replacement shekau ends up being more brutal than the previous!
He tries to outdo his predecessor by being more blood thirsty and devise more ways of raising terror in the heart of people.
So don't rejoice yet till the sponsors of this madness are apprehended!

Remember, Shekau is dead but BH just sacked Mubi and put a whole battalion to flight!

Nice work!

Most camera users just put the settings on auto and click away! grin

Taking creative shots, is another ball game entirely!
You need to master the manual settings like aperture , shutter speed, iso etc
And their relationship to each other, believe me, it's very simple to understand.

With that knowledge, anybody with any phone that has manual camera control can take breathtaking pictures!
Don't wait until u get a DSLR,
The Op has just prooved that.

The Samsung S5 has a new camera mode with refocus ability, just take the picture anyhow and after, you pick any point on the just taken picture, the point get focussed while the rest get blurred (depth of field)
That's creative shots for the lazy grin

I am an Igbo guy, and I can't even understand why majority of Jonathan's supporters are Igbos. First, the Ijaws don't like Igbos, and yet we campaign for their son strongly. Second, the way Jonathan handle the issue of boko haram when it started helped boko haram to enlarge their power base. Lets unite and kick his arse out of Aso Rock. But APC must not have it because their utterances suck. My silly head must think well this time before casting my vote.

As an Igbo guy, Check the link of my thread where I made up my mind not to insult Yorubas again. So, don't think I am not an Igbo.

@ Op

Why are you wasting your time , trying to educate the idiots?

Reading almost all the response, I can deduce that, all hope is lost for the country if this is the mindset of an average Nigerian!
For a change to happen, one must first agree, there is a problem.
The people in the zoo called Nigeria has adapted to their problems instead of going out of their way to bring solution or a change!

They are like the Cypher in the movie - The Matrix, who opined that "Ignorance is bliss"
They prefer the illusion rather than the reality !
The OP has just painted the reality, but what do we get, the cyphers of Nigeria, throwing tantrums because once again they have been yanked out of their illusion!

pendy79:
He is being celebrated na? He got approval for N1.9bn from the FG to fight the scourge but released only N400m to both lagos and rivers state the 2 states that got affected. Meanwhile he pocketed the balance of N1.5bn and spent at his discretion. Which other celebration does he need again?

He sat in Abuja giving press statements of SITREP he receives via phone calls and e-mails while the likes of Dr.Adadevoh and other true heroes of the Ebola fight gave their life and their best to minimize the likelihood of spread. The likes of 1st responders like the lagos state health commissioner and the professor at LUTH who saw and combat Ebola right on the field are not celebrated but a Press Release minister should be celebrated instead.

The Lagos and Rivers states governors who used their state resources at the peak of the epidemic are not seeking to be celebrated but the one who never visited First Consultant Hospital, the isolation centre in yaba nor visited the testing laboratory in LUTH should be celebrated instead and because he is not celebrated you in your warped, jaundiced and ethnic driven bias think it is because of his tribe and race

What is it with you people from the other side of the Niger with the way you throwaway commonsense on the altar of ethnicity and blind followership? Can you list the particular heroics of Chukwu in combating the spread of Ebola meanwhile he only spent 400mn out of the N1.9bn uncle JonaTAN gave him. He should come and render account mbuk

What gut!

He says all these in our faces, rubbing it in?
For the fact that he is still occupying that office is an indictment on Goodluck Jonathan!
Jonathan has turned Nigeria to a smorgasbod of corruption!

This is a lovely quote that summarize the watch:

What I've been saying ever since I got the device is that this isn't an invention like the computer or the internet or the smartphone. This is more like... uh... proper climate control systems in cars, where you can set the desired temperature and everything. You can't stare at our forever, fiddling with it and figuring out what it does; you just sort of put it on, test it out, and go on with your life. And while your life becomes easier, it's not always an obvious improvement or one you would think about frequently.
I think this is one reason you're seeing a lot more hate than love for the device. Nobody is going to post online with a great story like ”Just got a text message while my hands were full! Yay!" or "Almost missed my exit on the parkway, but Moto 360 saved the day!"
It's a simple device that does what it does excellently, and no more. So when something goes wrong, it's much more obvious than when something goes very subtly (but awesomely) right.

There is an active and extensive online m360 community, designing and mimicking luxurious brand of watches,
They are making their watch faces, an example is this ROLEX watch face below:

LordReed:
Hmmm sounds nice but if you need to be looking at messages, status updates and what not during a meeting then maybe you should not be there LoL.

I get the point of smart watches but I just think they haven't reached their sweet spot yet. Something like the Pebble with its long battery life and simple functionality without all that camera and other gimmicks. Why the heck will you want to type an SMS on a watch after buying a 5in/6in smartphone?

They should make make smart watches with that Citizens Ecodrive that way you never have to worry about charging the thing.
Who doesn't peek at phones during long and boring meetings?
Everyone is guilty!
Haba!
There is no camera on it and you don't type on it also.
Text is by voice input through google now and highly accurate, it even understand Nigerian accent, really wowed!

I understand the fear of many who are late adopters, they want everythinhg to be perfect before they make the jump.

I'm an earlier adopter, and no shame in that!
Your citizen ecodrive is a watch face on the 360 and that is the beauty of it.
With the right watchface downloaded, your watch transform into it with all the dials hands working perfectly.

Of course the battery life will surely get better.
Phones › Re: Moto 360, Anyone? by Pangea(op):
LordReed:
I am still of the opinion that smart watches are an unnecessary duplication of function. I wonder what you'd want to do with your smart watch that you can't do easily with your phone and add to that is the need to recharge the bloody thing. Buy a "real" watch and have a less stress looking for how to recharge a watch.
Lol,
The essence of a smart watch is to compliment your phone, though some of the functions might look like duplication!
With a smartwatch, you don't need to whip out your phone everytime.
Your notifications, emails, smses, update whether bbm, whatapps etc are pushed directly to be read on your phone while the phone itself is in ur pocket or bag!
This is cool, especially if u are in a meeting, or in a situation where you can't bring out your phone.
When calls come in, the name of the caller and the pix is displayed on the watch while vibrating, you can accept or reject the call fro the watch without being inapropriate in a meeting.
It has health tracker, with a heart monitor, fitness tracker, a GPS turn by turn navigation which is a great asset while driving, it vibrates about 100 meters before where you will turn.
As per charging, it comes with a stand like qi wireless charger, you just dump the watch on it when u want to go to bed and it also serve as table clock with night light.

To you it might look unecessary now, but I can assure you in a year or two now, almost everybody will be wearing one!

If its unecessary as you claim, would apple jump on the band wagon?

As for me, my own watch last almost a day, I put it on around 5am when I'm going out and put it on the charger around 11pm when I go to bed with at least 40% charge still on it (I receive lots of emails, smses, and updates through out the day)
I have no regret buying it.

Note: tomorrow Wednesday, Android Wear 2.0 will be released bringing more capabilities to the watch.

Its going to be a real interesting days ahead!
