NafeesaAA: The last security agency still present in Gwoza was today rooted out by about 1000 armed Boko Haram fighters with 8 APC. I just got this breaking news from my Cousin a MOPOL that Boko Haram have now completely over run the famous MOPOL Training Camp in Gwoza, after two unsuccessful attempts. That the insurgents pissed with their inability to conquer the camp after destroying a military base and warded off two attempt by the military to recapture Gwoza, today lunched a all out offensive on the camp.

Before this attack the MOPOL are the only security agency still maintaining a presence in Gwoza, and the camp is just about 10km to Gwoza town, while the military are stationed in Mubi about 70km to Gwoza town.

As for the identity of the female suicide bomber, there is NO clear resemblance evident between the photos of the missing kidnap victim and the dead suicide bomber, besides the fact that both young women are of comparable age.

After Boko Haram had left the town, more than 600 people, mostly recaptured detainees, were extrajudicially executed in various locations across Maiduguri.

The detainees in the video were rearrested by the CJTF in Giddari Polo, near the Barracks, where various sources have confirmed that a number of them were shot and killed by soldiers after being handed over to the military. The military then took the corpses and the detainees to a location outside Maiduguri, near Giddari where the executions are reported to have been carried out.

The slitting of throats happened on the day that BH attacked a Nigerian Army Barracks and released many prisoners
BH took away its own members and asked non-members to join them
The non-members refused to join BH
Then Civilian JTF rounded up those former detainees and handed them over to Nigerian Army (JTF)
Nigerian Army proceeded to kill all of them

Was it right to kill people who refused to join BH after they were released by BH?

I, SiriusBlack, about a month ago, started this thread on this wonderful platform called Nairaland to show Nigerians the struggles and successes of the Gallant NIGERIAN ARMY through pictorials..the thread was all I did with my spare time, uploading photos and encouraging Nigerians that the Army was working to make the average Nigerian safe..Thanks to guys like Henry's intelligent analysis of weapon systems, EasternLeopard's quite unorthodox tactical advice, Jakumo's frank assessments, IbnSultans ceaseless encouragement, Komekn's constructive criticism, quid's insults, adeyemik's comments, cirmuell's early morning greetings(I see ya bro!), Chris365's encouragements and all other friends I made here while doing this work, we built what can be said th be the best social media thread in this country...I enjoyed all the appreciation of this country's fighting men who toil day and night in the trenches fighting for peace..I was flipping. A popular Defence blog today, when I saw something that broke my heart and almost drove me to tears..while I have never admitted to being a soldier, I felt like the COAS's comments were aimed at this threas and all another defence blog we all know about...I felt sad and disappointed..the COAS referred to internet campaigns for the army as work of "Unpatriotic" and "Disgruntled" elements...my heart sank...all I wanted was some P.R for this war on terror..since all we were fed was inaccuracies on SaharaReporters and co..The Army chief, I believe, simply means that he does not want us to do PR for the Army anymore...perhaps Olukolade can handle it...anyway, I decided to respect his wishes and stop...I still have 654 photos in my archives, with 63 coming in today...but, now, ill stop now...Let the army do its work itself..not to give "disgruntled" elements like me..lol...the journey has been good so far...for now, its Goodbye..ill only resume posting if the Army officially hints that I can continue..till then, wish me luck, pray for me, as I shall, for you all...

1). Plane was brought down in the rebel controlled area, however, do you know BUK missile system works? If you do, it's most likely that if it were the rebels who shot it down, based on the speed in which the plane was travelling - it would've crashed in the Russian territory. But it didn't.

2). Now you care about mass murder, but when thousands were killed in Libya by American bombs - it was great, no? The Red Cross confirmed today that over 250 innocent civilians have been killed in Luhansk, with thousands more injured, by indiscriminate shelling from Kiev Junta funded and supported by America. Where's the outcry from you and your ilk? Aren't they human as well?

3). Well, do you know how to read flight route map? And the Flight 17 was actually re-routed about 200km off the normal route by the Ukrainian air traffic control, over the war zone. Why did the Ukrainian authorities do that?

shymexx: Everything you posited here is emotional innuendo induced by wicked propaganda, and devoid of logic. Take your emotions out of it for a minute since you already know everything that happened without facts, and answer the following questions:

1). We all know the missile that downed the plane came from a BUK missile system. We also know both Ukraine junta in Kiev and the rebels have BUK missile system. Ukraine has tons of it, and about two batteries were moved within range of where the plane was shot down two weeks ago(Ukraine hasn't denied this), while the BUK missile system in the rebels' possession was captured from Ukraine.

The question is: can you prove beyond reasonable doubt that the missile which brought the plane came from the rebels' BUK missile system, since Ukraine also had a few in that axis capable of bringing down the plane?

I want proofs based on facts and not crappy doctored phone conversation propaganda folks with tinfoil hat on have been spouting everywhere.

2). Do you realise that the seperatists are ethnic Russians, and they're defenceless folks being shelled day and night by Kiev junta funded by America from air and land, for wanting a destiny closer to their brothers across the border - and not the west. So why do you think Russia and Russians should turn a blind eye and allow them to be killed? And do you understand geopolitics and how Ukraine is next to Russia, and how its national security is at stake here, with America about to move next to its border? Pray tell me why they should't fund the rebel.

I'd wager say Kiev is lucky Russia hasn't invaded the country yet because Russians are great chess players, and adding the basketcase in Ukraine will slow it down a bit.

3). Why did the Ukrainian air traffic control re-route the plane over a war-zone where everything flying in the sky has been shot down days before this sad tragedy, and also when they're aware that the rebel are in possession of BUK missile system, and they posted the video on youtube when they captured it?

It seems most of you want Europe to go back to the cold war era, when the whole continent was broke, and it had to depend on America and looting 3rd world countries to survive. You absolutely hate how Europe has prospered post-cold war...and how civil wars in Africa have reduced drastically. The defenseless separatists have been bringing planes down in the past week, may I ask how they are doing it? With catapults?
You want proof, why not ask the defenseless separatist that has been shooting and scaring away investigators allow them do their jobs.
That route is the usual route for that plane and not routed.
No one wants the Cold War, we should also not turn a blind eye to mass murder!

It requires a team of at least 4 men to fire accurately.

Russia supplied the separatists and they have been using it to bring down ukraine planes since last week,

They thought the MH17 was an Ukrainian cargo plane and shot it down.
The fire and control panel requires a highly trained and skilled technician to fire.
It’s possible that specialized Russian military personnel—"Spetsnaz"—were directly or indirectly involved with the crew that fired the missile.
