Potholes in the Path of Destiny

This is the Story: she had written two first bank test, one of each of skye bank, Bank PHB, Firstinland , ECOBANK , PZ and nestle. She didn’t pass any. She was lucky to secure a contract bank job through a popular agency( names withheld) but had to resign cos the boss wanted to sleep with her by all means and she cant complain cos she is on contract. By December 31st , 2007 , she almost drank poison out of depression and frustration but thank God for his mercy.


Life is a journey, along the way; you are bound to have diverse experiences. The good, the bad and the ugly, are just a few of such lessons you learn or fail. Suffering is a path of the learning process. Difficult and tough times are inevitable, to prepare you the great task of winning. There is no glorious life without a story. There is no victory without tempests. There is no destiny without potholes along the way. Often, there are mountains to climb, valleys to sink into, stumbling blocks to overcome, and pains to endure. But the result compensates for these daunting experiences.

Do you realize that God Almighty painstakingly put you in this world for a distant purpose? You are not just anybody. You are a priceless creation of a very big God. You are created to win against all odds. Whatever pains you are experiencing right now will either catapult you to the next level of growth or result in a downward slide to oblivion. Your attitude will be the referee in the context for survival. About that Girl, her runaway fiancé came back from Dubai this January 2008 and took her away to UAE to manage his businesses over there. I forgot to add that they have done their court and traditional wedlock long in 2005.

Folks, what is that mental and physical disability that has left you lying on the dust of misery? Low self esteem? Poverty, pains,heart-break, disappointment, shame, mistakes of the past, poor education, lack of human connections? A colleague of Nairaland wrote and passed every stage of a bank test but at the final stage( 9 mths after series of interviews, he was sent back because he just crossed the age gap which was during the stages of interview!! This man almost hung himself but with little encouragement and patience of 18 more mths, the Guy is now with MOBIL EKET, yes, it took him 4 yrs after NYSC!!( yours will never be that long in JESUS name). Knowing there is other possibility helps us to feel less trapped and more relieved. Where there are options, there is hope.

No one can deny the existence of adversity. But stumbling blocks in the path of destiny is bound to occur and can also be a driving force to significance. Your adversity can become the opportunity you need to make an indelible statement. Against all odds, you can overcome pains, poverty, disillusionment, confusion, frustration, discouragement, bereavement, abandonment, reproach, illiteracy, timidity, disgrace, loneliness, fear, harassment, disadvantage and eternal death.


Friends, you have the capability to overcome all the potholes that life thrusts your way. Victory lies ahead of you, if only you can look beyond your present pains to find purpose. Your trials can be transformed to your testimony. Never drown in the pool of life’s numerous challenges. That is a sure way to win against all odds. Don’t lose hope.

please, has anyone who wrote oceanic test of oct 18, at the HR office in Ozumba Mbadiwe been called for interview? i heard the result is out and people have been called. pls, someone should confirm this info cos all efforts to get in touch with their HR proved ineffective as they are not willing to release info. someone shd please douse all curosity. even those with an updated info on the test at obinze, owerri to share their views( my friend is dead worried already).

is their no way one can get reliable info? cos my friend wrote in owerri and i in Lagos, yet nothing from it till date. I believe oceanic bank should bring a format of notifying all those who sat for any of their test with updated info. abi?
