Sowore on the spotlight now. It's good to feel the heat but these are all DISTRACTIONS. If there's anything propagandists like, it's anything that distracts people from talking about them and their performance.

Tinubu is in the driver's seat, he is in power. It's not Sowore or Obi. Why are we not asking the President, Governors, Senators questions, eh are we asking people not in power? That's insane

Porn is doing extreme damage to our youth and adult. We will start seeing the effects soon, this one na small. Last week when the National Assembly proposed a bill to ban porn access on Nigeria, even if I know it can be for conservative reason it makes sense. We have not grown enough to control ourselves or regulate what is going on but people were forming woke, trying to fight for one right they don't have. Some years ago you would think that it's only India you will hear of this but with the way we are going, it will soon be unsafe for women, including full hijab wearing women, catholic nuns and old women to walk the streets freely. Don't think that everyone out there is okay and can control what their minds. The law is weak in Nigeria so it is open for people to explore their fantasies and degeneracy without repercussions. Unemployment is also high and it has given them more time to be the devil's workshop. Parenting today is at an all time low and gangs, cultism, gangsterism, money, rituals are promoted without filter. Most of our politicians in power have k-leg and are not good examples. Poverty is also high, poverty of the mind is high.
You think I'm making an empty threat? Just watch and see.

There is a video of one teenager sleeping with 5 guys and she's proud of it. I see Nigerians copying what porn producers abroad are doing and you know that anything Nigerians copy, they go to the extreme. We too de overdo. There is also a popular video where one protistitue has about 6 guys behind her in an attempt to imitate a popular porn production site. Nigerians think all they see from the abroad is real, they think the media is all real. They don't know the reality until they visit these countries and see the green screen these people use for their movies. If you are a parent and you have given your teenager a smartphone to use, just know that you don use your hand buy bad market. No internet site is interested in protecting your children. Porn is everywhere, even on children's platform. I know this from the work I do. Children who were not given phones in 2010 and are now adults thank their parents from saving them from the gore of the internet. Many young people and adults are not okay because of porn.

GistMedia0:
The case has sparked fresh concerns about child exploitation and online grooming, leading to calls for stricter measures to protect children from online predators.
This is not a Nigerian thing and I am not defenfing the man but when the social media companies let kids stay on their platforms anyone can fall prey.

It’s like the phone has become the new "parent" in many households, while real parental guidance is often overlooked or weakened by the constant distraction of screens and notifications. Parents today are indulging their kids, no one wants to parent anymore. We want the internet to do everything just because you can YouTube how to drive does not mean you can drive on the road from there. Parents now give their kids phones at a very young age, forgetting the wisdom of a TV box was to monitor what is on. Parents who could not cope then did not buy TV sets and their kids did not die. Parents back then too gave excuse that the world is moving on. Yes the world is moving on but you can never change what will be there for years, parents are there to guide children, nurture them and monitor them.

The real issue here is that the internet is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it connects us in ways that were unimaginable just a couple of decades ago, but on the other hand, it can expose vulnerable people, especially kids to serious dangers. Social media platforms often fail to create the kind of environment that truly protects kids, and it’s shocking how easily teenagers can bend the rules or hide their identities to engage with adults, sometimes without anyone noticing until it's too late.

The more complex issue is how teens can sometimes manipulate situations, like lying about their age, leading to false accusations and innocent people being caught in the process. While it’s important to tackle the predator side of the problem, it's just as crucial to look at the broader ecosystem, how social media, lack of accountability, and even parental neglect make it easy for kids to end up in dangerous situations. Parents, for sure, need to take a more hands-on role in educating their kids about the risks and holding them accountable online. But at the same time, tech companies need to step up their game to make sure kids can’t easily "game" the system.

RomanceRe: Are Tall Girls More Matured Or What by papyjaypaul: 5:08pm On May 13, 2025
Have you noticed women often say they want a man that is TALL, dark and handsome? Why do you think they chose height first? They want that protection even if it's just what it is, a tall guy. It's part of their DNA and hypergamy, women love protection and your height is one of it.

I mean, tall girls do have the advantage of literally seeing things from a higher/taller perspective, so they’ve probably got a clearer view of the bigger picture in life and relationships! 😆

First off, you’ve got to love the fact that they’re always above the drama cheesy. They’ve seen the height of it all, so they’ve got a pretty solid perspective on how to keep things calm. When life throws obstacles their way, they just step over them without heels, no problem. It's like they're built for emotional stability. Their shoes are already in their feet.

And don't get me started on their confidence! I mean, when you walk around with an extra few inches of height, you've got the altitude to feel top-notch. It’s no wonder they're more poised, like they've mastered the art of staying grounded while standing above everyone else. Height gives you confidence because you can see above small things. This is why women wear heels, even when they don't need to. If she can see your head as a guy, she can see where the nonsense you are spewing is coming from. You as the man will respect yourself before cappimg

But let's be real, shorter ladies might be dynamite in their own right, bringing the sass and spark probably because they are closer to the ground but for tall ladies, they might just be holding the emotional manual for how to navigate relationships with grace... and an extra legroom for flexibility. If you mess too much with her, she will give you a long jump kick. Don't mess with their hearts legs. wink

TV/MoviesRe: What Exactly Is The FCCPC’s Role In A Free Market? by papyjaypaul: 4:43pm On May 13, 2025
FCCPC was formerly CPC, Consumer Protection Council. What is a free market? A market to freely abuse consumers or exploit them? There is no free market anywhere, even in Freetown. USA where it seems there is free market is not free. The CEO of Open AI was in Congress a few days ago begging the legislators to allow OpenAi use copyrighted materials for their ML/LLM. You need a FCCPC to protect consumers from abuse or else, the companies will have a free weigh abusing us anyhow.

Amazon started putting a notice for products that had tariffs on them. The White House challenged them. Ticketmaster was exposed last year after the Federal Trade Commission announced that all ticket prices must reveal total costs, including hidden charges so what's the OP talking about?

Why is ot that Arts students don't always compete for the best students even when they study simpler subjects?
papyjaypaul:
I see that the issue isn't so much about the difficulty of subjects, but about perceptions about what constitutes "value" and "success."

Arts subjects like literature, history, philosophy, or fine arts engage with human experience, critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and creative expression. These are not always quantifiable and valued in the beginning, and so they’re often perceived as "easier" simply because they don’t always involve rigid structures like formulas or problem sets. Who cannot draw? Who cannot write a poem?

In many education systems, the "best students" are steered toward fields like medicine, engineering, or finance because these are seen as paths to clear, prestigious careers. Arts students, by contrast, often have to carve their own paths. That takes a different kind of courage and intelligence, one rooted in introspection, communication, and adaptability. It's a different kind of intelligence.

The truth is, the Arts don’t lack competition or depth. They often attract students who are passionate, reflective, and curious, but perhaps not always the ones who fit traditional metrics of academic "achievement." The best minds in Arts think in complex, layered ways, but that brilliance may not always be visible on a transcript.

So the question isn’t really about Arts being "simpler." It’s about rethinking what we value in education and recognizing that intellectual rigor comes in many forms, not just those with numbers and right answers.

At the end of the day, the engineer builds a world class stadium that can only be enjoyed by the creativity and atristry of footballers. When he is tired, he goes to a comedy show to enjoy the art of a funny guy wink

We need each other.

PoliticsRe: Saudi Woman Extends Hand To Trump For Handshake But Here In Nigeria, It's A No by papyjaypaul: 2:09pm On May 13, 2025
It's the handshake that is your problem abi?

What we need to understand is that Islam is practiced across a wide range of cultures, and what’s seen in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Indonesia, or Nigeria may differ in certain social behaviors while still being rooted in the same faith. A handshake, especially in formal or diplomatic settings, doesn’t automatically reflect the depth of someone's religious belief or lack thereof.

We do ourselves a disservice when we reduce faith to gestures alone. People live their values in many ways, through honesty, compassion, justice, and humility not just by whether or not they shake hands.

In Saudi Arabia, for instance, while many do hold conservative views, there’s also a recognition of diplomatic protocol and international etiquette, especially when dealing with heads of state. So a handshake in that context isn't necessarily a deviation from faith; it's often seen as a form of respect or obligation in formal settings. Saudi Arabia just allowed women in their Stadiums, that's nothing new in Kano where women have been watching Kano Pillars play for a long time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko5OaXF9jBQ&pp=ygUbV29tZW4gd2F0Y2hpbmcga2FubyBwaWxsYXJz

In Nigeria, especially in northern regions, cultural norms often reinforce a stricter interpretation of religious practices. That doesn’t make one “more Islamic” than the other. It just reflects how religious expression adapts to societal values. In this video below, the Sultan even bowed to the Queen and shook hands with her. It's not something Muslims do normally.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJETKe4xYes&pp=0gcJCdgAo7VqN5tD

So, it's less about who knows Islam better and more about how communities choose to live their faith within their cultural frameworks.

RomanceRe: 7 Wrong Places Young Men Look For A Wife By Elonaires by papyjaypaul: 11:20am On May 13, 2025
pansophist:
The best way to get a wife is through referral (AKA arranged marriage).

Let someone you know, that you trust, and have your best interest at heart help you search for a wife. If you choose a wife yourself, you are more likely to choose base on wrong reasons.

A woman that you find attractive can easily pass as a good wife. Especially when she knows you want a wife, and she may act as a camouflage of a good wife-to-be.

With referral, there is something called ''third-party accountability''.The referral has a sense of accountability to the outcome of your union, and it is in his best interest for the the relationship to work.

Also, referrers can see things objectively, they know you, and your potential wife, and can vouch for the suitability of both parties. A referrers will not look for a wife through social media for you.

It most likely will be a girl they have known for long, and everyone knows who she is. So you will have no fear if you are marrying a repentant public property. Referral by design will filter the rubbishes out.

The area that you might have to compromise on is on attraction, because a referred wife might not make your preek stand

But in the end, we will all settle. It is up to you if you want a beautiful marriage, or a warzone because you married a lady with a big behind.
This is the way it uses to be until the West poisoned us with fairy tales of Beauty choosing her Beast. It's not 100% the best way but it was a very good way of bringing families together. Today, people want to do it all alone and since they have gone it all alone, they can now see the effect today. On social media, you will notice how people ask the same questions, "don't you have elders in your family?"
People have abandoned family today and they are listening to social media advice.

The Indians are still keeping this practice and you must have seen it in some of their movies where a child brings a guy home and the family rejects it. It is because they don't know him. However, the dangers of family choosing for sons and daughters is INTERFERENCE. It doesn't allow the kids grow up quickly because the families are too involved, this ironically is also shown in Indian soap operas where families live together. A man must know how to create his own family and if he is not trained to be his own man, he will be the baby of the house.

Let's end with the positive. Women don't know they are putting themselves in serious danger if they marry a man you cannot report. He has to have someone in his family he can listen to, otherwise, he will manipulate you and hurt you if given the chance.
