Objectivist04: But when you Yorubas are posting pictures of malnurished Biafra children during the war , it was ok right. You guys started it and you have to live by it
They were starved to death by Gowon who was honoured few days ago.
No Igbo man will ever become the president of Nigeria
floss: My slaves are really funny tribe, they’re picking fights with South East (Peter obi), I really want to see a thread that my slaves will have the effrontery to talk back to my tribe, they know they can’t. They’ll rather take the fight to south east.
Why so much begging in Ibadan?? You cant go to ShopRite at Challenge area, and not have up to 10/15 people begging and begging.
You go to Agodi Park, so dry... Mallams eating spaghetti and yams...
Look at the disaster that happened recently where 35 kids died, if not because of hunger, how can families be sleeping overnight at venue because of little 5K.
So what is the VAT and IGR about??
Stop churning out lies. If the people are hungry, what is the use of VAT and IGR?
All these occultic politicians, remember you only live on this earth once, when you die, occult, money or riches cannot save you.
You should be more concern about the poverty level in Enugu and Ebonyi
Aboki99: 1.) Obajana, one of Dangote's cement factories based in Kogi State, is the biggest cement company in Nigeria, nay Africa.
However, all VAT payabale from Obajana (which sells the bulk of its cement products in the North) are captured under Lagos because the parent Dangote Cement Company Plc was REGISTERED in Lagos.
2. ) Savannah Sugar Company based in Numan, Adamawa state, is the biggest cement maker (not processor). It converts raw sugarcane planted, grown and cultivated in Adamawa, Yobe, Taraba, Jigawa etc into final-user sugar.
However, simply because Dangote Sugar Plc was REGISTERED in Lagos, all the value added (planting, growing and cultivation of sugarcane etc) tax (VAT) that Savannah Sugar Company, Numan pays are recorded for Lagos.
These are just two examples of how Lagos SHORTCHANGE other states.
Yet Tinubu wants to increase the share of LAGOS's VAT because he thinks northerners are stupid and cant understand elementary economics of VAT.
Akpabio said people like you who don't understand the tax reform bills are the loudest.
A lot of you guys against the tax reform bills are just so dull. The tax reform bills will put an end to this mess you're talking about but dull people like you that don't understand the bill are against it
Thank God the "slow" people like you are in the minority.
ibabz: Why is everyone fixated on TAX reform while ignoring resource control, which seems far fairer? Is it because Lagos generates more taxes and earns the lowest? Lagos keeps only 17.90% of the taxes it generates, but what about Delta State, Nigeria's richest oil state—how much does it truly earn from the sales of the crude oil mined from the state?
In this post, I tried to highlight the dynamics of resource control and tax reform by examining Lagos State, Nigeria's highest tax contributor, and Delta State, the richest oil-producing state.
1. Overview of Lagos State • Economic Profile: o Lagos is Nigeria’s commercial and financial hub, contributing over 50% of Nigeria’s non-oil GDP. o The state generates significant revenue through taxes, including Value Added Tax (VAT), corporate taxes, and personal income taxes. • Tax Contribution: o Lagos generates a substantial percentage of Nigeria’s total tax revenue. Lagos contributed over 55% of VAT collected nationwide. o Retains only about 17.90% of the taxes it generates, with the rest redistributed to other states through the federal government.
2. Overview of Delta State • Economic Profile: o Delta is one of Nigeria’s richest oil-producing states, contributing significantly to the country’s crude oil output. o Oil accounts for the bulk of the state’s revenue, derived primarily from federal allocations tied to oil revenue. • Resource Control and Revenue: o Under the current fiscal system, oil-producing states receive 13% derivation from the revenue generated by crude oil within their borders. o Delta's allocation is substantial but does not reflect the full value of the resources extracted, raising concerns over equity.
Who stop Jonathan from working towards resource control when he was the president?
Did Tinubu promise you he wants to work on how oil money is shared among the federating unit?
pazienza: The SW proponents of VAT Reform want everyone to believe that it's all about equity and fairness. But we know that Nigeria's main source of revenue is Crude oil and Gas, so if you are going to reform the VAT because you want equity, why not start from the bigger elephant of injustice in the room which is crude oil and Gas? Why not go back to 100% derivation for oil and gas for producing states? Oh let me get it, that arrangement doesn't favour Lagos and SW except Ondo?
Do you lots from SW take everyone in Nigeria to be stupid?
Jonathan should have done it when he was there. Let Tinubu do the things he promised to do, if someone else get there in 2031, he can work on how oil money is distributed.
mipeesoft: Mind you obedient don't support trash, that's why you won't see drug peddlers or drug baron and corrupt governors like yaya Bello in obedient movement.
Kaa4: Imagine the FRSC asking and enforcing car owners to replace fading plate numbers that was originally procured from them.
Instead of apologising for producing poor quality products, they making making Nigerians to pay for their deficiency.
One suggested I should be washing the plate number with LUX soap
There's a day I had to bribe the ones at 7up in Lagos because they were delaying me and I don't want to get late to where am heading to. And it's this issue you're talking about that caused it, I was so shock
Jorussia: Tinubu didn't remove pms subsidy. There was no provision for it in the budget of 2023.There was nothing he did at inauguration that was bad.Infact, if he had not make that announcement on that day,i can assure there wouldnt have dangote and PH refinery in operation today. The problem of the high energy price today has nothing to do with the removal of pms subsidy, its a failure of the fx rate.If fx is #700 today, pms can't sell for more than #420 in any part of the country.
The Economic policy of this administration that is currently failing is the management of fx.May be when they finally hit 2m barrels of crude oil per day sometime around March next year, the government may decide to defend the naira.#1500 fx does not have any benefit for Nigeria and Nigerians.Any fx more than #700 is going erode any imaginary economic gains.
yemmit90: Lolz, i wonder what you people take government for. A single call from president or even this wike can send him to prison.
Don't under estimate the power of government. Even a whole chief of army staff cannot offend president and get away with it, let alone a mere major-general.
A lot of Nigerians only cry when illegality does not go in their favour
back2sender: Nothing will happen. Wike is chewing more than he can swallow. How can he take away the land of the first cadet 001 of the NDA n give it to his cronies n expect the military to be happy.
Any opportunity the military sees they will use it against the agberos
How do you guys comfortably make this kind of comment? all because you hate Wike
ogascomax: This is the new world order that they want to force people to accept because of the lies of climate change. Fossil fuel has come to stay and nobody will stop that. Wokeness all the name of propaganda and lies will not work. California is one of the worst place to live in USA because of so much unfriendly laws.
Climate change is real Boss. I support this law, let's see if Trump will truly revoke it
Bonapart: California is the wokest and most devilish state on earth. All evil and deep states began from there. They lead in LGBT stupidity including child sexual rubbish
California economy is the largest in the USA. California nah Baba 🙌
