its good to say the map covers everywhere, but when the car is stolen and taken to a place where you dont have the street map, how will you tell the owner where the car is? Its great to have a system, but its also great to tell the truth about the limitations of the system, once again i ask you, how many cities do you have the street maps on this system, not just major roads but street level maps, how many cities?

Your statement may be partially true, but the project above is not about GPS navigation, it is only about providing controls for better GPS position accuracy. Just like establishing geodetic control stations or first order control stations if you may say.

Yes, it can! That is the main reason behind establishing such geodetic control points. Usually, GPS real time values are obscured deliberately not to provide precision and high accuracy figures, but with the establishment of these type of geodetic controls, such values are increased, even to sub metre accuracy. This is the same as establishing the WAAS= which is called the Wide Area Augmentation Scheme, which are basically a number of ground controls established to provide GPS signal corrections, thus giving even better position accuracy. These WAAS is not all over the world, hence the reason why local WAAS station like these are necessary for high precision GPS signal correction.

The problem with this project is that it is too hyped, it is a very worthwhile venture, as most controls in Lagos are outdated and doesnt fit the requirememnts of these days technology, but the hype is just too much, and some of the statements made by the madam are professionally questionalble!

How will the control stations establish technology? It can only complement technology, what does it have to do with the Lagos Mega City? Apart from providing a strong reference station for surveys  and engineering work, i dont see how much these will affect the city. Road congestion? How? I dont know.

It is a state project, I dont know why someone will think it is a private project.
