Yes, I agree with you. Some things were definitely wrong with the movie: plot holes, editing, characterisation and the cgi. But the reason why we are beefing with the critics is because they want D.C to use Marvel's approach, which doesn't make sense since they are two different companies.

The sheer number of critics giving this movie a thumbs down suggests that there is something truly wrong somewhere in the movie. the problem with arguing with a hard-core fan is that they can't comprehend. Nobody cares about how much bvs makes in its opening days, the end game is that it achieves the 1 billion objective, at least in the business side of things it was successful. I didn't enjoy age of extinction because it didn't live up to the hype but that doesn't mean I didn't see the movie. I have never said that BvS is bad because I haven't seen it yet, I'm just going by the overwhelming negative reviews on the movie, I'm not going to hate on the movie because I don't gain anything from that. You should stop shouting about the box office here and focus on the movie, it's not like you will get a kobo from WB. Age of extinction made a billion dollars in the box office but it was panned by critics. MoS received mixed reviews and still made $668m in the box office. Bvs tickets was sold out before the release of the movie so why won't it make $400m in 3 days? But does that mean that the movie isn't average according critics and audiences alike? BvS opened in many countries so why wouldn't it make money? We are talking about the movie here and not the money it's making. You can't tell me that over hundreds of critics giving this movie negative are all wrong, something must be definitely wrong with the movie whether you like it or not. While I'd like to point out to you that there are still a lot of critics that gave positive reviews, Lets imagine if ALL movie critics rated the movie as crap and it still passed the $1b mark, who would lose credibility...Is it the audience or critics?

Criticisms are what they are, criticisms and most time can be exaggerated or just made to join the bandwagon of bad reviews. I'd say that the movie making it big is testament to the fact that the critics are in fact, wrong.

Oga there are movies that have negative reviews but financially successful, it's all about the appeal before the movie is released, like I previously mentioned, transformers age of extinction made over a billion in the box office but had negative reviews. There are also movies with positive reviews but bad box office performances.

Criticisms are what they are indeed and when a movie is bad or average, it receives negative reviews. Mind you most audience polls gave the movie a "B" grade which is average. What more do you want? When fantastic four was being slammed left and right last year by critics, I didn't see anybody calling them biased and one sided so why is it that now you guys seem to ridicule critics because it didn't favor BvS? Thirdly, when dean was about to take the MOC, cain told him that the mark came with a price. Why then did Dean not refuse it considering all he had seen through out all his life. He should have known that the mark would come at a high price yet Dean, a very self rightous character decieded to take the mark. Doesnt this fall out of line from the dean we know ?
Remeber way back in season 5 when he travelled to the future and saw what the consequence of not allow mic to posses him would lead to, yet he said no that there must be another way. The reason he took the mark is simply because it alongside the blade was capable of killing abbadon. He didn't have a choice here. In season 2 Dean despite knowing that he will go to hell, sold his soul for his brother so accepting the mark of Cain and dealing with the consequences is typical Dean. Besides in that season 5, if not that Sam, Cass and Bobby stopped him, he could have said yes because he believed Michael was the only one that could defeat the devil despite millions of people dying.

Secondly, how come only the first blade can kill Abaddon ? Whereas a multitude of things can kill an angel? Does it mean that Abaddon is more powerful than an angel ?

An angel blade is a much older weapon that can kill almost anything, so why not Abaddon ? Why didnt they (s&d) even try to use it ?

I don't understand your first question but I will answer your second question. The only thing that can kill an angel is their sword and archangels. Abbadon was a knight of hell created by Cain himself for the devil but then he realized that they were deadly and decided to get rid of them which he did safe for one, Abbadon who possessed the one he loved which made him hesitate and by the time he plunged the blade into her, Abbadon escaped. The only thing that can kill a knight of hell is that blade and since Cain is much stronger than most angels and demons, his products will be harder to kill. Just like a soul eater is hard to kill or the four horsemen who can be killed by death's scythe only, a knight of hell can only be killed by Cain's blade and that's how Dean killed her.

Finally when you consider the overall package of movies, there is no one that delivers a 100% in all aspects aka The perfect movie. Many would argue with you that Snyder was good or other BvS actors played their roles perfectly.

Now surely you can't tell me that all these critics are haters or are biased against the movie. Man of Steel's budget was $225m and bvs is over $250m.

It's called bandwagon effect, dude. It became fashionable for people to rubbish the movie after the first set of reviews. It's like everyone was waiting to write something nasty about the movie. Now, that explains the poor correlation between reviews and the audience. I am am academic reviewer myself and I have reviewed several papers and thesis. I can tell when reviews are biased. The first rule in reviewing is that you must never attack the author/director but the methods. This rule was broken by many reviewers in the case of BvS.

It doesn't work that way, movies either get a critical acclaim, a generally positive review, a positive review, a mixed review, mixed to positive/negative, a negative review or a generally negative review as was the case of the last fantastic four movie. Movie critics do not base their reviews on another, they base their reviews upon seeing the movie. If you check, amidst all the negative reviews, there are also positive reviews. Now if there are positive reviews then the bandwagon effect is non existent because even if the movie has an overwhelming negative reviews, there is still positive reviews going around.

About the comparison between the positive audience and the negative critics, you know people go to see a movie because of certain things. Me for example will see this movie because of the fight between batman and supes, maybe how they fight doomsday and I'm very sure many folks who have seen/are going to see the movie are also going/went to because of one thing or another. Some want to see how Affleck nailed it as batman, some want to see Gadot as wonder woman, some want to see psycho Lex while some want to see the relationship between Clark and Lois, etc. If you read the comments when a new trailer is released you will see that people want to see different things about the movie. Financially, this movie should make a billion dollars because of its budget and it's depending on people who are interested in seeing batman and superman on the big screen. There are movies with negative reviews which end up being financially successful, still doesn't make it a decent movie/movies. There are also movies with positive reviews but disappointing box office outings.

Finally if you attack the methods of a director or an author you are indirectly attacking the director or author. If the methods of Zack Synder are under intense criticism then the man himself is also under criticism, e.g in football, if the methods of a coach isn't yielding results, the coach gets the sack because the methods are from him and no one else. You can't question the method of directing used by Snyder without questioning the man, it simply doesn't make an iota of sense. Zack synder nails it in visuals, 300, the watchmen, MoS and BvS are proof of that but it's the overall package that matters.

I think WB should look for another director for JL because right now the criticism of this movie is coming from Zack Synder's work as a director. As for me, I will still see the movie, just not so soon.
