TEXT PRESS STATEMENT MADE BY THE PRESIDENT-GENERAL OF AWGBU PROGRESS UNION, EMMANUEL AKIDI ON THE GRUESOME ATTACK ON AWGBU TOWN ON THURSDAY 18TH DAY OF MAY 2023 1. Gentlemen of the press, I thank you for being here on short notice. 2. As you are aware, Awgbu town was attacked last Thursday leading to the death of five of our indigenes and the loss of properties valued at over N10,000,000. 3. On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 17, 2023, a commercial tricycle(Keke) was chased into Awgbu town through Amaokpala by some commercial motorcyclist who claimed that they were armed robbers and heard fired series of gunshots in that axis 4. A large crowd had gathered to join those who chased them into the town. In the ensuing melee, three of the occupants were caught. The Awgbu Vigilante service was able to rescue one of them and promptly handed him over to the police. 5. The crowd, which had become uncontrollable at this time, took the other two to the boundary of Awgbu-Agulu and executed them. 6. Unfortunately, on Thursday, May 18, 2023, Awgbu was attacked by some hoodlums riding in keke, whom eyewitnesses say came from Awka axis. The hoodlums set the market on fire and shot four persons dead and burnt one in his shop. 7. There are suggestions that the Thursday night attack is linked to Tuesday's incident and that the attackers were on a reprisal. 8. This attack has no political connotation as erroneously reported by the Vanguard Newspaper and we plead with the Vanguard reporter to do his independent investigation and put out the correct information. Awgbu is in mourning and does not need any other external provocation. 9. We urge the Anambra State Police command to get to the roots of this matter and ensure that the culprits are made to face the wrath of the law and give justice to the families of those killed. 10. We plead with the Anambra state government to come to the aid of those killed and those who lost their properties in the arson in the market by compensating the victims. 11. May the soul of our departed brothers rest in Peace. Hon. Emmanuel Akidi PG, Awgbu town. |

*Opinion: Federal High Court Kano Judgement. A case of Judicial rascality. * By Paschal Candle. On Friday 19th May, the media space was awashed with reports that a Federal High Court sitting in Kano, presided over by Justice M N Yunusa has nullified the candidature of the Abia State Governor-elect Dr Alex Otti and all the candidates of the Labour Party in Abia and Kano States. The Court in Suit No FHC/KN/CS/107/2023 filed by Mr Ibrahim Haruna Ibrahim against the Labour Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, ruled that the failure of the Labour Party to submit its membership register to the INEC within 30 days before their primaries renders the process invalid. First, who is Hon Justice M N Yunusa. It is only when you know the man in the centre of the Storm, then you will know why He is always on the news. In 2016, National Judicial Council, NJC, fired Justice Moh’d Yunusa for high #JudicialMisconduct, like collecting money anyhow. 5 yrs later (2 yrs ago) he was recalled in questionable circumstances. Today, he is back doing impressive things as he alone can! Hence this very one. I am not a Lawyer. However, Having participated in many Electoral cases since 2003 till date. I believe I have the common knowledge of the legal proceedings. Seeing the judgment, I have really questioned the rationale behind the judgement and also reasonableness of the entire suit in the first place. According to my findings, the suit was filed and unusually concluded within 7days as the Originating Process is dated 11th May, while judgement delivered 18th May. What a wonderful Court process. To me, Justice Yunusa is not acting alone. This is the length our Judiciary has gone to. Justice Yunusa is just out to make caricature of the entire judiciary. First, The Federal High Court, Kano state court lacks jurisdiction to entertain primary election held in Abia state or anyother state in Nigeria except in Kano State if such case was filed on time. The case was filed on 11th May and on 19th judgement was given. What a court. Justice Yunusa is just a product of Quota system. No right thinking Judge should entertain this kind of case at this time. Moreover, the case is status barred. It is dead on arrival. The Judge ought to know this. The first question for the Judge, when was the Primary Election conducted? When did INEC Published the first list of Candidates for the Election? Where were all these Charlatans when the list was published. The course of action in this kind of Matter starts from the day INEC Published the List. And when the list is published, it is only an Aspirant who took part in the primary election of his party that has the locus to challenge the outcome of the Primary. In this instant case, it is a Pre-election matter. If the plaintiff is not satisfied with the outcome of the Labour Party Primary, he should have approached the court since last year October, if at he is an Aspirant in that Primary. However, a close study of the CTC of the Court Judgement showed that what is being circulated on social media is fake as it regards to Abia State and The Court sacking Alex Otti. The judgement excluded Abia State Governor-Elect and other Candidates for the election. If the Justice Yunusa wants to deliver this kind of Judgement, he ought to have heard from other parties in the firstplace. You cannot shave a man’s head in his absence. It is against the Law of Natural justice. Even God that knows all, still give man a chance to be heard when his wife ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. One thing everyone unbiased mind should know is that This Judgement has nothing to do with Alex Otti as Governor-Elect. Alex Otti will be sworn in as Governor of Abia State. Nomination of Candidates for an election is a pre-election matter. Note that The prayer to nullify Abia Guber primary of Labour Party was expressly refused by the Justice YUNUSA J., as can be seen in the above except from the enrolled order that was issued pursuant to the judgment. From my findings, I can conclude with due respect Justice Yunusa, this suit is an incompetent suit. The judgment or ruling was made without jurisdiction. *Nigeria LawMakers are becoming Bunch of Jesters:* Yesterday, I saw one of the most ridiculous Bills being proposed by the current National Assembly of Nigeria. These Lawmakers are becoming bunch of jesters. A proposed bill set to be passed at the national assembly to keep graduate doctors in the country for five years before traveling out. This Bill ought to have been killed at the First reading. It ought to have been thrown out. Why should Nigeria Lawmakers consider this kind of Bill in the first place. Are you proposing this Bill on what grounds? On the grounds that Nigeria Government or National Assembly are the ones paying all the school fees of these Medical students? Are you proposing this Bill on the grounds that throughout these Students stay in the Universities, there were no ASUU Strike? That their Lecturers were being paid well? The non-academic Staff in the Universities were being taken care of? Or that they enjoy free meal, free Transport from Government. To me, what the National Assembly should be considering is to pass a Bill into Law within one month. “I think they should pass a bill… that all politicians or Public office Holders in Nigeria should stay in Nigeria for their medical treatment.” Since their treatments and payments are being taken care of from Government Money. This is what they should propose and pass into law. In that Bill, they should make it a capital Punishment if any Politician disobey that law. ~ Paschal Candle. |
*Just In:* _*South East Young Progressives Forum berates Fani Femi-Kayode over hate speech against Igbos during electoral season._* -*…Stands With Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu Speech in Awka._* *_..Ask UK and United States to Place him on Visa Ban.*_ *_..Fani Kayode’s utterances is against the Vision and Mission of APC._* March 30,2023. Awka- The National Convener of South East APC Young Progressives Forum, Comrade Otimkpu Paschal has berated the flippant and loquacious spokesman of the New Media of All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode over his inflammatory remarks he made during the electoral season against Igbo people of South East and South South Resident in Lagos.: While speaking during in an interactive session with some selected Journalists on Wednesday in Awka Anambra State, the National Convener and Coordinator of the Group, Comrade Otimkpu Paschal faulted the APC presidential campaign council’s director of new media Fani Femi Kayode for making derogatory remarks against The Igbo Race. Yes, we are Members of APC. In fact, foundation Members of the Party since its formation. However, before becoming Members of APC, we are Igbo people by Tribe. We love our Tribe and people. We are proud of who we are. We will not because of being in the same Party, allow people who has no character and Integrity to insult the sensibility of Our People because of their Political choices which they believed served their interest during the election. “Igbo people have the right to choose and vote who they want. Election is all about choices. Some of us voted Aswiaju Bola Tinubu against Our Brother, Mr Peter Obi. Nobody has called for our head. It is our Choice and nobody in Igboland can come out here to insult us for being in APC.” “Yes, let’s be specific, during this election there were some people, like Femi Fani-Kayode, I believe some of you must have read what he is saying and why is he saying it? This is something we do not understand. So is it not Election again? “It is wrong from our perspective and understanding of Election in this modern time that he will be allowed to speak on behalf of Our party and Our Candidate and that party does not distance itself from him and caution him from saying that or doing that. What FFK said against Ndi Igbo is totally unacceptable. It is wrong to say that,” Comrade Otimkpu Paschal said. Comrade Otimkpu Paschal queried Fani Kayode’s utterances, which he said it is against the Vision and Mission of APC. It is against what APC stand for. We call on our Party to call him to order. We sincerely believe he is against our Party. We want to state it clearly FFK is not in-law to Ndi Igbo as he alleged. He never legally married our sister and daughter nor paid her bride price. So he should stop saying he is our in-law to Ndi Igbo. You have no character and integrity. If you are in-law to Ndi Igbo, you should behave like one. Nothing would have brought you and many of us in APC here together. If not Politics and APC. We are questioning our Party and its reward system. This is the same FFK that held different Press Conference demarketing APC and even Bola Tinubu. It is on record that FFK in Television Programme said Aswiaju Bola Tinubu will never rule Nigeria. That as long there is God in heaven. The same FFK also said in a press conference that Aswiaju Bola Tinubu took Osibanjo to shrine where he Osibanjo swore to resign as Vice President and Bola Tinubu will take over. The same FFK pitched APC against Nigeria People with all manners of false propagandas against President Buhari, APC and Tinubu. Today, he is pretending to like APC and Bola Tinubu more than anyone else. Such a character cannot be trusted. As a group, we stand firmly with Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu on what he said in Awka Anambra State. Party or No Party, we will not sit and watch our people butchered most especially in Lagos because of Political Choices they made by some Political rascals. We are calling on The British Government and United States Government to place this loquacious FFK on visa ban and other people undermining democracy and promoting violence against Igbo People. The statement concluded. |

_*Chimaraoke Nnamani: The True Colour of ungrateful fellow.*_ By Paschal Candle. Senator Chimaraoke Nnamani, it is very clear that you are the most ungrateful human being on earth. For sometimes now, I follow your tweets and I have refused to join issues with you. You have been blaming everyone for your Senatorial election. The only person you have not blamed is Yourself. Last week, you accused Mr Peter Obi of all sort of things and how he made you lose the senator re-run. Today, you have shifted your frustration to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. You are now accusing him of betraying you. He worked against your Re-election, because you would have become Senate President if you had won. I make bold to ask, which Senate President. Is it Nkanu Senate President or Enugu Senate President. APC has majority in the senate and President-Elect is of APC. You are of PDP and minority. So how will you become senate President? Senator Nnamani had been groaning since Kelvin Chukwu defeated him, aiming missiles against Peter obi and now Ugwuanyi. Below are some of his tweets on Sunday morning, alleging betrayal by Ugwuanyi. “Peter MBA’s betrayal is one more betrayal too many. I have difficulty processing it. I must confess #Chimaroke.” “And those who keep quiet in the face of injustice will reap it’s (sic) whirlwind! #Chimaroke.” “Betrayal in all things have (sic) the same Universal ending!” “A Governor who looses (sic) his polling booth twice is an epitome of SHAME! #Chimaroke.” ”Limitless boundaries of Indoctrination! A new paradigm! Election rigging without structure! Just transferring filtered polling results figures #Chimaroke.” “Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; / Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, / The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere / The ceremony of innocence is drowned; / The best lack all conviction, while the worst / Are full of passionate intensity.” WB Yeats #Chimaroke.” Before the above baseless tweets from a frustrated Politician. This is what he has to say about Ugwuanyi. Recall that Ugwuanyi brought Nnamani back to the political limelight, a gesture he acknowledged and praised his governor for in the past. Narrating his experience after he had left office as governor, Nnamani, in one of his campaign tours recalled how Ugwuanyi brought him back to the political limelight and ensured that he returned to the Senate. “It is because of the mandate given to me that I am here. When I came to campaign here, I did not know that it would take 15 years for me to be here again. *“For me, if every door is closed, one looks for a key. When darkness is everywhere, nobody knows who will bring the light and open the door.* “It is Ifeanyi Nwa Ugwuanyi, Udulekenyi 1 of Orba, that brought the light, the key and opened the door. *“He (Ugwuanyi) is not from Nkanu; he is from Udenu. This showed that indeed, “Nwanne Di na mba”, Nnamani had said.* He later on announced that Ugwuanyi was now his leader and that of the Ebeano political dynasty. I would have have expected Senator Nnamani to be humble in defeat. With all these tweet missiles coming from Senator Nnamani, it is very obvious that he is one of the problems of PDP and Leadership in Enugu State. He is among those selfish Igbo Leaders who believed that if it is not me. It will not be anyone else. Senator Nnamani should be grateful to Governor Ugwuanyi for reviving his life and brining him back to limelight even when such decision was not accepted by some PDP Leaders in Enugu State. The reason why PDP lost Enugu State is because of Nnamani and his dictatorial tendencies in PDP. Most of the Labour Party Chieftain today were strong PDP members who worked and delivered PDP in Enugu State, before Governor Ugwuanyi brought Nnamani back to the Party and made him Leader. NIGERIAN ENVOY CALLS FOR RESTRUCTURING OF AFRICA'S POLITICAL PROCESS. The Nigerian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Burundi, His Excellency, Ambassador Elijah Onyeagba PhD, has called on Africa's political and democratic players to develop standard templates for democratic governance across the region which will meet the peculiarities of Africa's political system. Speaking in Getiga at an event organised by the ruling Party of Burundi, CNDD-FDD for the Women’s League of the party, Amb Elijah Onyeagba who represented the leadership of Nigeria's ruling political party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), corrected the view held by some Africans advocating for the adoption of the western style of politics; saying that what worked for the democratic process in the western world will not necessarily work in the African democratic circle. He argued that ''Western style multi party democracy is good for the Westerners and Europeans but not so suitable for Africa." He explained that in the Western style of democracy, decisions are taken by majority voters with its advantages of transparency, speed and efficiency; but it always ignores the views of the minority while the African ideal states that "I am because we are." The "we" denotes the community, rather than "I am because I am" of the western world. He advised African policy makers that in developing a system of democratic governance in Africa, political players should concentrate their forces in developing a template which will not only accommodate votes and views of the majority but also accommodate the views of the minority in decision making and governance. He recalled that the histories of different African civil wars emanated from the dissatisfaction of certain tribes who were marginalized, excluded or ignored in governance and leadership of their individual countries. He commended the Republic of Burundi for its unique Executive and Parliamentary system.

MY ACCEPTANCE SPEECH ON THE OCCASION OF MY DECLARATION AS GOVERNOR ELECT OF ABIA STATE My fellow Abians, it gives me great pleasure this evening to address you, following the final announcement of the results of the gubernatorial elections conducted across the state last Saturday, March 18, 2023. With deep humility and a profound sense of responsibility, I wholeheartedly accept your mandate to be your chief servant for the next 4 years. Before I go on, I must first dedicate this victory to God the Father Almighty, who makes everything beautiful in His own time. I also dedicate it to the millions of Abia citizens who have been the unfortunate victims of bad governance these past decades. As I acknowledge this victory, I am fully conscious of the huge expectations of millions of the good people of Abia, who have been denied the dividends of democracy and good governance for such a long time. I want to sincerely thank every Abian and non-indigene alike who participated in this election. As you are all aware, this was my third attempt at contesting for this office, in my quest to implement my long-held vision of rebuilding Abia state as truly God’s own state. At this third attempt, it pleased God to give us victory. In the words of one Labour Party stalwart, ‘The Siege Is Over’! With our votes and the collective will of the people, we have “broken the gates of hell and cast its bars of iron asunder”. As recorded in the holy book, the kingdom of hell shall not prevail against us. I would like to quickly compliment my colleagues in the just-concluded elections, Chief Sir Okechukwu Ahiwe, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, Prof Gregory Ibe, and a host of other equally qualified governorship candidates. It has been a hard-fought contest and each of you gave his or her best in the quest to serve our beloved State. There is no doubt that all of us have very robust ideas as to how to move our dear State forward. I want to assure you that your ideas and dreams that are consistent with building a virile Abia state shall come to fruition under my watch. I therefore invite all of you to join hands with our administration in order to serve Abians who have been victims of several years of maladministration and state capture. I have no doubt that you will be available to use the same energy and intellect, to help rebuild our state and develop our people. Of particular mention are the Candidates that have publicly conceded defeat and congratulated us, even when the battle of Obingwa fictitious votes was still raging. These include Prof. Greg Ibe, Bishop Sunday Onuoha, Bishop Emeka Nwankpa, Chief Bond Ohuche, Chief Chibuike Jonas, amongst others. It is well with all of you. I want to thank the young and energetic Deputy Governor-elect, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu who is going to be carrying the burden of governance with me. I also want to thank my Campaign team led by Hon. Acho Obioma and various support and volunteers groups who worked tirelessly to make today possible. You are simply the best hands any candidate can find! Your creative ideas and dedication to our common goal were unprecedented. I must not fail to thank the leadership and members of Labour Party, who worked very hard to ensure that this day would come. I thank all those who worked with me through moments of despair and hope, through tears, sweat and blood, through betrayals, denials and dangers untold. It is said that the harder the struggle, the sweeter the victory. Please savour the sweetness of your hard work and firm belief. I must give special thanks to my best friend, my confidant, my number one fan, my heartbeat, the wife of my youth, the mother of my children, and the First Lady in waiting, of Abia state, Lady Priscilla Chidinma Otti (Onugu Abia). I must thank her for living up to the challenges of being the wife of someone committed to these ideals, with equanimity and elegance. Unfortunately the work has only just begun but now you must support me, just like you have done in the past 30 years of our marriage, to work for the people of Abia. Special thanks to our children, Dr. Ezinwa, Engnr Alex Jr and Chinweotuto for being there and supporting Daddy without reservation. I must pause and remember some of those who have left us in the course of this journey. Although they are no longer here with us, I am sure that where ever they are now, they will be smiling with satisfaction that finally, we have triumphed over the forces that have held the State captive for so long. Some of the more notable ones among them are Prince Otisi Kalu, Abbott, Pastor Nnanna Ngwu, who both served as Chairmen for this campaign at different times. I must also remember my friend from Anambra State, Mr Eze Alomefuna, Rico, who worked tirelessly to help end the dynasty of incompetence in Abia state. Also to be remembered are Prince Dike O. Dike and Dr. Mike Nwachukwu who lost their lives within the period of this struggle. Worthy of mention is the less than two year old little Adanna who tragically lost her life in 2015, when in the frenzy and excitement of our electoral victory, her father, Mr. Pius Oha accidentally ran over her in a car. In spite of the exigency of time, please join me in observing a minute’s silence in honour of these fallen heroes. Indeed, I see this victory as a call to service. Even as I come out of a bruising and long drawn out campaign, I know that this is just the beginning of the journey. There is a lot of work to be done and we must get all hands on deck to ensure that we take back our state and bring the much sought-after dividends of democracy. You voted us to serve you and not to be served. You voted us to alleviate your sufferings and not to compound and multiply them. This is a service that comes with unusually high sense of devotion and commitment given our checkered history as a people. During my electioneering campaign, I traversed all nooks and crannies of Abia state, and that enabled me to have first-hand assessment of the needs and expectations of Abians. These are the basic things expected by the people for a responsible government to provide in order to unleash the potential inherent in the typically hardworking Abians. Based on my findings and those of my team members, it dawned on us that an immediate hands-on approach is required to hit the ground running and to ensure that we alleviate the sufferings of all Abians, I promised you that I will serve you as the Governor of all Abians and all citizens living in Abia, irrespective of clan, religious persuasion or political leaning. I see my mandate as cutting across all strata of our people and I once more promise to use the resources accruing to all Abians for the benefit of all Abians and the residents. I will like to assure us that we hold no bitterness against anyone and will not go on any revenge mission against anyone. If in the process of getting here, we have wronged anyone, kindly find a space in your heart to forgive. We have equally forgiven anyone that wronged us. This will be a government that would unite everyone in this state as we are all brothers and sisters. I want to salute the industry and resourcefulness of all Abians, the religious and traditional institutions, the civil servants, working class, the pensioners, the Business community, the physically challenged members of our society and indeed everyone that wishes Abia well. There shall be no discrimination whatsoever in the amenities that each person is able to access in our government. I made a firm promise to all civil servants and pensioners owed salaries, pensions and emoluments that an immediate payment plan would be put in place to ensure that this gets the priority it deserves. I am very much aware and prepared to deal with the issues of infrastructural decay which have continued to militate against our growth and development as a state. This will be tackled head-on. There is no doubt that given the deplorable state of our infrastructure, roads, schools and health systems, Abians are deservedly impatient to have these issues addressed as quickly as possible. I assure you that these areas will receive the priority attention of our government. Nevertheless, I caution that we all will need to put in our best and row together in one direction. There is no magic wand that can fix all the rot and decay noticed in virtually all segments of the system since the past years. For us to have sustainable development, it would require very painstaking and elaborate layout of master plans to enable us tackle the menace of flooding and re-engineer our cities especially Aba, Umuahia and other cities that would be developed in order to support our urban renewal projects. We therefore plead for patience and understanding as we first tackle the immediate challenges and work on the major ones. The approach of our government will revolve around crafting policies that will enable our government tap the creative energies of every Abian. We remain resolute in our drive to eliminate poverty and create sustainable wealth for our people. Once again, thank you for electing me and my Deputy to serve you for the next 4 years. We trust God for His enablement to offer our services to Abians in such a way that we would not disappoint you. We shall implement our manifesto which is a revered pact between our administration and the good people of Abia state. My dearly beloved Abians, as I conclude this address, I want to reassure you that we are going to run an open, transparent and accountable government devoid of waste and profligacy. Our doors will remain wide open and our channels of communication will remain unfettered so that your worthy contributions and suggestions will be a guiding light as we together navigate the thorny paths of rebuilding the state and transforming same for the benefit of all. We deeply cherish you all and will do our best to ensure that the trust reposed in us is not in vain. Thank you all and God bless Abia State! God bless Nigeria!! PRESS CONFERENCE BY SOUTH EAST APC YOUNG PROGRESSIVES FORUM HELD IN AWKA ANAMBRA STATE IN RESPECT OF SATURDAY 18TH MARCH 2023 STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTION IN ANAMBRA STATE. Good Afternoon Gentlemen of The Press, Ladies and Gentlemen, I welcome you all to this press conference. This press conference was called to draw Nigerians attention and Gentemen of the Press to a well orchestrated plot by certain top officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) led by The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Queen Elizabeth Agwu, to compromise the House of Assembly election billed for this Saturday, March 18, 2023. “We have invited you all to intimate you of the fact of serial breach of the Electoral Act by these officials who rather than enforce public confidence in the commitment and capability of INEC to deliver on a credible, free and fair House of Assembly election on Saturday, March 18, 2023, these officials are working hand in gloves with well known leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to hijack the aforementioned election in the state. “We are reliably informed of a recent plot by the APGA Government in the state to use the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Queen Elizabeth Agwu, in Anambra State and Some INEC Electoral Officers in about 18 Local Government to suppress votes and rig the election. HOW THE PLOT BEGAN: Last week, The Resident Electoral Commissioner held an interactive meeting with would-be Returning Officers for the election of Saturday, 18th March 2023. Before the meeting, The Resident Electoral Commissioner had changed majority of the Returning Officers who worked in the last Presidential Election and recruit New Faces that will do her biddings for APGA. In that Meeting, The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Queen Elizabeth Agwu, warned The Returning Officers for the State House of Assembly Elections not to declare any Assembly Seat without getting express approval from her. That she will tell them who to declare and who not to declare. We want the After the Meeting, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Anambra State, Dr Queen Elizabeth Agwu, held another meeting with INEC Local Government Electoral Officers, where she warned them at no point nor condition will they allow The Assembly Returning Officers to declare the Results without her approval. This directive did not go down well with some of the EOs, who believed that they are direct target of the masses if they carried out such directives. “We were also informed that APGA led Government has instructed all the LGA Executive Chairmen to carry out what they called ‘Operation No Mercy’ against every other party agents being the Chief Security Officers of their respective LGAs, to ensure that those agents representing their respective political party interests do not gain access to the Collation Centres. “We are also informed that plans are being made by the APGA Government in Anambra State to use the security agencies including their State Sponsored Ebube Agu and some known Thugs groups to perpetrate their election rigging plans” in some parts of ANAMBRA State. ANAMBRA State Government and APGA should be held responsible if there is any crisis in any Polling Units, Wards and Local Government in the State. APGA Government in Anambra State intends to penetrate this act in 18 Local Government areas. The Local Govt are: Onitsha North, Onitsha south, Aguata, Ogbaru, Anambra West, Ayamelum, Idemili North, Idemili South,Awka north, Awka south, Nnewi south, Ihiala and Ekwusigo. We are also aware that the sum of 30 Million Naira has been provided by the Sate Government for APGA in each Local Government and some substantial amount provided for the Resident Electoral commissioner and each EOs in All the Local Government Area. “Also, Part of the strategy to engage these EOs and Adhoc staff is for them to withhold the result sheets or disappear with the Result sheets, not to be available at the collation centres if they cannot get express approval on who to announce as the winner as directed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Anambra State.” WHY IS SHE PLANNING TO DO SO: There is a plan to cancel Elections in some wards and Units where APGA Candidates are in disadvantage. They have written Petitions already in some Wards alleging violence and Irregularities when Elections have not been conducted. Their grand plan is to use INEC cancel those places where APGA is not winning and declare APGA Candidate winner with the remaining Wards. This is why they are mobilising Thugs and Local Vigilantes through the office of President Generals of Town Unions to cause this havoc and have those units and wards nullified. Thereby giving APGA Candidates an edge and possibly declare Where APGA Candidate winner where they are leading. FROM THE ABOVE ISSUES RAISED: “In view of the above, our prayers are as follows: that INEC and every relevant security agency should stop all government officials from accessing the collation centres. “That in accordance with section 43 (1) of the Electoral Act prohibiting government officials from acting from acting as agents of political parties at collations, INEC and relevant security authorities should restrict the movement of all government officials from the All Commissioners in Prof. Soludo Government, APGA Party Chairmen down to Transition Chairmen and Members. “And that they should all stay away from Collation Centres as their presence will compromise the process.” We are calling on National Headquarters of INEC and the security agencies to live up to their responsibilities by performing their duties judiciously. They should make sure nothing happens to all the materials meant for the election in each of the Local Govt, let elections are conducted and the best Candidate won. There should be no intimidation of any sort. Also, Nigeria Police should seriously investigate the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Anambra State on why she should give such order to Returning Officers. Consequences of The Planned Rigging of Election: We are calling on Nigeria Police and DSS to hold The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mrs Elizabeth Queen Agwu, responsible if there is any Breakdown of law and Order in Anambra State. Dr Mrs Elizabeth Agwu has no right or power whatsoever under the Elecotal Act 2022 to tell Returning Officer to call her on phone so that she will tell her who to declare in the Election. The process of collation of Results from Polling Units to Ward Level to State Constituency level are well stated in the Eelctoral Act. Any other counter directive is an invitation to Anarchy in the State and she should be held responsible. We will mobilise Ndi Anambra against this selfish agenda and will not take it lightly with her. She should conduct this election based on the provisions of the electoral Act and remain an unbiased and neutral person in this election. The Nigeria Police should as a matter of urgency investigate Electoral Officer of Ogbaru Local Government Area. The EO has become a compromised officer. We invite Police and DSS to go through his Call Logs between 26th and 15h March, 2023. We have it on good information that he is working hand in hand with Ogbaru Local Government Chairman, some top Anambra State Government officials to compromise even the outstanding Supplementary Election for Ogbaru Federal Constituency. That election is inconclusive today is because of the dubious Character of the Electoral Officer of Ogbaru Local Government. MESSAGE TO ANAMBRA VOTERS: We are calling on Ndi Anambra voters to be very vigilante, be at alert and always report any suspicious movement on the day of the election. We call on Ndi Anambra to demand on spot arrival the Polling Unit results sheets and other materials for the election. The name of the SPOs and POs must be announced in various units and Wards. We call on Ndi Anambra to take photos of those Ad-hoc Staffs in various Polling Units. They should note their names and faces. We are calling on INEC to make sure they give original BIVAS username and Password to their Staff in all the POLLING UNITS. Let there be no stories. We call on Ndi Anambra to make sure that all results announced are uploaded on the BIVAS Machines at the spot of that Polling Units. Ndi Anambra Should be aware of Fake Ink pen that is in circulation in some State like Rivers State. Let the Voters come to their various Polling Units with Ink Pens we all know in the Market. Finally, We are calling on the INEC National Chairman to call Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner and All the Local Government EOs in Anambra State to reapect their oath of office and allow Ndi Anambra to choose their Representatives. Whoever that wins, We will congratulate him. Election should not be do or die affair. All we want is a better State and country. Enough is enough. Signed: Comrade Otimkpu Paschal C. National Convener, SOUTH EAST APC YOUNG PROGRESSIVE FORUM. Cc: i.State Commander, Nigeria Police Office Force, Awka Anambra State. ii. State Director, DSS Awka Anambra State. iii. techWriter3:Why don’t you hug transformer. Pain and envy will definitely kill you and your generation. |
AdaojoTheUrchin:As for 2027, let us serve the people and anambra north first. By 2027, it will speak for itself. As for unseating nwoye. Oduah lacks the capacity and doesn’t have the structure to do so. Go and ask her. It was Tony nwoye structure that was used to make Stella odua senator in 2015 and 2019. |
AdaojoTheUrchin:Thanks for your offer. Tony has nothing to hide. It is all about they say they say local gossip fabricated out of jealousy. God who sees hearts of men know who is evil or not. |
Dubetex96:Like your generation born and unborn. Family of criminals. That is where you come from. It takes a rogue to know his fellow member. Go and find something with your life. Tony Nwoye is now a senator. You can hug naked wire. We don’t care. Bunch of jealous fools |
AdaojoTheUrchin:No doubt Labour Party and Mr Peter Obi factor contributed 50% of the victory. He is aware of that. He also as an individual worked hard for his victory against a sitting Senator who has a lot of war chest to prosecute the election. Tony nwoye is the only senatorial candidate that your all the 99 wards and 7 Local Govt area of ANAMBRA north. There are people who are with Labour Party ticket in Anambra State, they didn’t work for it. They all failed. |
ejifranks:He is an opportunist. And you are what? Life is all about opportunities. When you have chance to get one. Grab it and make use of it. Create impact with that opportunity. If you really know Tony. You will know he is not an opportunist. He works for every opportunity that comes his way. All I can see in you is someone who is jealousy of his fellow youth achievements. Tony is not a son of a rich man. He came from poor background. God lifted him up for greatness. Pray for your own opportunity to come and grab it when you see one. |
AdaojoTheUrchin:All the things you hear about Tony is they say they say. None has been proven anywhere. In all this, what is Tony offence? Tony Nwoye contested NANS president against all odds and won his election as first Igbo undergraduate to become NANS President. Before this NANS struggle, he was elected Speaker Student Parliament University of Nigeria Nsukka. He later became PDP Chairman and delivered all PDP Candidates in 2007 Elections in Anambra State. He contested for House of Reps In 2011 and 2015 and won both and represented the good people of ANAMBRA East and West. He has contested for the Governorship of Anambra with two different Parties and came second if not internal sabotage. Today, he has won senate. So what makes him a thug or carry baggies if not propaganda by enemies of the people. |
AdaojoTheUrchin:There is no baggages and Tony doesn’t go around with thugs. Those young men you see or call thugs are graduates of Higher institutions who played their roles during NANS struggle. They are not thugs. Many of them are married with responsibility. |
ejifranks:I don’t blame you. It is your generation of online fools are thugs. Go and lick your wounds with Stella Oduah. I know you are in a serious pain. |
