Politics / South East APC Forum Lambast APGA Hypocrisy Over Supreme Court Verdict. by Paschal2806: 5:32pm On Jan 14
*Supreme Court Judgment: The two-faced hypocrisy of APGA*

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen,
I welcome you all to this very important Prese Conference.

We, The South East APC Young Progressives Forum, Anambra State chapter has watched with bemusement the hypocritical congratulations of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the APC-led government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Justices of the Supreme Court over the recent slew of judgments the apex court delivered in various Governorship Election Petition Appeals before it.

In the congratulatory message, APGA, which is the outgoing and ruling party in Anambra State, hailed President Bola Tinubu to high heavens and added that "the President's non-interference in the judicial process is a testament to his commitment to ensuring the birth of a new Nigeria where the rule of law reigns supreme." We make bold to ask, how does the responsibility of Justices, an affair of Mr President.

We, The South East APC Young Progressives Forum ordinarily would not have raised eyebrows over this adulation of the President and the APC-led federal government by APGA if it came from a place of sincerity and good sportsmanship. It is however obvious that APGA were bringing their hypocrisy and Eye service to bear judging by their actions and propaganda against the APC in Anambra State and South East, the same party they were hailing to high heavens at the national level. The branding of APC as Boko Haram Party and Fulani Party. The seed of hatred for APC in Anambra State was planted all the Churches, Markets, Schools by the Same APGA led Government in Anambra State. They used all machineries of Government to make our People hate APC and President Tinubu.

In fact, in 2023 Elections, APGA led Government in Anambra State supported Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and even give financial support to PDP Candidates where they have weak Candidates.

Today, The APGA government in Anambra State led by Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo wants to be seen as an ally to the APC at the federal level but their actions on ground in the state towards the same APC betrays their sinister intention. APGA officials in Anambra State and the Soludo administration as a whole always badmouth APC as a party when they speak to our people at the grassroot. They accuse APC of being clueless and deliberately bringing economic difficulties unto the citizenry. This is the same APC led by President Tinubu who APGA with the other side of their mouth is hailing as being "committed to ensuring the birth of a new Nigeria". This is premium hypocrisy!

If the APGA hypocrisy stopped at that, it would have been manageable. However the APGA-led Soludo administration has classified APC in Anambra State as a potent political threat that must be subdued and have gone to employ sinister and draconian tactics to achieve that objective. The latest of such is the suspension of traditional rulers in the state who give chieftaincy titles to APC chieftains. Also, any APC Member who wants to Contest President-General of His community is seen as an outcast by APGA Led Government and such person is automatically disqualified even if he is popular. These have happened in Awukuzu town, Nimo, Mbaukwu and many other places. This is pettiness taken to the extreme!

We all saw how APGA and Prof. Soludo collected Palliatives from APC led Government and failed to disclose it to Our People. Till date, Ndi Anambra is asking, where is our own Palliatives from Tinubu. The APGA government in Anambra State is no longer content with hijacking federal government interventions and re-baptising it as theirs, they want to obliterate anything APC in Anambra State and would not mind if the Tinubu administration from the federal level begin to see APGA in Anambra as the state chapter of the APC instead of Anambra APC. This whole hypocritical grandstanding from APGA and Soludo is simply geared towards reducing the appetite or keenness of the APC at the federal level from trying to bring Anambra State into the APC fold in the 2025 governorship elections.

To further underline the naked hypocrisy in the APGA congratulations, the party is not a party in any of election petition appeals and therefore can easily be seen as a meddlesome interloper. Secondly, APGA talks about renewing of hope in our democratic process yet are running an undemocratic system in the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State with illegal transition committees and zero accountability. Hypocrisy couldn't be this audacious!

The South East APC Young Progressives Forum therefore wish to call on the All Progressives Grand Alliance to remove the garment of hypocrisy and stop speaking from two sides of their mouth as far as APC is concerned both at the national level and at the state level. The Soludo administration should also face governance instead of hounding its political opponents or using the instrumentality of state power to intimidate traditional or religious institutions that dare associate with APC or any of its stakeholders in Anambra State.

Soludo has enough headaches to tackle ranging from the broken down internal security in our cities, especially the state capital Awka, crude waste management system, thuggish revenue collection and confiscation of items belonging to poor citizens, etc. He should face these governance issues squarely and see if he can deliver the African Dubai Taiwan he promised Ndi Anambra instead of the sycophantic posturing towards the APC government at the federal level.

May God bless our dear Anambra State!

*RE-MOGHALU: IFEANYI UBA CANNOT WIN ANAMBRA FOR APC.*

Our attention has been drawn to the fake news being circulated by a faceless group with the above referenced caption and credited for our Principal, Chief Dr George N. Moghalu.

It is evidently clear it is a sponsored article with a sole intention of creating enemity between our Principal, his friend and his brother, both Leaders of our great Party in Anambra State.

Ordinarily, we would not have responded or reacted to this Junk Journalism only that it became necessary following the concerns expressed by well meaning members of the Public, particularly our Party Members.

It is very unfortunate that these faceless elements are trying everything possible to twist facts that are before the public. The interview granted by Our Principal was widely reported in the Sun Newspapers, Nation Newspaper, Thisday and Daily Trust Newspapers.

From the content of the interview, it is clear that the headline under reference only exists in the imagination of those spreading the fake news. For the avoidance of doubt, let us set the record straight.

At no point in the interview did our Principal say that Senator Ifeanyi Uba cannot win Anambra for APC.

We will therefore advise these hatchet writers to take out time and read the interview which is in the Public domain and endeavour to practice responsible Journalism. We therefore urge the general public to disregard the baseless and sensational headline.

We wish to state that our Principal is ever ready to join other progressive minded Stakeholders to move the Party forward.

We welcome Senator Ifeanyi Uba and other progressives who joined our Party, The APC.

Politics / Palliatives: Stop Re-bagging Fg’s Rice For Your Reelection Campaign.. Prof Solud by Paschal2806: 9:56pm On Nov 30, 2023
The South-East All Progressives Congress (APC), Young Progressives Forum, has accused the Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, of shortchanging the people of the by sharing midget bags of rice to them against what the Federal Government consigned to the state .

According to the group, the bags of rice the Federal Government allocated to the state for palliative care were in 5kg size.

Describing Soludo’s method of sharing the FG’s palliatives as fraudulent, the group further accused the governor of re-bagging and rebranding the rice for his reelection campaign.

asked him stop shortchange Ndi Anambra in that respect.

The group statement was signed by
Comrades CHibuzo Michael.
(State Coordinator) and Paschal Candle (National Convener)

THE GROUP’S STATEMENT READS:

The attention of the South East APC Young Progressives Forum, Anambra State Chapter has been drawn to the fraudulent manner in which the government of Anambra State under the leadership of Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo has been handling the rice palliatives from the federal government.

It is on record that shortly after the announcement of a set of federal interventions made available to the 36 states of the federation and the FCT to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy, South East APC Young Progressives Forum raised an alarm alerting ndi Anambra of the said federal palliatives comprising five truckloads of 50kg rice and the sum of N5 billion to purchase additional 100,000 bags of rice and 40,000 bags of maize and fertiliser.

The governor in the face of the scrutiny hurriedly announced on August 22nd 2023 a draft of measures as Anambra State’s proposed intervention to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy. In the broadcast by the Governor however, he failed to acknowledge receipt of the 5 trucks of Federal rice palliatives nor the N5 billion given to states by the federal government. It was basically a broadcast lacking totally in transparency.

The South East APC Young Progressives Forum kept vigilance to monitor when the State Governor would direct the distribution of the federal palliatives and the modalities for the distribution. It was therefore not surprising that three months after, Prof. Soludo’s government received the 5 truckloads of rice and N5 billion, they decided to use the said federal rice as campaign materials for Governor Soludo.

Recently pictures of 10kg bags of rice branded with pictures of Governor Soludo and his party, APGA surfaced with the State Government announcing that it is now ready to share the palliatives it announced back in August. To say that this is a most uncharitable act by Governor Soludo is understatement. This fraudulent and tantamount to stealing of federal palliatives for cheap Political Popularity.

To further compound the total lack of transparency in Soludo’s belated distribution of the federal rice palliatives, his government did not announce how they intended to ensure the rice is distributed to the most vulnerable people in the state without recourse to partisanship. Our fears were confirmed when it emerged that the rice palliatives from the federal government were being shared to supporters of APGA and the Soludo government. In some of the videos we have seen many places, The Rice Palliatives is for Ndi APGA, as you can see them singing (Nwannem Mutu aka na obi ka Ibata APGA , Ndi Uwa Oma).

The most brazen act in the whole affair by Prof. Charles Soludo was the inexplicable use of federal rice palliatives to celebrate the birthday of an illustrious son of Anambra State, Chief Engr. Arthur Eze (Ozoigbondu). It got to our attention that Prof. Soludo’s government conveyed people (majorly APGA supporters) from different parts of the state to the Emmaus House ground in Awka to share 10kg bags of Soludo branded rice to them as part of 75th birthday celebrations of Chief Engr. Arthur Eze.

This to us is highly unacceptable. If Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo wants to celebrate and honour the elder statesman, he should look for a way to immortalise his name by naming critical institutions of government or public buildings after Chief Engr. Arthur Eze and not using federal palliatives rice he branded into campaign materials to give to people in the guise of celebrating the birthday of Ozoigbondu. Ozoigbondu cannot take from the poor in order to be celebrated. What happened in Emmanus in the name of celebrating Ozoigbondu is a scam and fraud of the highest order.

We also feel it is ridiculous for the State Government to share only 10kg bags of rice to the people (even if they are only APGA supporters). In other states, we have seen how their state governors shared 50kg bags of rice and even maize to thousands of their people across the state. Why is Anambra State government sharing only 10kg bag of rice as palliatives after a three-months delay? 10kg bag of rice is not close to what can even be described as palliative measures to help the vulnerable people. Ndi Anambra deserve better!

Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo also seems not to be talking about the other leg of the Federal palliatives, which involve 40,000 bags of maize and bags of fertilisers to farmers as part of measures to help vulnerable individuals and farmers to boost food productivity. It is obvious that this is not on the agenda of Prof. Charles Soludo. We want to use this opportunity to call upon Mr. Governor to come clean on this whole palliative affair as it is becoming hugely embarrassing for Anambra State.

Prof. Charles Soludo prides himself as a governor running a transparent government. From his handling of this federal palliatives, it is clear even to the visually impaired that transparency and Soludo cannot be mentioned in the same sentence. Enough is enough. Anambra State is too big a state to be taken for a ride

Politics / Re-how Soludo Abandoned Police Inspector Who Fell From His Convoy To Die Miserab by Paschal2806: 5:28pm On Nov 28, 2023
Just In:
Re-How Gov Soludo Abandons Police Inspector Who Fell From His Convoy To Die Miserably Without Care.

The attention of the Family of Inspector Lucky Okey of Amata Akpoha Autonomous Community Afikpo North Local Government of EBONYI has been drawn on online news circulating on social Media where one faceless Marshal is accusing Governor Soludo of abandoning Our Son, Inspector Lucky Ukpai, Who fell from Governor’s convoy on an official duty to die miserably.

Our Son did not die miserably. When the incident happened, Governor Soludo took care of him. He gave him 100 percent maximum attention at the Hospital. The Governor did all he could to save his life and the best Medical Doctors were assembled to take care of him. We are so grateful to the Governor for his fatherly display and concern over the death of Our Son.

We do not know who is Marshall and why he is out to tarnish the image of the Governor and the family or what he intends to achieve with that. We want to state it clearly, we do not know him nor authorise him to speak for the family. Our son, Inspector Lucky is single and not married.
He had the accident on 6th August 2022 and not February as said by the so called Marshall

We urge the Public to disregard the said publication. We beg all who are trying to use our sons death to score cheap Political point to leave Our Family and son out of this. They should allow us to mourn our son and let the soul of our beloved son to rest in perfect peace.

Politics / Prof. Soludo Purported Free Education In Anambra Is A Scam Says APC Group. by Paschal2806: 8:38am On Sep 24, 2023
Good Afternoon, Gentlemen of The Press.
*Governor Soludo and His Free Education Jambroee.*

*The Soludo's Free Basic Education is a big Deceit.*

Anambra State Chapter of The South East APC Young Progressives Forum watched with dismay as the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo flagged off what he described as 'free and qualitative education across all government owned nursery, primary and junior secondary school classes in Anambra State'. According to the governor, all fees, dues and levies running into several thousands hitherto being paid by students in these basic education classes have now been scrapped.

We are therefore perplexed on how Governor Soludo will launch with fanfare a programme that is supposed to be existing since 2004. Let's assume Governor Soludo met a practice on ground where students in primary 1-6 and JSS 1-3 that were not meant to pay any fees were made to pay illegal fees in violation of the UBE Act (as domesticated by Anambra State), why did it take him a year and 5 months to put a stop to it.

Let us make it clear to Ndi Anambra, The official declaration of the purported free and qualitative education for students in nursery and basic classes (covering Primary 1 to JSS 3) and the attendant joy is not about "tuition fees" as this has long been made free by the previous administrations starting from Dr Chris NGIGE down to Governor Obiano.

Before today and in spite of the tuition free regimes, a Primary school pupil in a public school in Anambra State pays 1,500 to 3,000 Naira per term depending on the school and location of the School. This long list of these illegal levies totaling about 10 items covered such dues as; exam fee, portal fee, library fee etc.

The Anambra State Chapter of South East APC Young Progressives Forum wants to task the governor to answer the following questions:

1. The several thousands of Naira in termly fees and levies that students in primary 1-6 and JSS 1-3 were paying before now, which purse were they entering? who authorised them?

2. Did Anambra State access the UBE 50% marching grant from the Federal Government meant to assist states ensure basic education is free in their schools? If yes, why did the state government still allow students to be exploited and fleeced?

3. Now that you have abolished all fees, we want to know if you have also stopped PTA levies in all public primary and junior secondary schools? This is another area where corruption thrives in Public Schools.
4. Has the APGA led Government in Anambra been providing Students in Anambra State in the basic education category textbooks in the 4 and 5 of the core subject areas of primary and junior secondary schools respectively mandated by the UBEC as part of what UBE grants to states covers?

This is crucial because education is not just about going to school but having instructional materials to learn with. We are aware that most primary schools and many secondary schools in Anambra lack decent school libraries without adequate textbooks for the students to use. We therefore ask Governor Soludo to give specific answers to the SCOPE of the free basic education he reintroduced. This is for the sake of accountability and transparency.

We are also constrained to highlight the very poor state of our public schools across Anambra State. Anambra public primary and secondary schools are fast becoming antiquities with no concerted efforts by the state government to carry out total overhaul of structures in our schools to meet modern standards. We see the kind of model schools poorer states like Borno, Gombe etc are building for their students and wonder why it seems a taboo to build modern, aesthetic schools in Anambra State. It simply means there is zero political will to build such.

The South East APC Young Progressives Forum also want to use this opportunity to ask Governor Chukwuma Soludo why the state government is not contemplating creating more schools in view of the ever expanding population across the state and the need for more standard public schools to cater for the qualitative education needs of the growing population in many cities, towns and villages. For the past 18 years, no single new public secondary or primary school have been built by the APGA led government in Anambra State. This is very unfortunate and must be addressed.

In conclusion, we want to appeal to the good people Anambra State and civil society organisations to step up vigilance and demand for basic accountability and transparency from the Anambra State government and Governor Charles Soludo especially on this issue of free education declaration.

Paschal Candle.
