I told the Buharist and body language apostles that power generation always fluctuates and that all We're enjoying now is still part of the dividends of the transformation agenda in the last administration. Buhari himself confirmed that he has neither added a single megawatts of power nor invested one kobo in the power sector but the body language apostles would have none of that.

The current generation is sufficient now to guarantee stable power in many parts of the country because we're in rainy season when power demand is somewhat low. Dry season will soon be here and We'll be back to square one. Then the body language apostles will be missing in action.

First, I don't recollect where I picked up fight with the OP. I understand the fun part of the thread.
I also understand the constitutional provision. But sincerely, this is where I actually have issues with the wailers. Many of them have derided the north for being parasites, that they don't contribute and are just "there to fulfill the federal quota system". They have long called for the federal character "thing" to be abolished. Well on a light note, now that it has been "somewhat" done away with, they are still wailing. That's why they say be careful of what you wish for because you may just get it.

I said in an post earlier today and let me repeat it here. I am a Yoruba - proud one at that. But what did we gain when OBJ/Bankole were in their respective offices? Same goes for people from David Mark and Ekwerumadu's village. Now we have the VP and two slots in HOR, are we supposed to be happy just because our sons are their? Is that our dividends? OBJ our son sunk billions into PHCN without much to show. Now PMB is less than 100 days in office and we have recorded highest electricity transmission in our history. There are many more examples that I am sure you are aware of.

The point I am making is it will be nice for PMB to follow federal character but that should be a secondary requirement. The main thing is to get the job done - even if it means choosing his team from one village. Will the people of Ogoni care about having their son in power now that PMB has given the order to clean their land? A feat their son could do in six years?

We are in emergency situation to correct the rot created by 16 years of pdp misrule. we need to reduce corruption, win the war against insurgency, we need good health care, education and other social amenities. This is not the time to give federal character priority.

And BTW, there are still other appointments to made.

At a ceremony for politicians who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Babatunde Olorogun-Etti, a former PDP chieftain now with the APC, has identified the virtues of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the party.

Speaking at the event, Olorogun-Etti highlighted fair-mindedness, trust building, and good gate-keeping as virtues of Bola Tinubu.

Olorogun-Etti also praised Tinubu for respecting the wishes of the people, demonstrating democratic effectiveness and finding peaceful resolutions to conflicts, The Nation reports.

He said: “In a lot of ways, he’s a very good politician. He has a fine political mind and a real commitment to public service. He is a man of real talent and real principle.”

Attributing their defection to leadership greed and selfishness, they urged other Lagosians in the PDP to quit the party.

Olorogun-Etti said: “The leaders do not have the interest of members at heart.”

Joining Olorogun-Etti to extol Tinubu, Muiz Aregbe-Obanikoro and 27 former leaders of the PDP now in the APC, described Tinubu as the best politician in the country.

They also praised him for making the south-west part of mainstream politics in Nigeria

Among those who defected to the APC are Chief Ibrahim Babatunde Olorogun-Etti, Hon Muiz Aregbe-Obanikoro, Alhaji Yakub Yusuf, Sunday Ayinde, Wale Ramous, Alhaja Kuburat Salami, Alhaji Lateef Lamidi and Adijat Jaji.

Meanwhile, Tinubu has reacted to the attacks on his successor, Babatunde Fashola.

In a statement by his media office on August 26, Tinubu said Fashola would appear victorious at the end as the former Lagos state governor has recently been experiencing the worst moments in his political career following fraud allegations.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state has reacted to the earlier tantrum from Godsday Orubebe, a former minister of the Niger Delta who took a swipe at him.

According to Oshiomhole, Orubebe’s attack on him is as a result of President Muhammadu Buhari planned probed of several billions of naira squandered on the East-West road and on the Amnesty programme.

Governor Oshiomhole noted that Orubebe is afraid of being probe by President Buhari.

The Governor in a statement by his Peter Okhiria, his chief press secretary, said the incompetence of people like Orubebe contributed to the dismal failure of the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan, Vanguard reports.

He said: “Our attention has been drawn to the latest outburst of one clown called Godsday Orubebe in his attempt to taint the image of the Governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole.

“It is no surprise that the former president, Goodluck Jonathan failed woefully because he surrounded himself with such charlatans as Godsday Orubebe, whose only credential is his ethnic origin and the large size of his bowler hat.

“Here was a man whose un-ministerial conduct at the election nearly plunged the nation into an avoidable crisis

“Does Orubebe really think Nigerians are fools, does he truly believe Nigerians have forgotten so soon the ignoble role he played in his attempt to truncate the release of the election results and announcement of the eventual winner of that election, a move which could have plunged the nation into another civil war?

“Is it not a shame that Orubebe who should be cooling off his heel in jail for that failed plot to truncate democracy has now found a convoluted voice?

“We are not surprised at the timing of Orubebe’s latest outburst. It is no doubt unconnected with the planned probe by President Muhammadu Buhari of the billions of naira allocated to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, even as the East-West road remains in bad shape and the probe of the fleecing of amnesty funds under his watch.

“We are aware that Orubebe, the perpetual noise maker has raised the decibel of his noise a notch higher so that he would have a ready-made defence of witch-hunting if he is indicted in the planned probe of Amnesty funds.

“Orubebe is a yesterday’s man. We could have chosen to ignore him like his Delta brother, Sunny Onuesoke, an unknown entity who doesn’t know the arithmetics of financing, but decided to delve into a matter of a World Bank loan, something completely beyond his mental and intellectual capacity, but we simply can’t let Orubebe have the last say.

“We are not unaware that it has now become the fad for drowning and neophyte politicians to take cheap shots at the impeccable character of the Comrade Governor just to gain cheap publicity. However, Orubebe’s image, as he himself knows, is beyond redemption.

“Is it not laughable that Orubebe, the clown, accused Oshiomhole of biting the fingers that fed him? Pray, how did Jonathan feed Oshiomhole? Did he feed Oshiomhole by supervising over a government that fleeced the nation of trillions of naira, thereby denying Edo state her rightful share of funds for development? Or did he feed Oshiomhole by canvassing votes for him!

“Our candid advice is for Orubebe, a perpetual failed Governorship aspirant, to go to his family and apologise for the irreparable damage done to the family name with his infamous outburst beamed live to the whole world, before coming forward to confront Governor Adams Oshiomhole who is not in any way in the same class as him.

“It is no wonder that Nigeria was at a state of near collapse until President Muhammdu Buhari came on a rescue mission and rendered people like Orubebe irrelevant.

Governor Oshiomhole had earlier blamed Goodluck Jonathan for Edo state’s misery. According to him, his government was forced to secure a loan of $75million from the World Bank because of the former president Goodluck Jonathan’s looting.
