This is obvious in the realm of charges which they impose on the learners. Chiefly amongst these are admission fees, enrolment charges for certificate examinations and humongous fees for the collection of certificates.
Admission Requirements:
In addition to the payment of various sums ranging from 10 thousand and 20,000 naira. In addition, students are forced to pay for other materials such as carton of chalk, a dozen notebooks a roll of fullscap, cutlass, detergent, tissue paper, amongst other massive lists of items

Enrolment charges
There seem to be no clear harmony concerning the amounts payable by students in certificate classes. For the ss3 students, candidates last session pay between 40 and 50 thousand in enrolment charges. In addition, they are charged for passports and so on. Most alarming is the additional charge for cass which cost between 6 and 13 thousand naira.

Collection of Certificates

This is one gold mine for school heads. Primary Jss school leavers are made to pay between 5 and 10 thousand naira while ssce pay between 15 and 30 thousand NAIRA.

MY CONCERNS
* These charges are outrageous particularly in a state like Delta where education is free.
* There appears to be no uniformity on the anounts charged.
* We need to know exactly the actual charges if there is.


WAY FORWARD
* THE MINISTRY OF BASIC AND SECONDARY EDUCATION need to investigate and verify these claims.
* The Ministry must be open in communication. The state has a right to Know the actual charges for these services
* The ministry should use all the media including the social media to alert Deltans and open a feedback channel so they can be informed where any administrator is violating these guidelines
