I share the same sentiment. I don’t know why people can’t accept that not everyone would take something from them.

I once had a neighbour who offered me food on few occasions that I had to take because I don’t want her to feel any form bad blood between us. I don’t eat the food.

The day I politely declined her food stating I had cooked myself was the day what I was avoiding to happen started. She became angry and started giving me attitude. She won’t respond when I greet her. She will talk to other neighbors and pretend I don’t exist. I kukuma return the same attitude.

Luckily for me, I left the house 3 weeks later. Since then, I outrightly reject whatever anyone offers if I’m sure I don’t want it. Be it food o, invitation to church or any event, the no is no. Let the bad blood start right away if it wants to start.

I seriously don't know why this is. It pains me when I collect food from people and trash it, I see it as wasting people's effort. But people cannot handle the truth, so it's really very hard to decline. I wish we could all handle the truth. If I give someone anything and He/She rejects it, I won't even hold a grudge, I will even thank the person for being honest
