Hi guys,
For those that are not aware maintenance is now £1,023 monthly. Meaning £9,207 is what you have to show if schooling outside London for applications submitted after 1st of December. Saw it on my CAS, so thought to share for those not aware.

It took me close to a month to get mine. Paid 2 week of October. Submitted the required documents 30th of October, got visa fund approval mail a month later then I got the cas 26th of November.
Try calling their international office they might be able to help because that what I did after waiting too long

Paid 29th October, sent documents 3rd. Called but they said CAS issuers are working from home.

Guess they have met their quota for students cause it beats me how their response rate is.

A friend applied for MSC Renewable energy and up till now over 20 days no offer, he contacted the rep and the rep said he would check on the application and revert.
Guess what,the rep has not even said anything till now and no form of communication from the school,if not that the friend applied to University of Portsmouth as well and has gotten offer and is just about to pay tuition,imagine what his fate would have been because of Coventry.

So annoying.

Wow..Been waiting for CAS for over a month after fulfilling the conditional offer terms. Wow

Please has anyone gotten CAS from Coventry Uni? If yes when did you pay or how long did it take?

How much do people earn in big cities like Lagos, Abj or even PH after completing the course you want to go for? It’s about being smart and a bit realistic. You don’t want to say a figure that doesn’t exist. Research what people earn after graduating from that course, does doing the course in the Uk make you earn higher than what those that have the same qualifications from Nigerian Universities? Better still, state name of course here so those that answered that during their interviews can tell you the amount they mentioned or what they know about that course. The ball is in your court!

Is it just only 9ja passport or all passports. I don check my passport tired, the old pass number is not reflecting on the new passport. I don even used the new passport to travel without any issues?

I saw this online, you can google. It’s obvious on the data page that both numbers are there, I tried hiding the person’s details but it’s on google.

Lmao..Unfortunately you are wrong! Check the bio data. There is a column there that says previous passport number (Just before where they usually write “Authority”).

The best thing is to google them and check for schools that give discounts to international students or Nigerians.
Sunderland used to be one of the cheapest then, don’t know about now.

For those that applied to Coventry Uni for January, they are giving a discount of £1,500 called Territory award to students from Nigeria.

In addition to the fact that your wife can’t work more than 20hours per week during term time, she can work full time during holiday.
You as her dependent can do full time jobs but you can check www.indeed.co.uk for likely salary that is paid for your field of job and you need to know the uk requirements for that job you plan doing when you get here or be ready to do warehouse jobs which is common for men here or care assistant jobs after you have done training. However these small jobs pay you between £8.72 (Minimum wage) to £12 (Depending on the city you are living in or if you are doing support jobs which pay slightly more than care assistant).
Have it in mind too that 20% tax will be deducted if you earn less than £50,000 annually or 40% if over £50, 000 annually. You will pay for rent and some houses charge couples a little over the normal house rent if you are staying in a room (not all houses do this). So, do your calculations and decide if you can pay the balance. To be honest, I have seen people do it here if they are very hard working but try to pay most of the tuition you can before coming here. Covid has made some job scarce so it might not be so easy. My 2 cent.

You don't pay council tax and you also don't pay personal income tax if you earn below 12,500 annually, which on a student's 20 hours a week is generally not attainable based on the kinds of jobs students can usually do with that time allowance.

To add to this, you are allowed to work full time during holiday and you can earn more than £1,041 monthly, then a little amount of tax would be deducted too. Sometimes, excess tax is deducted if you have the wrong tax code or if an employer places you on emergency tax code or if you left your job for another without letting the tax office know you no longer work for the previous company, it is assumed you have 2 jobs most times so they charge you excess tax.

I think you don’t pay tax as a student if you are doing 1 job and earning less than £1,041 monthly but there are some tiny deductions that leave sometimes like NI deductions and sometimes pension (Depending on where you work). Unnoticeable deductions I’d say.

I'm a bit confused. Does it mean that after the 28 days you should print your bank statement then you must apply for the visa within 31 days of printing the statement?

This simply means that your balance tuition and maintenance money of about £9200 approximately (if schooling outside London) should have stayed in your account or parents account from let’s say 1st of October till 30th of October, then you can print it out on that 30th of October or upwards from the bank (with the money still there) for your biometrics/document submission that is like on 31st of October or 1st of November. This simply means that, they want to be sure the money has stayed in the account for like 28days or over 28 days before you go for biometrics or submit documents that includes bank statement.

Hi, I just replied your email. I did not send an academic letter of reference. The only reference I submitted was from the place I work, stating they are granting me study leave for a year.

Dint they give you collection slip? That they stapled your biodata page of your international Passport on? That was the only thing they asked me for.

One way ticket is usually too expensive, sometimes more costly than return, if you buy your ticket now you can get a return date of June 2020 and move it further to 2021 few weeks before the June date expires, but you will have to pay a rebooking fee
