How has Ole reneged on his words? It's still 3 games in, rotations are going to happen.

He should worry more about being ready to take his chances when he gets them. The manager has already reassured him he's going to get his chances.
He sits on the bench most most times but you expect him to be ready to put up a world class performance the day he is called upon. You think every player is like Rosicky/Reus/Messi/Cazorla that will perform whenever they're called upon even if they haven't played a competitive match for ages? You don't utilize a player yet you expect him to take his chance when you decide to field him prolly in a dead rubber game with others who hardly get a look in...Abegi!!!

The agent felt his client wouldn't get much game time at Man utd because Ronaldo got signed and Pogba is going to getting moved to the central midfield, so he wanted to move him to Everton where their AMs are facing injury crises which he feels guarantees regular game time for his client yes I read what the agent said.
So, why do you choose to argue otherwise? Is it that you didn't comprehend what he was on about?

VDB did the preseason and it's only expected he starts the season but Ole has since reneged on his words, is that not a call for concern, though early?

Did he block the transfer because "he know he is not going to play him" or because "he is in his plans"? We need depth, especially in our midfield. We can't allow the good players will have to just leave. VdB will get his chances, he has not particularly impressed me when he played at AM so I hope the chances he gets now will be at CM.
We need depth yet VDB hasn't played a game even though he was available for the preseason and played in those preseason games. How would you feel if a player who didn't participate in the preseason gets the nod ahead of you upon return at the beginning of the season? Does it in any way show Ole trust him or counts on him?

BEFORE the match started and actually while the Argentines were still in the hotel i saw an update that mentioned the argument between the Argentine team and the Brazilian health authorities.

Brazilian police had actually been called to the hotel BEFORE the match started.

You have to also blame the Argentine players who lied about their travel history though. The Brazilian health authorities had actually tried enforcing their quarantine rules for people coming from "red" countries like the UK but Lo Celso and Romero kept claiming they had not been in the UK recently. cheesy

The rule in Brazil is that if you are coming from the UK you should quarantine for 14 days in a hotel room before moving around. Last i checked a football stadium is not a hotel room. Romero and Lo Celso had no right to be on that pitch as per the rules in place in Brazil and they had been warned about it BEFORE the match but they kept insisting they had not been in the UK in the 14 days prior to the match.
There was actually a big row in the Argentine hotel base BEFORE the match but they fought the health officials and boarded the bus to the stadium.

I am now hearing that Spurs plan to sanction Romero and Lo Celso for traveling without permission and contravening the rules agreed on by all Premier league clubs. Brazil played fair but the Argentines in typical fashion tried to finesse the system.
Messi said prior to fiasco that ensued on the pitch, there didn't get across to them. I guess each side is telling the story in a way that absolves them of any blame...Let's hope an independent investigation is carried out to ascertain what really happened...

Lo Celso and Romero no try if Spurs didn't grant them permission to travel.

You are not far from the truth. The whole thing just looks suspicious. They had 3 days to have enforced whatever regulations/guideline they needed to enforce, but they waited till kick off to do that. Even messi shock

I think if anything, Brazil should be punished for the show of shame.
I saw the line up and immediately put my money on Argentina because Brazil were missing so many players especially the EPL contingent of Brazilians but their health ministry officials had other ideas...As I said, it looked orchestrated to get the game postponed.

Brazil can't lose twice to Argentina in quick succession on home soil, the embarrassment will be too much...

Bombblacks:
Guido Albers (Donny agent) was live on u/ZiggoSport last night, taking the time to talk about Donny van de Beek's situation at Manchester United while also explaining what happened on the last day of the transfer window.

“Donny joined Man United with lots of expectations. Solksjaer told him that they would play in another system. In the first 5 games it already went wrong, and at the end of the season we had to come to the conclusion that he barely played. So we thought: what about next year?"

“Then, in the summer.. Donny was told that he was not allowed to leave. Then Cristiano arrived on Friday which we knew was bad news for us. Pogba plays on the left, and with Cristiano’s arrival it means another extra player in midfield, with Pogba moving away from the left.”

“Then we rang the bell. We had conversations with Solksjaer and the board. We took the initiative to find a club and our search ended up at Everton. We opened talks with Marcel Brands (Everton DOF) & Farhad Moshiri (Everton owner).”

“Donny talked with his father and his father in law. They agreed to take a step down in his career while knowing he could play every week. They don’t have a “10” over there with both James & Sigurdsson having problems. The package was complete and everything was looking good."

“Then on Monday night we received a call from Solksjaer and the club who told us that a transfer was out of question and that he had to report himself to training the next morning.”

So what’s the perspective now?
Nothing wrong in what he said here...Why did Ole and the board block him from joining Everton on loan when he knows he was not going to play him?

I like players who are not comfortable on the bench regardless of the mo ey they're paid weekly...Ole should allow him leave abeg.

I brought up Pogba to describe how the wages of our players are reported. Journalists usually get the details from agents and such figures are usually the max amount that includes performance related bonuses. There are lots of articles that mention this.

When I am less busy I will post links of articles that provide info about player wages.
I will love to read it/them...

This is not true, there are reports out there that stated that Lingard didn't want to move to Westham. Moyes also gave some clues pertaining this in a particular interview.

It's just a cultural thing at United, we do not like to force players out if they don't want to leave. It's not always about wages. We could make thw club uncomfortable for players by using the press (Barca style), relegating them to U-21 for training or by taking their first team locker (Niasse at Everton).

Selling players is not as difficult as most people think, all you have to do is get agents that will do the legwork for a fee. Since the time of Fergie bar a few cases, the club do not like moving on player on a bad note.
So, the club just rather pays players for doing nothing?

You think Real Madrid wouldn't have gotten rid of Bale since? The wages bro...No club wants to pay a fee and still have to do those wages that's why a loan option with the parent club paying half of the wages always suffices.

Players are blinded by contract, with the money they'd make signing on a bosman, most players will rather sit on the bench and run down their huge contracts and leave at the end of it for free to join another club and collect another mouth watering sign on fee...If Lingard was released, West Ham will sign him the same day and easily pay his wages.

People need to understand that Martial's 250k wage includes a shit load of performance related bonuses, same applies to Pogba and Rashy. Pogba is reported to be on 290K, according to football leaks his basic wage is but 160K or so. Also clubs that would mostlikely be looking at Martial should be able ot his wages and it's not uncommon for players to take a wage cut.
You are not sure of this information. We are talking about Martial but you brought in Pogba, how exactly does that point to what you want to have us believe?

I also made reference to his wages in my original post.

Regardless, this season is his final chance. Only potential issue is finding a club ready to pay such huge wages.
Wages, they lies the problem. I think West Ham would have jumped on the chance to sign Lingard if he was on a free however, paying over 25m and paying him his current weekly wage put them off...

We find it difficult to sell players who are surplus to requirement because very few clubs can afford to pay our players the wages they get here on a weekly...

Alright Man. You have successfully defended Mou.
If Martial had his best season after Mou, it's only logical to posit that Mou didn't destroy him...

Martial is his own problem, he looks disinterested and only seems to play well when the rest of the team plays well, he doesn't try to make things happen even though Ole has given him all the support he needs...

Handing him a paycheck of 250k weekly didn't do him any favors, that's the wages of elite forwards in the league but Martial who doesn't contribute just as much is earning so much. His drive to improve his game is not there after all he is earning the wages that should have seen him put his head down to work...

Mou has his faults though...

Heard they were told in their hotel room prior to the game but ignored the police, so their action. I think British based players weren’t supposed to partake and the Argentine team had a few of them playing. I was surprised when I saw a strange name in goal for Brazil when I know Allison and Ederson would be battling the slot out.
English clubs refused to release most South American players I think. So, if EPL based Argentine players were allowed to travel, I don't see the problem...I still think the Brazilians did it on purpose to have the game postponed.

Actually, the backup players were highly needed. The main grouse most of us are angry here is really that £80m wasted on both ramsdale and White and not selling xhaka instead giving him improved contracts. Those 3 decisions is what is indirectly affecting arsenal esp as crucial area of the pitch are left unattended to

Aside that, everything you wrote up there is facts 100%
Even the Odegaard deal sef get as e be. I'd rather a more experienced CAM for 40m...

Xhaka renewal was just a daft move, should have been sold to Roma for even 15m...Sometimes you just have to cut your loses...

That DM we didnt asdress this summer might end up haunting us, I just pray one of Fred/Mctominay just pick form this season

Bruno mustn't be a CM in a 4-3-3 with a single DM. Except we will play with 4 attackers, or 2 CMs. Bruno is the AM with a solid DM and CM, Bruno is the only player to slot into that AM like Muller. A big team like united need an attacking Midfielder that is always among the goals, eg Paul Scholes yes Ronaldo will make us more dangerous but Bruno scored 28 goals last season stifling that is not the best
Without a solid DM, we will need Bruno and Pogba playing more like CMs to help us retain possession and maintain a good shape in midfield...Bruno scoring so many goals is down to our forwards no being prolific. With Ronaldo, I don't expect Bruno to continue domi acting the goal scorers chart for the club, he has to take up a more withdrawn role and allow the forwards do their thing...

Let me drop my 2 cent here...

I think the Arsenal board were on point with the purchase of Gabriel last season but not White and Ramsdale or the other defenders they've bought.

I think what Arsenal needs now is to get back into the UCL proper and a good attack and midfield can deliver that but to win trophies which should be a long term goal for Arsenal at the moment, they will need to improve on their defense...

With a good attack and midfield, you can win games against the weaker teams and possibly snatch a point or a win against the big guns and that should be enough to guarantee a top 4 finish for a couple of seasons before the issues surrounding the defense is fully addressed.

I don't think Saka, ESR, Martinelli, Lokonga, Nketiah and the likes should be the go-to men for a team like Arsenal as they are way too young to shoulder such heavy responsibilities...After the signing of Gabriel, more funds should have been channeled to improve the attack and midfield whilst they paper over the cracks in defense with bargain buys.

Lastly, one of Auba or Lacazette should have been or rather should be moved on for a younger and more prolific forward...

sorry I edited my post with the reason Pogba hardly plays well at AM.
Well, we must not play an attacking midfielder especially with the obvious issue with have in midfield (DM) and our inability to control games. A 4 - 3 - 3 with a makeshift DM (Either of McFred) and two CMs should do. Our midfielders should rather help in ball retention and act as box to box CMs.
