What position does Fernandinho play for City?

They press as a unit tbh. I am not disputing the contributions of Fernandinho but I have seen Rodri take up that role and they still looked considerably solid...Heck, I have seen Gundogan deployed in that position and City weren't exposed at least not at an alarming rate. It goes beyond a competent DM.

Sticking Pogba next to Fred takes a lot of attacking intensity away from United. All the opponents have to do then is to double mark Bruno and the rest is history.

The two times Pogba has played as LW, you could see he had more impact in the game. United shouldn’t be playing double pivot DM against the likes of Wolves.

Pep would never set his team up like that. Pep would play Fernandinho and put David Silva(bald head) and KDB to support the attackers. If you double mark Silva, KDB is free to cause problems. If you double mark KDB, bald Silva would conjure up devastating through balls.

City have their full backs to offer width whilst their wingers tuck in and the CMs press forwards. In almost every area of the pitch, they have a triangle of players who are not far from each other thus they retain possession very well. In our case, our players drift too far from each other that's why when one of the loses the ball, the opponent can cover considerable ground without a challenge.

Most of our issues is down to how we set up and that's on the manager...

Making a case for McFred? We need a player who can receive the ball under pressure, hold on to it and lay a pass. None of McFred can do that.

They're cracks in our set up, so wide that a DM might not fix all of it. Ole has to find a system to accommodate the attacking talents at his disposal whilst remaining compact at the back.

Very poor performance. Different day and we end the match with 0 pts. We have to learn how to calm down and dominate a game, way too many rushed passes and general poor positioning from our players...

This idea of leaving players out when they return is really surprising me. Lukaku came in and started in a brand new team immediately. But Ole leaves Cavani out who have been training since and was part of the team since year and started James. Why is Fred really starting for a big club like man united.

But obviously in this board it is a Sin to point some things out, as it is an agenda and everything is about Ole.

I agree with you completely. There is no excuse for not winning at least one of the major trophies this season. The additions of Sancho, Varane, and Ronaldo have changed the expectations.

But if you accept that he is limited compared to his rivals then you should also accept that whatever advantage we can give him is good. This squad with an elite manager would have been one of the favorites for the title but because of the manager most pundits still rate Man Shitty and Chelshit above us.

For me if we don't win major titles this year he should be sacked BUT you know nitrogen and his board members will keep him as long as we make top 4. Hopefully CR7's arrival will inspire a change in aspirations in the club.

I just want to stack the deck in our favor by adding a quality DM that can hold the position on his own and allow us to field the attacking players that we have. That is our best route to titles this season. I am more interested in us winning titles than Amaka proving to me that he is Tuchel and Pep's equal when i already know he is not.

With Ronaldo, I hope we get the desired effect. I don't think any of the players will want to him to have a go at them during a match, all of them must step up. I am sure Ronaldo will be desperate to win with this Manchester United squad just to prove a point that he is up for the challenge and if he does, only a UCL win for Messi will see him edge Ronaldo in the Balon d'or race next year...Personally, I will give it to Ronaldo if he wins the league or UCL with us.

The issue of a competent DM has been discussed extensively on these board, I hope the club does something about it before Deadline day...Time is ticking...
