If we get a good offer, I won't mind if we cash in on Pogba but my problem is that you can't trust those in charge of transfers to sign a good replacement...

Nobody is paying 100m for pogba. Most clubs now are wiser, they wait for big players to transfer for free or less becuase of contracts running down. If PSG have a good offer now, Man u should snap their hands off and use the money to buy a more hardworking Defensive midfielder

So giving him £400k/week here is a bad decision, we may still not get any offer for him in that 4 years and his performance will not justify that huge wage.

We can't sign one top player and lose another yet expect to challenge City and Liverpool...

See Ramsey earning close to 400k weekly or thereabout because he joined Juventus on a bosman.

Instead of paying 70m for Pogba and still pay him a weekly wage of 300-350k, sensible teams like Juventus and Madrid will bid their time, sign him on a free and pay him 500-600k which over 4 years is cheap compared to paying a fee for him...

If we negotiate well, we can get Varane way cheaper or hold on for one more season and get him free with good pay.
