When we play top teams, we resort to defending deep and counter when we get the opportunity like every small team will do yet I should praise Ole...I guess West Ham should give Moyes a lifetime contract.

Imagine someone asking me what is Liverpool's pattern/style of play...Anyone who is a football enthusiasts won't ask such questions. The thing is that most of them watch only Manchester United matches because if that's not the case, if you watched Dortmund when Klopp was their coach, you'd easily see that the current Liverpool are playing just the same way Dortmund played which is indicative of Klopp's approach.

Same thing with Pep when you watch Barcelona, Bayern and now City.

Check the definition of counter attack, it isn't necessarily the defend and hit on the counter. Counter attack is fast attacking the opponents once they loose the ball, and it can be played against small teams too, but these teams know we attack fast, hence they always try to either keep a man behind, offside trap, or a low block.

Small teams defend deep when up against better teams...Their defending deep has nothing to do with our counter attacking prowess...They even defend deeper against City yet we don't see City fans extolling their counter attacking play...

It's not just about yesterday...Talking about the match yesterday, we played poorly...I am not that fan that will be okay if we play Sheffield United who are very poor and will be satisfied if we are marginally better than them. There's a minimum standard we should expect from a club of United’s caliber...

When you watch City, you see the way they cut through teams with their movements and precise passing, don't you want your team serving you such on match days?

Counter attacking against top teams is the way to go, even a rookie will adopt same approach when playing against teams that are superior...When we play against teams that sit back, we begin to struggle because counter attack is not an option. If we played top teams every other match day then I'll have no qualms with the approach but that's not the case hence we struggle to dispose off small teams.

The annoying part is that you watch our matches and you don't see any passing sequence that suggests these guys train together.

2 things can be true. The players can be poor with the manager being poor as well. They are not mutually exclusive situations.

Even a great manager like Pep has had to discard gazillion players because even he could not get them to perform. There is a big list of players that flopped under him.

Even if our players will perform better under a better manager (which i agree with) it will be marginal. We aren't winning the league under any regular circumstance with this bunch.

In Pep's very first match as coach of City against Arsenal in a friendly, I could see that his intent on their play, the 2 CBs split when the goal keeper has the ball and the CDM drops back with the two fullbacks pushing higher up the pitch. I watched and took note of Pep already imposing his style in just his first match albeit a friendly...In that first season, you could see what he set out to do even though the personnel were poor and that alone is enough encouragement to give him the players he ask for.

It's the same with Klopp at Liverpool, from the get-go, you see what they're on about but with Ole here, its been 2 and a half years yet I don't seem to understand how exactly he wants the team to play, our defending is poor, our midfield play is poor (You can blame the players but then what have we seen to suggest there's something they're trying out?), our attack is also poor...At this rate, even if we get all our summer targets, I still don't see us winning the league with Ole.

I slept off after the first half. We've been known to play rubbish and manage a win or draw because of the quality of the team so no surprise there. When we finish turning on individual players, we will tell ourselves the truth that these players are much better than how they play and that will be evident with a better modern trainer

No be today, every team look better when they play against us but when they play against City they hardly string two passes together...
