Ibime: Matuidi is a poor technician. His touch is poor, protection of the ball is poor etc.
He is a good version of Ramires.
Dont compare him to genuine central midfielders unless you have poor understanding of what midfield play is about. A midfielders primary function is control and protection of the ball in tight spaces and preservation of possession.
Matuidi cannot do that. Kante can. One thing with some of you is that you lots don't like seeing things from any other angle other than you already know...For folks like you, it has to be like Xavi/Zidane/Iniesta/Scholes, Matuidi has his style and it's really effective... Only few coaches will leave Matuidi out of their starting 11 |

Ibime: Kante is not like Matuidi at all.
Kante is a technician who can run.
Matuidi is just a runner.
Matuidi does not have the basic technique to play CM or DM. He is just a good runner from AM. Matuidi has a lot to his game than running, he assist, scores and defends...Kante is similar for his energy, long bursting runs and defending... |

I just hope Schneiderlin replaces Fellaini in the starting lineup today... Meanwhile, Kante is my stand out performer of the season, he is a lot like Matuidi of PSG...Vardy is a very direct player, he gets the ball turns and begins to run at defenses with frightening speed...Mahrez brings the technique and finesse... We should be getting the above from Schneiderlin, Martial and Mata but thus far only Martial has been consistent in his displays. |

omonnakoda: The last government was an economic disaster despite enjoying the HIGHEST OIL REVENUE IN NIGERIAN HISTORY we have nothing to show for it. We had elections and they were BOOTED out. We have a new government. Ideally I would prefer not to have Buhari but he won and has 4 years to work. His Ministers have been in office 3 months and he has not even passed his first budget. To judge him we must be fair and patient. What I see is unbridled hatred of those who fail to accept that the elections are over and seem to be praying for him to fail. This is shameful and irresponsible. In order to judge him fairly we must allow one full budget cycle to run The issue of Finance Minister is the height of pettiness. Since when did Finance Ministers become so important in Nigeria?? That only happens when a president is clueless and abdicates his responsibility. I thin Obasanjo said it all when he said the last person needed supervision which Jonathan failed to do and created this irresponsible role of coordinating Minister. In a presidential system. Ministers serve at the pleasure of the President unlike in a parliamentary system. There are more important and impact-ful ministries in this system of government. The Finance Minister is NOT meant to be that powerful and I think we are now returning to normalcy You're intelligent i must say...I'll take a closer look at the present administration in a years time... |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 8:12pm On Jan 23, 2016 |
elampiro: These players are the fastest over long distance not only in Manchester United but also some of the fastest in the league.
Valencia Shaw Smalling Young Jones
Three of them are also good headers of the ball in defence. Without these players we lack the ability to carry the ball forward swiftly and with a balance. They help us to push our defence very high because I am yet to see any striker that will carry the ball from half way to our box without Valencia, Shaw, Smalling and Jones catching up.
We can see even Jackson is hard to outpace. Today, we barely crossed into the final third with the ball even though we had countless opportunities to burst forward. The defence was far from the front two men, and everyone was dragged back by the defence. Martial and Rooney can be fast over a short distance, but certainly not over a long one. Rooney recorded our fastest time last season, and Martial holds the record this season. But when the race is stretched these two guys wont come up.
At least we had a period we were scoring many two to three goals with almost everyone fit. Someone to carry the ball forward? At one point we had Di Maria, Nani, Raphael but your much loved manager deemed them surplus to requirement, who does that? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 8:09pm On Jan 23, 2016 |
elampiro: True.
The reason Fellaini is starting while we have Jones and Rojo away. Please stop the all too obvious butt licking, we all loved Van Gaal appointment but he seems to have nothing more to offer us going forward... See his flimsy excuse, if it's the case, Mathieu, Vermaleen and Bartra should be starting every game for Barca...So much for defending set pieces |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 8:04pm On Jan 23, 2016 |
elampiro: You said Martial was played on the right. I don't think so, excerpt if you are saying we played 4-3-3.
I supposed we played 3-4-1-2 with Rooney and Martial as two strikers in front of Herrera.
Fellaini is better than Mata in central midifeld. Mata is not a CM. Mata went into AMC when he came on while Herrera dropped to CM. Again Fellaini is starting because without our first choice defenders available he offers protection to set plays against us. Secondly, he starts because Schwesteiger and Carrick are injured. I saw rooney stationed on the left in most of our attacks and Martial on the right which for me was wrong...Lingard was stationed as a wingback but he added little or no attacking impetus to our play... Now this is my problem, how do you outscore your opponent when your most inform striker is no where to be found around the opposition box and our most effective winger is deployed out of position? |

elampiro: What formation did we play today? Where did Martial play in the formation?
Again you said we should be doing better with the kind of prayers we have. Which players? The players that should give us stability are injured. I will like a situation where Val, Jones, Rojo are all fit at same time together with Smalling and Schnederlin. If we had Young doing his thing on the left wing, we would be winning almost all our games. Seriously i don't understand what you're on about, are you putting up a defense for Van Gaal? What balance when you prefer Fellaini to Perreira/Mata and Lingard to Januzaj... |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 7:05pm On Jan 23, 2016 |
kizolo: The team as a whole is not working, LVG is killing Man Utd.
Darmian as a full back is too defensive, no attacking threat in his head at all. Always lying deep that at a point I thought he was playing the CB position, he wasn't helping Lingard on the flank, he doesn't overlap, he doesn't cross the ball and he calls himself a right back.
About Lingard, it eludes me how a club like Man Utd would play such an ineffective player for 90mins, the guy should serve as a sub.
For Fellaini, lol that one is a big mediocre, he loses possession so easily and always gives bad passes, even with his height and body ball control is difficult for him.
Man, I don't even know where to start again, the team is wack and LVG shouldn't not only be sacked but always queried for mis-managing £250m.
Seriously, Man Utd just tire me Go back and watch how Darmian and Candreva tormented Baines in the game between Italy vs England at the world cup in Brazil...Isn't it obvious that Van Gaal is limiting the effectiveness of our players with his boring philosophy? Darmian at this point in time is the least of our problem, face it, Lingard gives the word Average it's true meaning... |

Van Gaal has to leave after today's shambolic performance... Lingard and Fellaini are total poo and Schneiderlin needs to stop attempting those cross field balls of his, he needs to watch and learn from Busquet, keep it simple...Every human being with a brain would take Januzaj over Lingard safe for Van Gaal, we should be doing much better with the players we have... Martial on the right wing is a mistake the useless Van Gaal keeps making...Not seeing anymore matches whilst that bastard of a coach remains at the helm of affairs... |
