The company is a joke. Those are eminent signs of bankruptcy. Young companies easily go under when they try to be over-ambitious.

Smh. Its loosing 8% this morning already. I regret buying into the crappy company when there were better options. I just want to break even and I'm out.

Sir, do you have e-dividend mandate with them? If yes, the dividend supposed to have been in your account. Check with your bank first before you call Access Bank registrar.
Thanks!

Sir, I am not sure we are discussing the same thing. The outstanding number of shares is what I commented on. The balance sheet has absolutely nought to do with the dilution of the outstanding shares of Skye if they eventually raise the 30bn needed through rights/issuance of new shares.
Please educate me here... does the new balance size not matter? If it is rights, I won't consider it dilution, it will be existing shareholders benefiting from their company....... they are capitalising their company, increasing their holding at a discount....

Sell it this week? Absolutely No! UBA still has many upsides potential likewise some other banks when anti-banks policy is being ease or remove along their way...And on the other hand, it depends on when u enter and whether u have achieved your target?

In the voice of my friend, Sir Agba: why sell within one month for 12% when u can make more than 80% in the next 5 months...(The term applies to the smart traders)!
Wise words! More like 2-4 months!

This favors banks, especially Skye bank at this time. There is a lot of good news driving and will drive this Skye rally.... and very soon another massive rally.

What is happening to Skyebank at the moment is clearly the handwork of the market makers. I don't see any other way to describe it. The 1 for 20 bonus is utterly absurd considering the poor FY2014 report.
You might be right... but have you seen Q1 or do you know what it might look like, and the way the market will reacthuh

Can someone tell us what he/she thinks the true worth of Skye bank is?

How to buy a Nigerian bank without money
This is ingenuity! and good will at work!

In my opinion, Skye was smart.... Now that we know how they funded the acquisition without any real cash outlay... will they be heading to the sky?? grin

Mpeace: It would not make sense for WT to throw in rights issue before that day because at that price, he will not raise much money. He will push the price so much that any right issue would yeild enough fund(mind you the purpose of right issues are for fund/capital raising) I suspect WT will release the Q3 result reflecting gains from COP, immediately after the qualification date so as to sustain a rise in the share price, prior to the rights issue. Note that the released result does not contain any gain from COP.
There will be no benefit as regards gain from the COP on the bottom line.. its been spent during deal.

The only thing that will be revealed in Q3 is the new size of the company going forward- Revenue potentials, balance sheet.......

just my take cheesy

paulcube: 1. I actually read Mercy's take on IEI..... and the advice I gave was it was best to get a contact in CBN to give a true state of affairs. Someone in CBN can easily unmask everything that seems masked. It won't be an official finding though.

2. For the COP deal, due to the various financial engineering involved in the acquisition, I will not doubt it is 50% debt and 50% equity. Nobody can! All I can say is that we know the guys that provided the debt component to the transaction, and the full facts will come out when their audited 2014 results are released or when they come to the market for rights issue. We won't find anything tangible in the audited 2013 result.

3. I agree with you and I am aware that price is not the only component used, but in this instance, I can tell you that Fidelity bid less than Heritage bank.

Aks: @Omaojo1 - you no too well that it's coined in an official language But i've de-mystified the reason behind it. This is a right issue that has not been approved by shareholders and the last thing to do is coming first via suspension. You'll see more of these infractions when AIG finally assumed office as NSE president
is this an infractionhuh

omaojo1: Did you read where Mercy is taking a position in IEI Plc because of this acquisition. Oh, you mean Yahoo shareholders should not bother about what is happening in Alibaba because it is a privately held company right?

Who are the financiers of the COP deal? WT said its 50% debt, and 50% equity. Please tell me your own version.

Plus, Fidelity is not the reserved bidder because their bid price is less. The overall interest of the industry was considered to reach that decision and not necessarily cash.

omaojo1: We need to know those bringing in the cash. We don't want some unknown guys to provide the funds and leave the unsuspecting investors wailing. A case in point is the recent acquisition of COP that the financiers are still not known to the average investor.

Don't tell me you are a believer in that 50% debt 50% equity theory being sold to the ignorant folks on the street.
.... but the difference between the COP deal and this one...please correct me if I am wrong...

Oando is a publicly listed & traded company, while Heritage bank is not. We also know the financiers of the COP deal.

Whenever Heritage banks comes to the market or for listing, they will have to make everything plain for us all to understand before we buy into the bank.

For this particular transaction, I am least bothered because the truth will be revealed with time....If the guys cannot pay, Fidelity definitely bid less, and because they are listed, they will be a lot more transparent.

omaojo1: Madam, first of all, if there was an immediate kill to be made, IEI shares would have flown north with all guns blazing.

An SPV is the owner of Heritage bank and they own 80%, Saraki 9% and others 11%. The investment of IEI Plc in the vehicle is 1.7bn naira. The Net Assets of the bank as at the time of this acquisition was 10bn naira with Total assets standing at about 31bn naira. So IEI Plc owns 17% of the bank or 21.25% of the SPV's investment in the bank.

The unknown element here is who the promoters of this SPV is. How they are going to raise the 56bn naira consideration for this transaction is a question that is still begging for answer.
Very true.... but do you bid without knowing where to get the cash??

mercylicious: Abeg check the 2013 result, it willbe there. grin
i asked google the business of Heritage bank and their owners(not directors). Some news papers said iei is d major shareholder while d said family has 10%.. Others said IEI has 10 % same as the BUKOLA family.
I suggest you get a contact in CBN to confirm the current state of things grin
