PoliticsRe: Thugs Invasion: Sagay Blames Saraki For Missing Mace by pauljumbo(m): 4:48pm On Apr 19, 2018
Ebullience:
The Chairman of Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) has blamed Senate President Bukola Saraki for the invasion of the senate by suspected thugs on Wednesday.

Sagay explained that Saraki and his minions in the senate had been provoking people to take the law into their own hands.

The Senior Advocate said this while speaking to Punch.

He said, “This Senate led by Bukola Saraki has been provoking Nigerians for a long time. What happened today (Wednesday) was illegal; there is no doubt about that. But the provocation that this particular Senate has been inflicting on Nigerians has reached a boiling point.

“You cannot be enjoying the huge and enormous resources of the people, living in luxury and at the same time refusing to do your job, making trouble with the executive at the slightest opportunity, bringing the government to a standstill and then turning members of the Senate into puns who can be pushed here and there.

“I think Saraki has gone too far. While what happened today is illegal, I have no doubt in my mind that he and the group that surround him provoked it. Ultimately, I hold Saraki responsible for what happened today.”

DAILY POST reports that thugs suspected to be loyal to the suspended Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial district, Ovie Omo-Agege had invaded the red chambers and forcefully took away the mace.

They broke into the chambers when plenary was going on, creating serious confusion and tension.

Few hours later, Sen. Omo-Agege was arrested in connection to the incident but was later released, after which he denied claims that he staged the incident.

''More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education for free.” - President Buhari

Sad enough, many people echoing the falshood about PMB's comment have not listened to the so tagged video to apppreciate the context under which the president was speaking.

First of all,the president did not berate Nigerian youths!.

Saying that a lot of Nigerian youths have not been to school is a fact put in the context of an explanatory discus. That does not and should never be interpreted to say that Nigerian youths are illiterates or lazy.

More so, that a lot of Nigerian youths have not been to school, does not imply that (all)Nigerian 60% youth population have not being to school.

The president cannever deliberately ''berate'' Nigerian youths. It is not possible!

This is another case of intellectual laziness and purposeful mischief.

It is now a common trend to highlight only the purported negativity of the president.

What a shame!

SMH. undecided
Try and use this same energy you are trying to make yourself happy and use it to advice the president on what to say in public

I have probably been to over 21 countries. So telling me to go abroad to see how things function is misguided.

I have studied the Nigerian character and I mean the typical, we are averse to truth.

Yes, many have a daring spirit but much more think the nation is wealthy and they have been shortchanged down the wealth chain.

Truly, they have been shortchanged but they have not been given their aliquot share of the little.

Presently, the man you love to hate is the one doing everything to change the narrative but deep down their is a prejudice that many of you have such that any suggestion he makes is followed by resistance.

Funny it is the likes of Fayose and Atiku that you look up to.

I dey laugh.
I understand now so you write all this to justify the president statement on Nigeria is lazy

And you think supporting politicians when they are wrong is creative

Speak for yourself.

The stats are stark and they are revealing.

We are simply not creative as a nation. No amount of sugarcoating would change that reality.

I can equally tell you to go abroad and see the number of Nigerians involved in crime.
That doesn't make ALL young Nigerians to be criminals.
I put it to you the president never said ALL young Nigerians were lazy.

Of course, there are many who would not have voted him anyway looking to feel insulted, looking to amplify his statement so as to put pressure on others to exact some hate .

Again, I repeat. It is your choice. Your life. Play it as you will it.
We like to insults ourselves

Tell me one country in the world that have creative youths that will thrive in Nigeria
PoliticsRe: Are Nigerian Youths Actually Lazy? by pauljumbo(m): 10:51am On Apr 19, 2018
The most lazy youths reside in America waiting for government aids and most of them are into drug despite the good environment they find themselves

Don’t generalize a country because of few people who goes into crime.

If you are privileged to travel abroad and see the kind of infrastructure they have you will know Nigeria youth is the most hard working in the world despite nothing that is working in the system we still hustle everyday.

Some of us know you simply choose to be mischievious.

Did he say ALL youth of Nigeria are lazy?

Besides semantics, I put it to you, the Nigerian youth do not display enough creativity.

How much research, patents, world class artistic work would you find in our institutions?
Let me guess..that's government's fault.

Ok let's go to the number of our young people who have access to the internet. How many are involved in programming, animation, international research syndicates?

Let me guess...that's the government's fault.

Here on Nairaland, start a topic with a misleading headline and wait to find how many would spot the disconnect between the headline and the body of the message.

Let me guess... it's the government's fault.

The youth of Nigeria are lacking in creativity and please don't give me Nollywood and Afro music. It can take only a few entrants.

We need people who want to create and constantly think of solutions.

We need people who channel their energy positively and not in cult activities, Yahoo or drug use.

Talking about drugs, this poor nation is experiencing a new wave of drug abuse...tramadol, codeine, skunk etc.
That's what the nation is about.

Many Nigerians are of the misconception that the country is rich but the reality is that we aren't.

Yes we have the potential to be wealthy, but we are a poor nation in every way, shape or form.

It is your choice to accept the criticism.

You can go renegade and discount it.
It is your life, your future. Play it as you wish.
The system makes the youth look lazy no normal human can thrive in hostile environment like we have in Nigeria.

Despite the harsh environment young Nigerians are everywhere hustling from selling pure water and the rest.

Even those that goes in to crime do you think crime is for lazy people?

The president makes big blunder no sane president puts his people Down in public
