Wow, what is it about the Redmi 7a that makes it so eligible for major updates from Xiaomi? Appears I made a great/lucky choice.

I would buy another Xiaomi phone but ALL their phones now are greater than 6.3". That's the length of an erect dick in my pocket smh.

Xiaomi unveiled MIUI 12 in late April in China. Since then, the company has been pushing the update in the form of beta and stable builds worldwide. Now, eight months later, the firm silently reveals that Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6, and Redmi 6A will not be updated to MIUI 12.

A month after the Chinese MIUI 12 launch conference, Xiaomi held a separate online event for global markets. At the end of this event, the company revealed the complete list of smartphones that will be getting MIUI 12.

The list included almost all the devices that launched in the last two years. Therefore, Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6, and Redmi 6A were part of it. But unfortunately, Xiaomi has removed these four handsets from the eligibility list after seven months since publishing it.

For those unaware, MIUI 12 on Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones differ by models. Not all devices support every feature and the availability of certain features differs by region as well. Because MIUI is a heavy Android skin like any other Chinese mobile UI, it requires more horsepower.

This is the primary reason why vivo OriginOS is limited to flagship as well as select mid-range smartphones.

Having said that, these four Redmi phones have been notorious for performance issues since their launch. Having personally used the Redmi 7 with MIUI 10 and MIUI 11, I know the pain.

But still, it’s terrible that these global best-sellers from Xiaomi have only received a single MIUI as well as Android updates. Also, the latter update (Android 10) is yet to roll out globally for Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DECLARES 30 AND 31 JULY, 2020 PUBLIC HOLIDAYS TO MARK EID-EL-KABIR CELEBRATION
The Federal Government has declared Thursday 30 and Friday 31 July, 2020 as Public Holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir Celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, while making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Muslim faithful and all Nigerians both at home and abroad on the occasion. He called on the Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the country especially as the world is witnessing global health challenges caused by Covid-19 pandemic.

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbosola who assured that the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is fully committed to battling the scourge with the cooperation of all Nigerians, emphasized that government would continue to foster peaceful coexistence, national cohesion and stability in its march towards actualizing the full potentials of the country.

He called on all Nigerians to join hands with the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its avowed determination to build a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous country, where the rights of every citizen, are protected and guaranteed, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Minister advised Nigerians to take responsibility against the spread of the COVID-19 virus and also to stay safe by observing physical and social distancing, personal and respiratory hygiene, as well as other regulations issued by relevant authorities.

Ogbeni Aregbesola wishes all Muslims a happy Eid –el- Kabir Celebration.
