I have come to understand that these minorities are like children. Give them a referendum to choose Biafra or Oduduwa, they either fall into one or the other. Oil is no ground for nationhood.

In Ondo, Ilaje are to yoruba wat the Ikwere (rivers) are to Igbos both are oil producing community. Urhobo and Bini put together are not significant oil producers.

They are hoping to steal the wealth of igboid and yoruboid group under the guise of Land Grabber Republic.

Wat annoys me most is the type of noise they make, u did think they were major oil producers but they are not.

I know that the region contains some groups that are related to each other- that's always going to happen when you live in close proximity to another group- but what is the single thing that unites them all? Do you know the states that make up the Niger Delta?

If you believe that you have every right to speak for your region then don't complain when someone from Imo, Abia, Ondo, Rivers etc does the same for you. Many things. Many tribes in the ND have similar traditional attires and can be difficult for a non-niger deltan to differentiate. Delta and Edo have close relations in that there are similar words in both Urhobo and Bini language. It is also very glaring how related Akwa Ibom is with Calabar.

We are all riverine people also. And mind you, every Niger Deltan sees a person from the SS as their brother or sister. Oil may dry up tomorrow, but we remain NDs.

Indeed one big reason why the DISCOS, GENCOS and TCN cannot guarantee light is because most Nigerians do not pay their light bills at all.

Even the prepaid meter that was supposed to end pay dodgers....people bypass them so that they can get free light.

And as a result...there is no money to buy new equipment, no money to upgrade existing equipment, and no money to even expand the power supply.

Thanks to privatisation, which most Nigerians did not oppose...the onus is even more on us to pay for our light. We cannot refuse to pay for light because they have not given us light at all. That means that there would be no money not only for power infrastructure improvement...but also no money for staff salaries too. And DISCO/GENCO workers are Nigerians like you...who also have bills to pay, and lives to maintain.

We may look at this man who beat up DISCO staff as a hero. We may even encourage more people to go ahead and commit acts of violence against DISCO staff....but remember....the reason why we do not have power is because we refuse to pay our bills.

Am sure the man who beat up the staff would complain if his working place did not give him his salary. He would complain that it prevents him from being an effective worker.Why then do we insist on making power supply inefficient for all....by refusing to pay our bills.
