Incredibleme: Oga didn't you see where he mentioned the gas power plant at Ohaji/Egbema and it would be utilized for the project? His ideas are not merely a dream, they are realistic and attainable. Change your pessimistic attitude, it would do you no good.
The only major draw back would be the finance, but that itself wouldn't be much of an issue as we can borrow or make it a long term plan using our own available funds to sponsor it. Public-private partnership is another effective (or most effective) avenue to exploit. Listen good sir, Okorocha is not interested in all these. No Nigerian politician is interested in any of these suggestions. Your ideas are good but I will like you to start up a company in Nigeria to know how hard it is for businesses to survive in Nigeria. Nigeria without electricity is doomed. For your information the Egbema gas power plant is a hoax. Nothing real has been put in place there. |

Ikengawo: Great concept @Cjrane,
Owerri can't survive without a real industrial base. I have been playing with this concept for a while. If the eastern people know anything about themselves it's the fact that we can take an ordinarily complex idea, simplify and make it accessible to the average person. We did this with movie production, international trading, crafts like in Aba, and we can do the same for manufacturing.
If the state laying out 2000 tiny factories, it would spark a revolution. Each factory doesn't have to be bigger than one or two shipping containers.
https://www.royalwolf.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/modifications_workshops_05.jpg
And the government can charge the cost of the shipping containers for people to own or rent them. Then next to the industrial zone where they will be clustered will be a large warehouse or two.
https://www.colourbox.com/preview/4862221-interior-of-an-empty-warehouse.jpg
The gov can allow international industrial machine producing companies to rent ground space in the ware houses and sell their industrial machines to the manufactures in the containers. I can be screen printing machines, printers, CNC machines, medical pill presses, electric sewing, iron cutting devices, diamond refining devices etc etc.
the manufactures can buy the machines from the warehouses, stock up their container and have a simple, easy and profitable instant factory in a matter of days
If one container producers the legs for a chain, the other the cushion, the other does the paint and finish, then you can have collaborations pumping out industrial volume chains. If one makes ceramic plates, another paints them there's another product set. If one makes plastic bottles, the other fills them with mineral, another puts the label on them, imagine. You'll create a hyper productive industrial heartland in a simple and affordable way. The government can easily built 50,000-100,000 of these containers in the area you designated alone.
As time goes, successful container owners will buy more containers to increase output. Traders in places like Alaba will buy containers and begin manufacturing their goods since it's cheaper than importing.
The problem with industrialization is we think we need to build massive factories and focus on employment. Really we need small factories geared towards ownership. In a matter of months every market in the zoo with be filled to the brim with Imo products. Why import consumer goods when they're coming out of Owerri-Orlu-Okigwe at an insane volume Nice idea but there is no electricity to power the industries. The cost of doing business in this country is very high. Imported products are still way cheaper. Without constant and affordable electricity, Nigeria is doomed. Sorry my friend but your ideas are merely a dream. |

GodIsBiafran: My problem is that it is distracting us from facing our own issues. This energy we are using to lay claim to Lagos online can be used to hold our elected officials accountable for their actions. I believe we Igbos are the most industrious tribe in Africa, however, we have to direct our energies towards the right direction. Oga, no reasonable Igbo person has claimed Lagos. We may have some few political banters. The reality has always been the same. Yorubas are ancestral to Lagos State. However, Lagos belongs to all Nigerians since it is within the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Every other talk is trash! |

Xsem: Enugu women, especially those coming from nsukka geographical region are highly conventional and reserved, that's one good trait that facilitates fidelity in marriage and a peaceful home per say. Though in recent times, nsukka women are now developing the tails to join politics which of course is a laudable step. The issue with ladies from your divide is that they are highly exposed and as such gives little or no respect to their husbands. Please we are talking about marriage here and not about regional achievement. Ofcourse it's an established fact that women from Anambra are widely read and are more exposed and political than people from Enugu but talk of marriage, peaceful home and fidelity Enugu, especially nsukka is second to none. Ask any honest person from your region. The simple issue is this: focus on your women. Stop saying unverifiable trash against Imo people. Your hypocrisy is as big as your stupidity! Nna visit a psychiatric home. Delusion is a sickness. Once again focus on your useless girls leave our girls for us. |

Women are hell! Pleasing the devil is easier than pleasing a woman. I think what happens is this:
First 2 weeks of the month, your account is still full and you spend recklessly. Remember, women cherish people who recklessly spend on them.
2weeks later, you are careful with money. She also becomes careful with her love.
The love of a woman is proportional to the amount of money spent + the amount of servitude giving to her.
In short women are worse than devil. Flee from her. |
