We want CHANGE |
@Andrew Uweh Thanks for your observation. I don't have anything about Zik being the most outstanding political leader, perhaps amongst his peers he was the only true pan Nigerian, nay African politician. As a Yoruba man, I am happy and proud of Awolowo's achievements for the Southwest. But, this mekusxxxx has a way of spewing hatred and sowing discord on Nairaland. I will advise him to always take his unguarded remarks to the Tribalism section since he is so fixated on his divisive tendencies. |

@Aisha2 Thanks. I read the whole story. His hurriedly put together foundation. How it took him so long to realize that he has amassed too much wealth than he can spend. Or perhaps a way of telling us that he is not in politics for money. So is it not coincidental that the man suddenly realized that he needed to do something for Tarabians while coveting a political post? I was in Taraba between 2003 and 2004 and the only thing he was responsible for then was supplying arms to the Jukuns against the Tivs during their bitter confrontations. |
It is now confirmed that you have no other business on Nairaland than peddling hatred and ethnic chauvinism. Do you still wonder why people choose to ignore your posts? mekusxxx:Please provide proof too. |
@Beaf I am inclined to agree with you on this. If what i read elsewhere about the purported plan to make T.Y Danjuma the V.P was true, then this is a smart move. But, i am fed up with this country. This same Danjuma that publicly acknowledge that he is bereft of ideas. Didn't he recently declare that he doesn't know what to do with $500 million? His home state (Taraba) is one of the most underdeveloped in Nigeria. It is not on record that he has made any meaningful contribution to his state. Being an OBJ critic does not make you a better (good) politician. |

I guess the impeachment notice should be extended to Beaf and Aisha2 for gross violation of house rules! |

My humble opinion is that Sanusi is confused and what he only does now is double-speaking without any concrete agenda for the economy. |
Nairaland has once again proven to be the true microcosm of Nigeria. Some weeks ago, this same Dora Akunyili was seriously maligned and heavily vilified by anyone who could type QWERTY on Nairaland. Shouldn't we all be happy that at last a beacon of hope has risen for Nigeria? For those saying she said so much, what exactly is your measurement? BTW, what is the secrecy in government all about? To hoodwink the people and dole out false information while they pillage the common wealth of the land? That is why well meaning Nigerians have been asking for the passage of the FOI bill. I read the interview in ThisDay (Sunday 28th Feb 2010) and i must really commend her forthrightness. The man dies in him who keeps silent in the face of oppression- Wole Soyinka |
So, this is where people come to cool-off. Whereas the politics section is a madhouse. Hmmmm, i'm enjoying this show! |
@Borat that's my signature ![]() |
Eyes kongba. The greed in Turai's eyes is obvious even in this archaic picture. It's in her! |
babaearly:I seem to be following your posts. Anyway, Amen!!! |

@Lagosboy, I don't think there is any new thing in what you wrote. However, if Tinubu was instrumental to his election as governor, then Fashola should bequeath the treasury to him? Was Tinubu's emergence as governor not as a result of other people's goodwill? What was the fate that befell the likes of Ganiyu Dawodu, Wahab Dosumu, Funso Williams etc. Didn't Tinubu ensure that they remained politically irrelevant in AD before they decamped? How did he conspire with other AD governors to conduct a sham in the name of presidential primary election to scheme Bola Ige out of reckoning? How did he become the leader of AD and then AC? If anyone lacks wisdom,, (James 1:5). We all need to know more about our contemporary political history. If he is now being given a bitter taste of his own medicine, why are you crying foul? More so, if Fashola now decides to walk differently, shouldn't we all rally around him and ensure that he succeeds? At least, he has started well. I did not even vote for Fashola and i am sure that some of you don't know that the Epe people (my home Local govt) are in avowed opposition to the AC led government in Lagos State. Even Ikuforiji Adeyemi (the Speaker) cannot claim to have won the LSHA fairly in Epe. Having said all that, Fashola has given so much elixir to governance in Lagos and our hopes as indigenes are being rekindled. Although, I have complained here on Nairaland severally that my people are yet to feel the impact of his governance, but i am sure that he needs my support to achieve his goals for the Greater Lagos as a Mega City (Epe inclusive). As for the hired hands, "The time has come when the sun will shine only on men who accept no other master except their own reasons"- Mikhail Bakunin |
Those canvassing for military putsch did not really witness the hardship they wrought on Nigerians. Some of us who were old enough to experience the misrule have vowed that NEVER AGAIN would there be any recourse to that harrowing experience. |
safeact:audacity |
@Poster. Thank you for exposing Tinubu's overture to build his business/ political empire out of the wealth of Lagos. He already owns/controls Alpha Beta Consulting, Hitech, TV/ Radio Continental, Adaba FM, The Nation Newspaper etc. We have had enough! |
Would this Speaker have said that if Tinubu were the incumbent governor? Unfortunately, this man is from my local govt (Epe), i would have cursed his roots! |
In your dreams. |
