I have been able to get top rated twice now. The second one lasted for just a day. Sad experience but I know I would get it again. I ended inactive contracts myself and it brought me down drastically.

Getting top rated in my books is quite easy. Perhaps because of one specific client I had. The idea is to do more jobs, let the client end the contract and leave you a great review.

I had a lot of short contracts which ran concurrently for about 3 clients. I am certain this was what aided me. Just don't forget to do quality work or it would end up being irrelevant if you are left with a bad review.

That is the best tip I can give. Also, make sure you pick what you can do. As a rule of thumb I always avoid Indians like a plague. Those guys can be demon spawns. Maybe not all of them but sha avoid them for your peace of mind.

But you don't have show it on your profile that you are very good at all of them. Clients we see you as someone who is desperately waiting to devour any writing work that comes your way.

So, your cover up should be on your profile title.

You can tag it as: "prolific content writer, creative content writer, content that converts specialist," etc.

On the add-skill section, you can add related skill like :
Article writing, creative writing, content writing, copywriting, academic writing etc. They all speak the same language.

Then in your overview use top-notch description to convince client that you can help them to solve their problems.

Here is a proposal I used to get my current client. Well, it is a pinch of the entire proposal, but I think it will stand as a source of inspiration to you.
